About me

Hi folks.
My name's Samuel Swanson. I have loved Scooter ever since I heard One (Always Hardcore). Nothing that either they've done, nor anybody else in the hardcore techno scene that I've heard, has managed to recapture the power and feeling of raw energy that that song embodies. The first album of there's I bought was JAOTW, which I know is unpopular amongst fans here. I can't describe why that album appeals to me. I like happy upbeat songs when I'm in the right mood and that album seemed to have this joyous exuberance pevading all its tracks, combining catchy melodies, with fun non-serious lyrics by HP, and a beat that made you want to jump. If the tracks weren't all complete rips, I think the album would be thought of in the same vain as the happy hardcore albums were. Needless to say I can understand people's aversion to it, and honestly, I don't listen to it anymore. After buying JAOTW, I went on to buy numerous of Scooter's other works listed here
Back To The Heavyweight Jam
Sheffield
We Bring The Noise
The Stadium Techno Experience
Mind The Gap
The Ultimate Aural Orgasm
Under The Radar, Over The Top
I can't ever seem to decide which chapter is the best (it's not the fourth though). I think the second chapter has the best album in it (WBTN), although I think the first chapter has better consistency. The third chapter has without doubt the best trance songs and some of my favourite singles. So yeah it's a tough one.
I love other music as well. Initially I virtually only listened to dance but I broke out and now I love lots of different types of music. My favourite bands are
The Killers
MGMT
Empire of The Sun (Australian synth-pop band)
Good Charlotte
Coldplay
Eskimo Joe (Australian Rock Band)
Pnau (Aussie dance band)
Pendulum (Aussie/British drum and bass band)
The Prodigy
Cut Copy (Aussie synth-pop band)
Daft Punk
Ou Est Le Swimming Pool (British synth-pop band - now split)
The Black Eyed Peas
and of course Scooter
Other than that I'm a university student doing his final year of civil engineering at Adelaide Uni. I'm into politics; read newspapers everyday, watch current affairs shows, and online news shows.
