Vinyls, beautiful vinyls

I thought maybe we could have a topic to discuss vinyls.

Until a few months ago I thought they were just rather big, outdated and ugly things - CDs much better

Now I have come to love them - they are becoming my favorite part of my collection :) :)

Just wondered - how many of you collect Scooter, CTN and Ratty vinyls?

Glad you've seen the light Sandra!

Vinyl will never die. There are actually more vinyls being pressed at the moment than any other time before, would you believe? I love vinyls, they just have this undefinable allure and aura about them. Could be their black, shiny surface, or warm tone that's easy on the ears, or twelve square inches of cool artwork! And so satisfying to scr-scr-scr-scratch! :D (I mean as in DJing parlance, not as in scuffing a huge great trench through them so they're unplayable! 8) )

Maria was my first vinyl for over 10 years - the sleeve is great - looks much better than a small CD :D :D

I also love some of the older plain ones, some of the promos - no artwork, some times they look totally annonomous but they sound so good - they feel as if they could have a story to tell - real history :) :) (crazy woman :? )

Dusty Vinyl is one of my favorite tracks :) :)

I spent many hours one day this week in second hand record shops in London. Some of them have basements full of dusty vinyls - just a great way to pass time :) :)

I have no vinyls. I suppose I will start collecting them once I run out of cds to get, but I would never be able to play them.

Sure you could mate, just find some old turntable at a junk shop or garage sale and that'll work fine with modern dance vinyls if it's set to the right speed (that's the one thing I dislike about vinyls - you put one on at the wrong speed and it sounds like either a goblin or Scooter gone mad with their pitchshifter while drunk!

No, it was not from ebay, it was from a UK shop - he will refund the money, but this ia a beautiful vinyl that has existed for 15 years, to be destroyed in the post.

It was CTN - Will You Be There - 7" UK release :( :(

Yes, this is particularly sad and difficult to replace. :(

I feel worse about a vinyl than a CD these days - they have a soul that CDs don't have :)
