They take care of their voices in a different way, probably.
And you can't say that Steve Tyler sounds the same now as he did 15 years ago.

Imo and many of my friends, Madonna is too old :P

I actually feel sick watching her videos. Her music is ok though.

We're talking about voices, not looks.

40 is perhaps not old, but it's older than 30.

And if he sounds great or not wasn't the question, it's wether or not his voice was better 5-6 years ago than it is today.

1. I didn't start the thread.

2. Pointing out flaws in an opinion is not "silly".

3. The point of this topic is that the OP missed the clean voice, or "the voice of the old days".

Looks like i edited my post while you were answering, sorry about that..

You are right, pointing out flaws is not silly, but the way *you* do it, is silly.

It will take quite a lot to make some people say something bad against Scooter, how is pointing that out with a colourful metaphor retarded?

H.P.'s voice sounded great at the Chicago concert back in November. Probably the best I've ever heard him sound compared to other Live recordings and concerts. I've noticed that it seems to get a little rough towards the end of a tour, like with Excess all Areas. Hamburg was one of the last concerts, so that would only make sense! I don't even see how he can even talk by the end of a tour, but he seems to pull it off!

HP's "loud hailer"-voice sounds cooler and that's why they use it. There are also some effects he can't create that well with his normal voice, for example the "ccchhhhh" after the first chorus in "Take a break".
But: Some songs with his normal shoutig voice would really bring more variety and whenever I remember songs like "Hit the Drum" I start to miss his normal voice. They could also use different vocoder voices - a song in the style of "Remedy" would also be great.

Concerning the live quality of HP's voice I must say that smoking hasn't killed HP's clear voice. No, in earlier days he shouted too high and that especially in songs like "Fuck the Millenium" or "Posse". Now his voice is deeper and rougher and so it fits better to such vocoder songs. But it is also remarkable that HP's voice has lost a bit of its force: In songs with fast and loud lyrics like "How much is the fish?" or "Fire" his voice becomes weak before the breaks.
