Re: The future of Scooter!

Quoted from ""skibadanger""

I expect more than 11 (without intro) tracks on an album and more feat. like with marc arcadipana & d##k rules.
My big wish is a mixed track of two tracks from an album like apache rocks the bottom. This is a genius idea and i´ve never seen that from an another group.
Sorry, for my terrible english, because i´m a german!

First: An Album has normally just 12 tracks! The rest are b-sides.
Second: "My big wish is a mixed track of two tracks from an album"
Well, they'd done...with apache rocks the bottom.
Don't have to be beautiful...but it helps

No matter what is released, it has to be commercial and it has to be profitable. I wouldn't be suprised if the Scooter style (Apache Rocks The Bottom, Hello) doesnt change a single bit...

Why does it have to be "profitable"? How about Scooter separate music-making and money-making in their heads for a change?

Let's face it, hardcore Scooter collecters will buy it whatever it is. And if the UK is anything to go by, album and single sales are slowly becoming irrelavent with the growth of downloading. As much as i like to see people supporting their favourite artists, people outside Scooter's hardcore fanbase will probably download a single if they like it. So why carry on letting a desire to sell singles dictate your music style? It's stupid.

I wish a change in style, though

i wish no change in style. maybe at least 2 rap songs in an album, HP raps catchy.

Well I just want music which is Scooter, nohing else. When the track starts it has to be easily recognizable as a Scooter song. Maybe more trance sounded music with HP vocals and without them. Maybe a litle more industrial stuff. I don't want that Scooter is just banging bass and cheesy sounds

scooter sound became too smooth these days. uhn tiss, mesmeerized, the chaser, seven bridge, tarnce atlantic. and if its not smooth, its distorted. i want the sound from the axel time or the TSTE sound, which is the best by far.

Well I'm just stating what would most likely happen, not exactly what I want to happen... I would prefer it if the style (Hello, Apache Rocks The Bottom, Seven Bridges etc) stayed the same, because it is this that I enjoy from Scooter the most, and I think everyone knows by now that I am a Jay Frog fan, so its clear what type I would like. Pushin'

Tbh, i don't care what style they pick as long as that style isn't dicated by the industry or a desire to make money. That's not how proper musicians make music.

If Pendulum or Zombie Nation or Royksopp or Infected Mushroom or Yoji Biomehanika wanted to make maximum cash or get higher chart positions (or enter the singles charts at all) they'd all be making cheesey house music aswell. They don't because they are proper musicians who stay true to their own creative influence

Tbh, i don't see how anybody could disagree with me on that particular point.

Those people that think Scooter's style is not directed by music industry, can always disagree. These same people also think that Scooter are still being creative with songs like ARTB & similar. There's always a opportunity for disagreement.

Although, as you already know, I agree with you.

They may disagree with me and say that they don't think Scooter's music is being dictated by the industry or by the desire to make money.

But i don't see how they can disagree that allowing musicians to have their style dicated by money making or the industry or chart positions is a bad thing. It is a bad thing surely.

Well, on the upside i'd much rather they did that style than cheesey house like Shake That! But then again, i don't think this music is particularly innovative. It's fairly simple stuff. Hard or soft, aggressive or uplifting, i want Scooter's music to have some depth to it.
