old scooter better?

hey peoples, does anyone out there look back at first chapter and think that they should go back play more tunes like that? sometimes i do, they came up with such great great classics. to me now in my own opinion its just less happy hardcore and just hardcore dance? or is it supposed to be like that?
i love all of scooters music. but the b-sides on the 3rd chapters singles give me more feeling than the album songs. because they remind me of 1st chapter in a way - does anyone feel the same? or am i just being stupid? :?:

Nope. I really prefer the newest stuff. And gotta mention, yeah, b-sides are excellent. :D

Edit: I don't think Scooter is supposed to sound like they did ten years ago. They have evolved.

From the sound 10 years ago yes
From the sound 5 years ago no

I wouldn't want Scooter to make sound they used to make. EDM should evolve and not use the same sounds than before. Even I think that old Scooter is much better, I still think Scooter should make something fresh and new.
Waiting for albums from Way Out West, Sasha, Second Sun, Airwave, BT, Quivver, Pendulum, Solarstone, Röyksopp and Massive Attack

When the pet shop boys release tracks that sound perfectly like 20 years ago why scooter can't do it? I mean the new stuff isn't that selling well so why not bring back the old days? I risk they can take. But that's were the problem is ofcourse. The new fans only new tracks like ramp, weekend, maria and one which were very lazy tracks. Most of these fans won't like the old scootersound and as there are more new fans than old they choose certainty of sales. I only buy singles for the b-sides. And the albums...I really miss the good old instrumentals. Maybe it would be better if jay stops turning in the weekend and work on new material for instead of it cause he needs time to prepare his sets and than it's just rick who's working. But yeah, money has become more important for the guys (probably also for the managent) than trying to be creative like the old days. I really miss the pianos and acid lines. I hope scooter will become faster and harder again and make some good videos again to. In the 3rd chapter there are to much live videos. hyper hyper, posse and fuck the millennium were the best live videos and they are all different. the others are silly (commercial) videos made for commercial tracks. Sad but true.

always the same story.... thereīre lots of people who prefers first, second or third chapter, or prefers 1st and 2nd or hundreds of possibilities..... have someone thought what migth they do or make to make THE WHOLE POSSE happy??? 1st, 2nd or 3rd one??? or all their styles together?? Itīs really hard to decive.... but we may think about that "senseless" rhyme (I didnīt want to say senseless but many people think that almost the lyrics are... but thatīs another story....):

"...you canīt please anyone.... so please yourself!!!"

and yes, heīs right. I think they r doing what they want but another thing is true: theyīre always changing, iīd find them real boring if they were doing always the happy hardcore or what many fans are obssesed with, like the f*****g 1st chapter...... IT WAS GREAT, YES, THE 2ND ONE WAS TOO, BUT NOW IS NOW, AND NOW WE ARE IN 3RD CHAPTER!!! thatīs what we have... u can take it or not, but thatīs all... it could be possible that they made some of this noises again, and some of the others styles but they will never be stopped in the same kinda music, well, at least they didnīt and I think they wonīt.
There can be lots of different things them to do, but theyīre doing that in that way and now. We can only like or dislike, a few more... we can almost only hope them to bring us some kinda sound of ressurrection, as they have already done... but itīs always the same story....: if they do this, manyīd prefer that..... but when they make that, the othersīd like this more....
Itīs only that they have made all that someone could make, and in fact they could make it again too, donīt they??? and of course with so many years of experience could it be even improved!!
You canīt please anyone...
SO PLEASE YOURSELF!!!!

Course the old stuff is better. Even if you still like the newer things, I'd find it hard to believe that you like it MORE than the older ones.

No, I didn't bother reading the posts other than the first one. Topics are only worth looking at once I've posted in them.

The fact that they are not so successful like in the past is against all your Scooter only want to make money theories. They produce the music they want to do at the moment. And they don't care if someone don't like it. I also think that Wgtlln and Mind the gap could be better.

I personally think a lot of people are missing the point with the whole "old Scooter is better" debate.

The problem with the current Scooter is not that the current Scooter sound is that much worse than before, or even worse in the slightest. Yeah, those that prefer the current 'sound' and there are those that prefer the earlier 'raver' sound. That's just a matter of taste. If i take each track on it's merits, i love a lot of the newer stuff. The likes of Hello, One, Maria, Rock Bottom are wicked.

But, looking at Scooter current material holistically there's clearly something not quite right. As i've said before the problem is progression.

What was so great about the 'old Scooter' was that it changed constantly between each album. You could trace Scooter's development as a band - they started out as with an old skool, ravey style mixed with melodic trance elements - this moved on to Wicked with a softer, more ambient sound along with the pianos. From this we had Age Of Love which moved in almost a synth popish direction with tracks like She Said and Hit The Drum. With NTTC and BTTHWJ we had a toughening up of this sound, which by BTTHWJ had become quite gritty, techy, "industrialized" and minimalist. Always progressing.

But somebody describe to me where Scooter's sound is going now? The last 2 albums have really just been a predictable assortment of typical "Scooter single material", generic trance and some rather random 'house/hip-hop' experiments. Scooter's sound is good, but it ain't going anywhere these days. In fact, i would argue they haven't really got a "sound' or a specific vibe to them at all anymore. As i said, the stuff they come out with today, may sound good in most cases, but it all sounds quite "mixed up" stylistically, to me.

EDIT: Btw, when MTG came out i believed Scooter were going down an electro-house route with the band with stuff like My Eyes Are Dry, Panties Wanted, The Avenger's Back and Shake That. But it's clear now that this isn't the case. WGTLLN didn't really build on this style or sound - if anything WGTLLN was just even more random stylistically - which, looking back, MTG was also to a significant degree.
