Tales of Fantasy - Club Style

Here is an original I made from scratch in three days. I might update it to fix some mixing problems, and use some of the new effects (EQUO, Multiband Compressor mainly). I am also including a zipped loop package (which includes the flp file of the track, as well as the samples I used...and the superwave p8 plug-in I used for this track...it's a free plug-in).

This is to show some of the ideas and techniques I use when creating tracks. Many ideas and techniques can be applied to just about music program, since they all want to be used to make all forms of music electronically (even non-electronic music). I'll also have a new track made with Reason which will be up later this month.

I'm going to be working on the remix I started for the N.E.O.N. Project.

Some notes on this track: If you get a error that says, "Boot from cd"...press cancel. This was caused by the Buzz Adapter, because the problem arised when I used the buzz adapter to create some of the main leads. Everything should load up, unless you don't have flstudio 6 or don't have Superwave p8 installed. I used flstudio built-in generators, superwave p8, and flstudio's effects along with my own samples.

Enjoy, and feel free to remix this track. Peace.

Tales of Fantasy - Club Style (music)

Tales of Fantasy - Club Style (Resource files) - Note: This is 8 megs because of an effect I used, and because of the Superwave P8 Plug-in

To Install Superwave P8: Use winrar, and extract the dll file into the directoy you keep external vst plug-ins at.

Default directory is usually: C:\program files\stienberg\vstplugins\

Good luck.

Thanks, a lot of tracks and practice, advice, and learning from other users has helped me. I've been using flstudio since 2001.

I'm probably going to update this track. I might extend it and use the multiband compressor in the main channel. I hope it helps and gives you ideas on how far you can take music with just flstudio generators and samples.

If anyone makes a remix, be sure to send it to me so I can post it up on my site...peace.

I used to not layer much...I'm still learning how to work with it. Certain sounds don't work, some do...it's experimentation for the most part, and some technical knowledge on sound.

Glad to help, hope to hear some tracks from you soon. Peace.

I would like to thank all of you for your kind words and support. The Main Melody I did using the C Harmonic Minor Scale (I am pretty sure it is the C harmonic Minor). I am still learning a lot on piano, there are so many chord progressions in each key...and that's only including majors and minors.

Here is a good site to learn scales and chords, but knowing chords progressions in keys I think is better for knowing how to use chords that will work together.

Piano chords made easy

This site really helped me out a lot. I try to use different scales in each song. The main melody I just experimented with Rhythm, and I used I made a melody and used an arpeggio for the 3rd main lead, which gave it some range (it still maintained a lot of the original arrangement)...and tweaked the velocity to give it a wavy type feel.

Once again, thank you all for your kind words. I really appreciate it. And expect a new track made with Reason very soon...this will be in the Trance/Hard Trance genre. I am going to just use Reason's default sounds to showcase everything I have learned with Reason.

I'm still have a lot to learn with Reason. So many connection capabilities. Looking forward to hearing some remixes, peace.

question when you remix, do you use the actualy flp file (or whatever program your using) or the mp3. Because if its the latter, it seems to me that would be super difficult.

Use the flp file. I would supply a midi, but then you wouldn't really see a lot of the techniques I use, just midi data.

But, to make it easier...just open the zip file. It's a zip file that I created using flstudio, and flstudio can read zips that it creates (zipped loop packages).

I'll have one for Reason, because I'm using Refills. I'm going to try to finish the remix I started for N.E.O.N. Project, and then do a Reason track.

After that, I might move back to using cubase or Nuendo.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL .............. !!!!!!!   Don't be angry on me =)
I just had to laugh here. It's not about you. I've seen so many people who cut the parts of several songs and then they write "Artist - Title [xxxyyy Remix]" LOL! Or even worse "xxxyyy - Title" and then they say that's it's their own track ! LOL. I hope you understand what I want to say. I don't know if someone of you already seen such people. Anyway it's so amusing to see that sometimes =)

You have to use the flp file of course if you use Fruity Loops. Or just import the midi + some samples from the original into your project.
