Wow, you fags sure know how to turn an "exciting single news" thread into another useless never-ending argument about covers, and what's best is we know nothing about this one except the name and release date yet you still somehow find something to bitch about.

And you're quite the peacekeeper yourself.

Just because someone didn't like the album doesn't mean they hate Scooter (well, maybe in Authist's case, it does). But still, the guy has a different opinion than you. Big deal. I thought "Mind The Gap" was a good album but you don't see me bashing every single person who doesn't like it as much as me.

But as far as the cover arguments and especially those of you doing nothing but saying "the single will suck0rs!", don't even bother posting. Honestly. Those of us with some faith in Scooter will wait till we hear the song before we jump to conclusions. The rest of you can sit back, use your amazing "see the future" talents in attempts to bash the group you claim to be a "fan" of. It's one thing to state your opinion but it's other to do nothing but beat your opinion of "Sc00terZ so c0mm3rcial!" into our heads every possible chance you get.

I'm done ranting.

I agree in some ways will but I can understand his frustration, i mean im sick of hearing myself doubt scooter, but your right we know nothing about his single so i think we should all stop speculating until we hear a sample. But even then people will be like "ooo the sample sucked, another gay scooter song". But thats life... eh

i have nothing more to say
fuck off

Sandra: sorry, but despite what you said, I can't imagine you don't buy this single in 20 versions - even if it's from Gary Glitter :P

So now I'm a hater too because I think that MTG was flop? Reason is that album really doesn't sound like Scooter (of course few expections). Result was maybe worst Scooter album.

But I'm waiting for new album :P
Waiting for albums from Way Out West, Sasha, Second Sun, Airwave, BT, Quivver, Pendulum, Solarstone, Röyksopp and Massive Attack

I believe it's a cover of an old Rock & Roll track from
Gary Glitter which is called "Hello! Hello! I'm Back Again"

There's also a Death-Punk-version of this track by Turbonegro, i read about it here http://designermagazine.tripod.com/TurbonegroLIVEREV1.html

Exactly i have a sample of Turbonegro version live @Quart Festival, Norway 06.07.02 (sorry that i can't post a sample here)

And it's of course with a heavy guitar riff and typical punk style. Maybe Scooter did also use a heavy guitar riff again if they really covered this track. But it seems that they never released this track on cd, they just played it on stage.

I still hope that they didn't use Gary Glitter's song, but the risk that they did it is much bigger than they didn't. And after i heard the Turbonegro version i can imagine that they made something similar with Gary Glitter's track with their electronic equipment. This hello hello it's good to back chorus is good to use for Scooter.

YOU'RE definitely not hater. You don't like Mind The Gap? Well, it depends on your taste of music, so no problem.

I had on my mind people whose saying that MTG is shit only because they don't like it.
However I must say that I never met bad opinions about this album before. Here i met it for the first time.

Yeah, waiting for new album.

I did not know much about this Gary Glitter

I think he was something like One-Hit wonder, or?
When he was singing, must be long ago.
I thought that he was a silly guy in silly clothes (glitter how the name say)

I never have heard about the bad things about him.
And I think it did not belong in a topic about the new song from Scooter. Until now we did not know how the new song sounds, so please wait until we have heard the song.

EDIT - Gary Glitter is umm - not well thought of here - he is a criminal, but those of you who keep telling me its just music are right - so I don't want to discuss it

In case they really covered Gary Glitter:

What Gary Glitter did in his life isn't my problem, it's for sure unforgivable. But when you connect music with private life of musicans you should stop listening music at all. ;-)

Success of Scooter in the U.K. decreased anyway with Shake That and Suavemente. About Billy Idol there were also a lot of rumours about drinking and drugs in past so you don't listen to Rebel Yell or Eyes without a Face anymore?

For me is more disappointing that Scooter likely covered again after all the criticism from fans referring to this. And to be honest if they did it again i don't grant them big success and million cash receipts. To make money with music is ok but not this way all the time. If you want make big money with music you should sell creative own made hits, but not sell a remix from other people hits under own name hits for years. As Authist already said i'm loosing my respect for Scooter also in the meantime.

And covering yes - I agree it would just be another cover - but for me with a big difference - it would be presumably be putting money in this mans pocket.

Is this guy still alive or isn't he in prison?

Another bad thought. Maybe this guy needs money now and disposed his song rights for this reason. But i think if you do a cover version without changing anything you don't have to ask author, but he earns automatic GEMA money with that cover version.

I hope i'm wrong with my cover speculation. But if you keep in mind the past of Scooter it's very supposable. The title is a part of lyrics the hello chorus is usable for Scooter, an old classic track from the 70's...

Me and some other people tried to wake up Scooter during the last months but i fear they prefer to destroy Scooter by themselves just cause they are to lazy to create just one 100% own made track for a single.

I am also sorry to say that I am not looking foward to this, another cover is just to much for me, i hope to dear god that this is not a cover, but i am afraid it is. If this is the case i am not sure i can support scooter anymore.
