London hold the 2012 Olympic Games

It's been decided, London is to be the city to hold the 2012 Olymic Games.

Just wondered what everyone's thoughts were on this one. Personally I have mixed feelings. I reckon it will be great for the UK as a whole because it will give us so many more facilities and really give us a chance to show ourselves, but the one thing you can't get to grips with, is how we're going to be able to cope with the vast amounts of people.

Very good for the UK but I think it will be the London council tax payers that will mainly get hit by the cost - good job I live just outside!

Yikes!

Well, before the annoucement i wasn't that bothered about it but looking at it in retrospect i feel it has to be of benefit to the country. One of the poorest areas of London is gonna get a shed load of money pumped into it and it will encourage young people into sport. Plus, you can bet your bottom dollar that it will be one of the best Olympic Games ever.

For one moment I thought it was a mentally sick French who hated London for the Olympics. But once I knew it were several bombs it was clear that this was not the case.
You never know, people can be really sick.

I know, it's awful. I'm watching the news now. It's a supposed Al Queda attack, there were 5 explosions on the underground and one on a bus in central London.

So far, the figures are 150 people seriously injured and several fatalities - 2 confirmed.

One man that died was blasted through the side on a tube train and got hit by an on-coming train.

Very sad, especially after the good news of olymics.

Yes, they only could enjoy the great feeling of getting the Olympics for one day, it seems not important anymore right now :(
