it's the whole thing about having to re-adjust

and I like it a lot in China, even though it's cold and there's virtually not much to do anymore

Oh I know that can be the most difficult feeling in the world. You don't want to leave your new home and at the same time you excited to leave. It can be really uncomfortable. Reverse culture-shock can be just as bad as regular shock. You will get through it! Be strong!

"jemanden behandeln" ist eigentlich richtig, aber in dem kontext hat es sich irgendwie schräg angehört

als wärst du eine ärztin

(as if u r a nurse who cannot treat that much patients LOL).
"to deal with" heißt -> "mit jemandem umgehen/klarkommen".
