I'v said it before and may say it again, Scooter do not care. Why would they? Chart positions have never mattered, C'est Bleu deserves higher than 77, obviously, but who cares. Certainly not me, I love the song whether other people do or not.

Stop moaning about chart positions.

Of course they care, how can they not care? - it might not be important to always be at the very top, but this will hurt - no-one could not care, apart from the fact that they are in the business to make money, support their families, they must be disappointed about this. They believe in what they do and love it very much, so I don't think they will be very happy - who would when something you put so much into does not appear to be popular :(
I also love the song very much, and really expected this one to do well, especially after the great reception it got at the Dome

Yeah, it's not nice. It dulls their chart winning strike a bit... There's nothing to do but go forward. I doubt this single will rise much if any -- and would it matter any if it became #70? They had better just concentrate on the next album, further singles from TBMU seem rather pointless.

I think everyone is being quite sensitive about this, but I don't see why. If Scooter wanted a top 10 single, they would have done a lot more to promote it. They don't promote, they barely even release CDs anymore. The charts aren't important, they sell out the shows and they've been in this industry for a long LONG time. They're not short of a few quid so I doubt money matters to them any more. I think the chart positions matter more to some posters on here than it does to the Gents' themselves.



Just my opinion maybe, but it's the impression I get.

For me the chart-positions matter only because I want the guys to get a possitive feed-back from the public (in the form of charts you get that) for what they have made. And I care about the chart positions, because they are the key factor that keeps the band having a future. When you make something, you love it when it;s appreciated, and you go on, it stimulates. When you don't feel that love due to bad charts and therefor less sales, you start thinking "Should I go on or stop?". That's why charts are important. And well, music making is a business, and everyone wants to make profit and no losses. The recent charts dont even cover the costs of the videos I would say, and I always heard that singles are there to promote the album and paying for the videos. ANd well, Kontor is a firm, and they wont invest in a loss. That;s why charts are important, it are sort of the shares of the band firm so to speak. ;)

When you don't make many CDs, how much are you investing in a single anyway? This single might have made a loss, but I doubt they will consider their future based on the sales of singles. So long as the albums keep selling, and the shows keep selling tickets, then I'm sure Scooter will keep going until they are bored.

Well, TBMU wasnt the biggest seller, and due to that it;s also more difficult to sell out shows. And that all because the single wasnt a seller, so the album didnt get many attention, which made it into a medium seller and will give the sales of tickets for the tour also a certain risk. It's a simple formula: Succesful single = Succesful album = Succesful tour. If the album would atleast still sell well, we would worry less about the single sales, but the album is gone from the charts already a long time, so thats why we worry. I understand your points Ninja, but if you want it or not, charts are the essence.....sadly it's like that, even if we dont want it to be like that ;)

Yes, no doubt the tours make more money, but to have a successful tour you have to sell tickets, which depends on popularity, which like it or not depends on exposure and charts.
Of course there are always fans who will go to gigs, but a large part of the audience are those who go because of recent success and popularity.
