So, I just signed up because I read this topic and wanted to give my opinion, too :)

David Doesnīt Eat = Okay, not usual, but nevertheless listenable
Dreams = Sounds crazy in the MC part, but all in all 3rd best track of the album!
Beyond the Invisible = Sounds totally freaked out, nothing for me
Sugary Dip = 2nd best track of the album, sounds good, a bit oldschool ^^
Itīs A Biz = Absolutely not my style
Cīest bleu = As I heard that first, I thought: "WTF they did? Vicky Leandros in Scooter sound?" But listening to it 3 or 4 times more, it became the best track of the album for me! Sounds like their album "Jumping All Over The World" in most parts :)
08-15 To Nowhere = Also not my style, sounds a bit boring
Close Your Eyes = Hm, mostly okay, but also boring...
The Only One = Okay, not more.
Sex and Drugs and RockīNīRoll = 4th best track, Vocalpart sounds very good, but sounds too much progressive in non-vocal part
Copyright = Vocalpart could have been better, non-vocal part okay
Bang Bang Club = Nothing for me, do not like this style
Summer Dream = All in all good song, but "Lalalala"-part annoys me sooo much!
Mashuia = Also nothing for me
Friends Turbo = 5th best track of the album, very fast, but thatīs no problem

So, all in all, my biilance: 2 good, 5 okay, rest nothing... In comparison to "Under The Radar Over The Top", where I had 5 good ones and 7 okay, you can see that I think sound has gone bad... But I do not like Dubstep, that could also be a thing :D

I know its a while now after release, but after listening to the album many times I'm going for "very good" - Its not the best Scooter album ever for me (which is the top choice), but its a very good album, some fantastic tracks - I know I've said it before but the only slight negative for me is the number of tracks with female vocal choruses, and the fact I don't find the female voice in a couple of tracks very pleasing to listen to.
C'est Bleu has one of the best female vocal choruses for me, so I am really happy that it will be the next single :)

I can listen to the CB chorus, but the pitch almost kills me. I hope the pitch is changed.

I can listen to the CB chorus, but the pitch almost kills me. I hope the pitch is changed.

It has some parts, that indeed sound a bit "peeepy", when she pronounces some letters, yes. Further on in the track it's getting better somehow, but in the start part the chorus needs a few letters that will be slightly made lower so to speak, to not be "peepy" ;)

Stupid question: Does Vicky have French roots. The only song I knew from her was "Theo, wir fahren nach Lodz" or something like that - and this title doesn't sound very French. Her name "Leandros" could be a Greek name...

EDIT: She has Greek roots and her real name is:

Well I left this forum after the release of the god-awful UTROTT as I was convinced that that was Scooter finished as a producer of consistantly good music. Two decent (but not groundbreaking) singles seemed to simply further this for me, but TBMU after finally giving it a listen had me pleasantly surprised. It's not amazing but it's not their worst either and has a fair few decent tunes on it. Here's my review:

David Doesn't Eat - 8/10 - Scooter mix dubstep and their own familiar style in a way only they can do it. This works quite well and the chorus is top quality but the verses are a bit weak and lacking for me. Still a good start to the album.

Dreams - 8/10 - This sounds like a combination of 'Friends' and their more modern stuff and is again your typical fine track by the band. The chorus does drag on a bit and we could do with a bit more of the soaring, deep verses and an excellent middle eight isn't enough to make it a classic.

Beyond The Invisible - 9/10 - I hated this when I first heard it but it grew on me very quickly. Given Scooter's track record of latching onto whatever craze is going round it's rather surprising that this is the only full on dubstep track on the album, and they do it exceptionally well. Alternating between HPV and HP in the verses is something they've never done before, the chorus lasts a few bars - short and sweet - and the dubstep break down is quite something. I never thought I'd like this but it is excellent.

Sugary Dip - 9/10 - This is far more like it. Classic "I'm Lonely" era Scooter - despite that clap which I've just grown to accept now - with an electro feel added to it. I'm also noticing a refreshing trend where the female voice in the chorus is no longer high pitched. My favourite track on the album at present.

It's A Biz - 7/10 - Sounds like the b*stard child of a house and a hip hop song - credit to the band, they always try something interesting like this but this time they don't pull it off too well. HP's lyrical delivery is quite interesting but the chorus drags on too long and the "Ain't Nobody" sample is almost painfully obvious. All right but could be a lot better.

C'est Bleu - 8/10 - At first this brought back painful memories of UTROTT but this is significantly improved from the several 3/4 time signature clones on that album. A cheerful, powerful melody throughout and the sampled chorus fits in very well with the song. Looking good so far.

8:15 To Nowhere - 9/10 - The first instrumental on the album and damn is it good. The house A-parts I found rather boring at first but you grow to appreciate them. The B-part is what wins the song, an emphatic, flowing piece of music that conjures up all sorts of beautiful images. Sadly it doesn't last too long, particularly in the first instance but nonetheless this is an exceptional song. The talent's still there.

Close Your Eyes - 8/10 - The band seem to be harking back to the cheesy dance-pop of the mid 00s with this one, and they do it a whole lot better than their contemporaries. HP's voice seems to be a bit off with this one - notice no muffling effect being used on his voice, at all - but the chorus and backing more than make up. Another fine song.

The Only One - 8/10 - We all know this one, and it certainly stands apart from the rest of the album with its distinctive house feel. Your typical Scooter fare but as I thought at the time, nothing really which makes it stand out from the rest of them. Good, but not great.

Sex And Drugs And Rock 'N' Roll - 8/10 - The band again trying to pander to electro dance again, and this is not a song you will forget in a hurry. The chorus in particular you'll be humming all day. The follow up to the chorus has the same drum beat we have heard already in It's A Biz and 8:15 To Nowhere but the band tend to reuse ideas anyway. Decent again, but not groundbreaking.

Copyright - 7/10 - A hilarious title but that's about where it peaks. A simplistic, rather short song that doesn't do much and nothing really new to offer aside from the unnamed rapper who ghests with HP in the verses. About it really.

Bang Bang Club - 8/10 - This reminds me a lot of "So What'cha Want" with a retro disco-style feel, or "Suavemente". In this case it is inferior to the former and far superior to the latter. Certainly a lot of interesting sounds and melodies going on here, and very unlike the rest of the album.

Summer Dream - 6/10 - And here is where the demons of UTROTT come to rest. This is a carbon copy of the mediocrity from that album with its weak, forgettable verses and rushed, nasal HPV chorus. Quickly forgotten and all the better for it.

Mashuia - 9/10 - What can I say, Scooter never fail to deliver with the trance tracks. Nothing much I can say except it has the usual flowing, patient buildup and emphatic breakdown. Sadly the band f*ck it up and prevent it from being a perfect 10 by spoiling the buildup to the C-part by replacing it with what appears to simply be noise. Nonetheless, this is an excellent end to a fine album.

The band have got my attention again. Here's to hoping they can capture it again completely by releasing an exceptional follow up. A good album - not their best, but it's up there.

C.I.F.L — I like the intro. All those robotic sounds are cosmic.

David Doesn't Eat - I like the intro and the female scream. The C part is what I wait for every time the track plays.

Dreams - ok

Beyond The Invisible - I love the pitch part. Lyrics are very dynamic and the track could be excellent but for the weak bassline and boring dubstep part.

Sugary Dip - can't listen to it.

It's A Biz - nice track. worth of being a single if they remove the boring squeaks.

C'est Bleu - Nice HP's lyrics, nice chorus, but weak bassline.

8:15 To Nowhere - 50/50

Close Your Eyes - I never listen to

The Only One - ok

Sex And Drugs And Rock 'N' Roll - Lady Gaga

Copyright - hmmm

Bang Bang Club - I like it. The samples are always different and they never cycle. They made it with the new formula A B C D C E C-E. Great track.

Summer Dream - lalalallala, nice HP's lyrics but bad chorus and melody and weak bassline

Mashuia - unexpectable

Friends Turbo - not the only one, but the hardest
Riding with me is my friend R.J.Jordan,
Knowing the rules aint part of his program,
Finding the right tune that fits the track,
Might be pretty hard cuz he's f_cked on crack!

Start the match and find the station
Reach what you can and party the nation,
A? Hey! Whatcha gonna say?
I automate the sequence and speed for my getaway
Take it to the edge, there's nowhere to hide,
And call up the crew; let's go for a joyride!

Let's go for a joyride!

David Doesn't Eat - I really like this track. Very different, yet still very Scooter. HPs rapping is great, but my favourite part of the song are all the dubstep effects, particularly in the song's massive C-part. The vocals work as well. 9/10

Dreams - I love the face that this song doesn't take itself seriously. It's just the sort of energetic and unpretentious song that Scooter excel in making. Possibly single material. 8/10

Beyond The Invisible - I really liked what I heard in the samples, but somehow the complete song is a bit underwhelming. The rap battle is great, but god knows why they had to chipmunk the other rapper, because it makes it hard to take the song seriously. If they'd kept it at the same pitch as the female vocalist, I would've much prefered it. I love the dubstep part, but do we have to hear it repeated exactly the same 3 times over? Still a good song. 7/10

Sugary Dip - My absolute favourite of the album. The rapping is perfect, I love both the melodies and the vocals are lovely. I really like the synths in the c-part as well. I can't help but crack up though when HP goes (in electronic voice) "I'm like a sugary dip" :D . 10/10

It's a Biz - This style of music isn't exactly my cup of tea, but that's overrides by how beautiful the vocals are. This was a very good choice for Scooter to cover. 7/10

8:15 To Nowhere - This one is quite interesting. I don't know what else to say except it breaks up the album nicely, and I dig it. 7/10

C'est Bleu - One of the most typical Scooter tracks on the album in my view. At first I was put off by the chick's voice, but now I've overcome that I love it. The c-part's a little strange though ?( . 8/10

Close Your Eyes - The turkey of the album. The song is essentially ruined by those god awful vocals. My cheesometer went through the roof here, and not in a good way. 4/10

The Only One - I was never crazy about this one, and I'm still not. It fits into the album well, but in my view it's filler. 5/10

Sex & Drugs & Rock n'Roll - I like this one. The vocals are very good, and the synths sound great as well. In the part after the vocals though, it sounds a bit bare to me. I feel like this could've been really good, had the band spent a little bit longer on it. 7/10

Copyright - Ok, the rapping here is really good. It'll be great to find out who the other rapper is, but HP sounds a little bit out of his league going up against him lol. The melody's great, but I feel like it's repeated ad nauseam. 7/10

Bang Bang Club - Very retro and cool. I don't know what else to say about this one since I'm not familiar with disco music. 7/10

Summer Dream - This is obviously designed to be a fan pleaser, and well it's pleased this fan. Both melodies are really great, and I love the c-part. 9/10

Mashuaia - After the terrible trance closer from UTROTT, and the ordinary one from TUAO, Scooter have once again made a track that deserves to be seen in the same league as Soultrain and Transatlantic. Very soothing and enchanting. 10/10

My overall score for this album is a 8/10. It's probably closer to a 8.5 really. I think it's by a long way the best album from the 4th chapter and easily the best album since Mind the Gap. HP sounds re-energized in this one or something; like he just got told he wasn't dying :D .

I had told myself I wold no longer follow the band if this album was cr*p, and thanks to the quality on this record by the boys, I'll be a fan for many years to come.

David Doesn't Eat 7/10
Dreams
7/10
Beyond The Invisible 9/10
Sugary Dip 8/10
It's A Biz 10/10 Sounds super fresh and new, super hot remix!
C'est Bleu 2/10 Another annoying wannabe hardstyle track. You can't use a hardstyle beat and shrink it to a pop beat. There's no power!
8:15 To Nowhere 5/10
Close Your Eyes 5/10 The female vocals are great, the rest is awful and sounds pretty much unfinished.
The Only One 8/10
Sex&Drugs&Rock 6/10 Sounds noisy to me. Bad production?
Copyright 8/10 the beat in the refrain could be harder
Bang Bang Club 7/10 disco, yay but could be longer
Summer Dream 3/10 verse melodie is nice, but all in all it doesn't fit on this album and sounds unfinished too.
Mashuaia 9/10 trance, yay!

It seems that they put much effort in those dubstep tracks which are great and failed to produce good typical Scooter tracks.

David Doesn't Eat 5/10--it's all over the place kind of track,I think I like the first half of the track better
Dreams 7/10-nice sound to it,too short though
Beyond The Invisible 1/10- I really don't like the squashhhh sounds at all here, but my mom said it's a good chillout track, especially when you're half in hangover already, well what can I say,my mom knows her partying 8)
Sugary Dip 10/10-best track here
It's A Biz 8/10 Sounds great, and I actually think if they would put Sugary dip refrain here, and It's a buz refrain in Sugary Dip that would've sounded awesome.
C'est Bleu 9/10 this was my most heard track at the beginning, but Sugary Dip caught it's place!
8:15 To Nowhere 8.15/10 :)
Close Your Eyes 5/10 This for me is kind of most forgettable track of the album, I can't hear something special here at all
The Only One 7/10 -I liked it at first, and still really like the club mix
Sex&Drugs&Rock 6/10 Familiar MTV sounds, something to play loud just for fun
Copyright 8.5/10 ORiginal, but yes,the beat in the refrain could be harder
Bang Bang Club 5.5/10 disco, yay but could be longer
Summer Dream 6.5/10 Another "for fun" track ,but all those medical depression lyrics sound to me like a hidden message to Ferris
Mashuaia 7/10 they have better album ending trance tracks imho

I think in a way my mom liked this album much more than I did,she said most tracks will get you moving on the treadmill and that's what counts for her, so it seems not only the young generation is appealed by this album

I'm really surprised this album received the mixed reviews it did, with some Scooter fans saying they hated it, that it was too different to anything they've ever released in the past.
I agree this is different to their previous albums, but that's been the same story for pretty much every album Scooter have ever given us, that's why I love Scooter!

I personally love this album!

I admit when I first heard the samples on Amazon, I wasn't sure what to expect from the full tracks. Up until then, the only track I'd heard was The Only One, and again, I'm baffled as to why it didn't chart well, it's one of my favourite and most played (524 times apparently!!) tracks ever!
So, I downloaded the album, popped it on for my commute to work the next morning and by 9am I was smitten!
There are a few tracks on there which really stand out for me, but I think Mashuaia is just genius! It's up there with the Trance Atlantic Special Live Edition imo, such a great chill out track. SMM is brilliant! I only have the standard version, but dying to hear the extended version!

TBMU has now been played more often than any of my other albums and I still can't get enough of it! A job well done I'd say
06/04/12 - Berlin O2 World - Good Friday? It was an awesome Friday!!!
12/05/12 - HMV Forum, London - Back in the UK!

If you love me or you hate me I don't give a damn!
