agree with TBMU being the new MTG, also reminds me of wicked in terms of new directions

so far every chapter has had its experimental album which lead to new music,

1st - Wicked - this album was scooters first attempt at moving away from hardcore, like TBMU it contained some old style scooter but introduced scooter to bagpipes, hps singing voice, techno ballards, house and trance, also some small hints of drum n bass

2nd - sheffield - now this whole chapter to me tried different things which is why to me it is the best one, but for me sheffield had the biggest possibility. it had a mix of the newly found trance style scooter started to do and a mix of different styled songs, like never slow down, shes the sun, a little fun with sex dwath, and the first real duet by scooter.

3rd - mind the gap - now this album was to me one of the finest to this point, ok it had no mark on its last coming (the stadium techno experience) but it had a new vibe to, and a great and in my opinion the best so far in terms of bonus material, the live cd at this point, a great bonus, but the album offered a number of styles and a look back at scooters history (all i wanna do), this album also contians the mega one always hardcore,

4th - the big mash up - before this id say the utimate aural orgasm was the most experimental 4th chapter album and in fact it really wasnt, but it did have a few ideas, a rap c part, german lyrics, a newer look at house, and some good mixes of scooter styles, hpv, trance and guitars in one song - imaginary battle, but the new album has surpassed all the older ones for extreme experimental work, this new album had a look at 2 current popular trends rather than just 1 like the last 2, and both are done well, and scooters house work here has been the best they have ever done, in ways we all knew it was coming, but dont regard the fact that scooter has left the old styles behind, this album also has some jump/hardstyle tracks and sounds from the recent jump success, and trance can also be herd.

so as you can see these 4 albums come from all 4 chapters and show they have had an experimental concept to work on

i find these types of albums the best as they offer a more complex sound, and offer new possibility

i will also say tha the big mash up is by far the best produced album from the 4th chapter, well made.

having now listened to the album in its entirety, I can say one thing.

It's the worst thing I have EVER HEARD. What were the guys thinking? I wasted money on this.

(no seriously, I quite like it. The housy tracks have a nice vibe and the shuffle-ish tracks are more powerful than on UTROTT. Only songs I don't like are Sex & Drugs & Rock'n'Roll and Bang Bang Club)

Just received the new album and i am quite surprised by it: sounds very fresh, great job Scooter.

But on a personal taste, i don't like half of the album, no energy, poor instrumentals (even the last one), horrible trendy music that could have been made by an band.

Average album : /

I just had to speak out to some of this nonsense.

WGTLLN - Great productions as usual but unspired songs
TUAO - A few good ideas muddied by terrible production and strange song structure/lack of direction
JAOTW - The absolute LOW OF LOWS for scooter. No inspiration, bad production. This was the LEAST scooter had ever been scooter.
UTROTT - A small improvement.
TBMU- Not a GREAT album but a very good one. On par with MTG for me.

If there is a next album I would expect it to be GRAND.

Haters, go listen to something else. I am fine with the Scooter we got with TBMU. Keep it rockin boys!

Opinions on music are based on personal taste - I like one album more than you do, you like the next more than me - my personal view is just that as yours is yours :)
and its rather unfair to call anyone who doesn't think TBMU is the best thing Scooter have ever done "haters" if you want haters there are plenty out there, but thankfully non here at the moment, just fans with differing views - would be a rather boring world if we all had exactly the same views ;)

Best tracks for me are:

David doesn't eat
Beyond The Invisible
Its a Biz
The Only One
Sex and Drugs and Rock'n'Roll
Summer Dream

:) David Doesn't Eat
Pretty good, especially the video. Cool sequences with the dancers.

 Dreams
My first thought was like... decent song for a gay disco.

 Beyond The Invisible
One of the best on the album. Not good but awfully cool, especially the instrumental refrain. I hate the "Nintendo sound" yet I loved this one from the first teaser.

:) Sugary Dip
The Candyman song is pretty good
and the "MC number 1" fits to my other T-shirt design :D

:) It's A Biz
Banging party song … but that´s all Michael :P

 C'est Bleu
The refrain reminds me of my Granny's era. I think she would have loved it.

:) 8:15 To Nowhere
The intro is very annoying and boring at the same time but it´s really good after 1:40 ...and yes, I was thinking about the SoulTrain title while I was listening :P

:| Close Your Eyes
That beautiful refrain deserved something so much much better to be wrapped in. I love the ending.

:) The Only One
I don´t know if DDE is better, love the colorful video however

 Sex And Drugs And Rock N Roll
Exactly as I expected when I saw the song title = extremely average

:| Copyright
What to say… not bad but among Scooter rip offs "Beweg Dein Ars*ch" is miles ahead of this one.

 Bang Bang Club
Ok, nice to hear something from the 80´s but it´s a bit too flat, shallow maybe is a better word

:) Summer Dreams
Love the refrain "laaa…lalalla…laaa…"

 Mashuaia
Feels like a hug from Rick :) Thank you!!!
Ok, I´m an old Scooter fan, I can´t help it :P

(Haven´t heard C.I.F.L. and Suck My Megamix yet)

You didn't take the good part of my quote.

You are a hater because you have a very narrow grasp and apprecation for varying musical genres. Of course you aren't a huge fan of this record. Unless you hear complex melodies that are uplifting and packaged to you in a way that is poppy and familiar, you get uncomfortable. I have been listening to all kinds of electronic music and other music for years, so can appreciate when I hear new things. Try branching out a little bit ;-) Maybe then you can appreciate the cool work that the Scooter boys did here!

I don't mean to be rude or mean, it just makes me sad when people pigeon hole themselves, musically, into a spot where they are resisting new styles. Live a little!

here's my review,

1-c.i.f.l - a standard intro, still lights out remains the best from scooter, but an ok intro, feels to me like their isnt enough

2-david doesnt eat - i like this one, good lyrics, goos used of autotune, nice bass, and a goos beat, also my fav parts are the synths and the chorus parts, good song, however i dont know if it was the best choise for a single i have a feeling it wont do so good.

3-dream - the sample made me think this was a no no for me, but after hearing the full song i have to say i really like this one, to me this is more drum n bass than dubstep as everyone says, also love the familier sounds to never slow down

4-sugary dip - i love this one, nice bit of dance and some good lyrics, both hp and the female parts, love the synths and the electro bass, one of my favs from this album

5-its a biz - i never liked the samples so much based on the well known sample, but now i like this one a lot, this has the potential to be a big hit, also sounds like an extended track like on the past, wicked song

6-c'est bleu - not a big fan of this one, nice use of hardstyle, but i find the track unfinished and a little to happy for me, however with the right changes this could be a bomb

7-8:15 to nowhere - i like this one more than i thought, a nice experimental instrumental.

8-close your eyes - this one is a bomb, should be a single, this one reminds me of a BTTHWJ style build up track, again one of my favs

9-the only one - this is a good song, but now hearing the new album, this one sounds old now, but a good song, nice bass and synths

10-sex n drugs n rock n roll - another good song, a little simple but some good beats and basslines

11-copyright - nice track, wicked synths and good team on lyrics, however i think this will be a good hit if released

12-bang bang club - i love the vibe on this one, a good instrumental

13 - summer dream - minus the hpv this is a good song, however its to similar to the last albums hits, this would have fitted better on UTROTT, also reminds me of a second stuck on replay

14 - mashuaia - this is a bomb of a finale, nice trance, one of the better ones in scooters history and proberly the best from the 4th chapter, nice kinda female lyrics

15 - friends turbo - as we know a good solid remake of a classic, nothing more to say, but i wish it was placed within the album rather than the end, sounds out of place

16- beyond the invisible - oops missed this one, i love this one, i like the mc battle of high and low and the sample was well used, also love the dubstep breaks and bass

the mega mix is just a wicked trip through scooters career and i think it was well made, could have been better, but this is a good one

havent seen the dvd yet

Seems you know me far better than I would have ever imagined - - you know about my grasp and appreciation of musical genres? I find that a bit strange as you know little about what I listen to apart from the fact that i am a Scooter fan :) Don't try to analyse me or my views please - and never call me a hater because i am not a clone of you :D I never resist a new style - its just that some appeal more to my ears than others ;) I know these styles very well because I have listened to them and enjoyed them for quite a while - I actually do listen to a wide range of music, and have to say enjoyed the likes of Skrillex live this summer.
I am not sad - or pigeoned holed - I just have opinions on what I like and find more pleasing to listen to - and I think I always said they did a great job with their work on the album and these styles ..... but never, ever, call me a hater, unless you definition of that word is rather different to mine. I have been called a fanatic for supposedly saying every track Scooter ever did is the best thing in existence, and if I dare to say 3 or 4 tracks wont be up there amongst my favourites since 1994 I am a hater???. I guess its either total fanatic or hater with absolutely nothing in between ?
Scooter music is in my soul and my existence - but as a human there will be some better than others for me as there are for you ...... and yes... I do love JAOTW :)

I just can't fathom how someone could love JAOTW when you set it next to something like BTTHJ, SHEFFIELD, or TSTE. Work with a soul, that was obviously made in more than 1 or 2 months. JAOTW was a quick and effective money grab for Scooter. Very impressive, if you ask me.

But when Scooter really makes something they are proud of, I hear it. And for you not to hear it saddens me.

I'm sorry that the fact I am not totally in love with a couple of tracks on the album saddens you - but I wont loose any sleepover it to be honest - there really nothing more to say - as taste in music is an individual thing - as much as it is in any aspect of life
I have have just watched the DVD - and i have to say it bought back great memories of an absolutely fantastic concert and a great few days in Hamburg - its great that this has been included as a bonus to the album :)

Oh stop it. You are letting personal feelings get into this. I am trying to speak on a musically intellectual level here, and you seem oblivious to that. Not my fault.

Some people are music aficionados, some people are casual listeners. I guess you fall in the latter category. There is nothing wrong with that, I just thought you seemed more in the first category. I will keep these kinds of opinions to myself in the future. :|

Its being a long time since I last logged in here.

I'm going to keep this brief for now but I had money on one of those top credit cards left so I spent it on getting TBMU last week just after it came out. I personally though that UTROTT was a bit of disaster ( only like the first half of the album. it went to hell after that! ) but I was pleasently surprised with TBMU. While there are some so so tracks on it, none of them are so bad I can't listen to them ever again ( can't say the same for UTROTT. )

So far, the ones I like the most are DDE, BTI, Dreams and Summer Dream. I'll post a full proper review at another time but to let you know, I'm pleased with the purchase and generally give the album a thumbs up from my camp. :)

Personally, I don't see what the problem is about.

Regarding JAOTW, I agree that it's a rushed album, but I don't think that have much to say. If people like the songs, they like the songs, regardless of whether they were made in a rush or perfectly produced over years. I myself like many of the songs on JAOTW, like TQ?, Cambodia, I'm Lonely (single) and Lighten Up The Sky.
I agree that the jump style and the rushed production made some of the songs sound simple and easy, and they could very well have delayed the release until February/March 2008, to get more time and better production. But if someone like JAOTW as much as BTTHJ or other, better produced albums, why make a problem out of it?
Let them enjoy the albums, even if you hate them.

I will make a review of TBMU after I've got my copy and listened through it a few times.

1.CIFL - Ok
2. David Doesn't Eat - great song
3. Dreams - Love the drum and bass, refrain is nothing special.
4. Beyond The Invisible - Love it. Freaky tune.
5. Sugary Dip - Love it. Typical Scooter power in a house sound.
6. It's A Biz - Love it.
7. C'est Bleu - Boring ripp off of their Jump/Hardstyle tunes.
8. 8:15 to Nowhere - Boring
9. Close Your Eyes - Could have been the best track on the album but this is not a bassline that i hear there. And HP screams like he's hunted by 100 hungry lions. Sounds bad in that way. Let's hope for a updated Radio Edit with real bassline. This nice refrain needs a driving bassline and a better beat too.
10. The Online One - still like that tune.
11. Sex&Drugs&Rocknroll - Good track except the "melodie" after the refrain.
12. Copyright - Awesome tune.
13. Gang Bang Club - N.I.C.E. but could be longer and a little bit more normal.
14. Summer Dream - Boring ripp off of their Jump/Hardstyle tunes.
15. Mashuaia - TRANCE! YES! With bassline. Love it!

Could have been better, but it's definetly better than i thought after JAOTW and UTROTT.

someone should tell these guys there's no shame in making an album that's only 45 minutes long! all the griping about dubstep - there really isn't that much of it on there, aside from the first few tracks. more jumpstyle. if they had cut a few tracks, this would be really great. i agree that you kind of need to take a break halfway through. it's such a pounding, non-stop thumper.

Today I finally was able to hear the new album, and wow, I was blown away! I listened to the samples, so I knew a bit what to expect, but am proud to say that the real tracks exceeded my expectations. At first after listening to the samples I asked myself the question: "Is this Scooter or just great fresh music with the name Scooter on it?". And well, I have the answer now, it's definately Scooter, although it's totally different to previous Scooter stuff, still, it really sounds and feels like Scooter 8)

The highlights on the album are for me:
- CLOSE YOUR EYES - SUGARY DIP - MASHUAIA and yes, really, also SUMMER DREAM + It's A Biz :D

CYE is my definative favourite of them all, I don't know what it is, but this track makes me very emotional and very excited whenever I listen to it, it's awesome

"Copyright" is the only track that doesnt really work for me somehow, but the rest of the tracks are solid and actually very very good, many even great tracks. I hadn't the need to skip any track, only "Copyright". Even the from the sample strange sounding frrrrrr boing schwoooosh track "Beyond The Invisible" is actually surprisingly good :)

Overall I have to say, great work Scooter! You shocked me with the samples, made me a bit unsure and mixed up about the sound after hearing them, but well, it works, sounds great and is really Scooter  Creativity and experimentalism to the max this time, love that!
H.P.'s "The Voice" - "The Myth" > He stands out all above the rest, blonder than the best! :D
