Ugh, I saw this coming when they said about doing electro/house style...popular mainstream song ripoffs:

It's a Biz contains a bit of Major Lazer - Pon de Floor. (other tracks have ripped this off too btw)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTI8Ec77RBE (0:46 onwards, compare with official FB sample of It's a Biz)

Major Lazer is not the only track that's using this kind of sounds...
For example...Peace Treaty track, which is dubstep btw...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2fp_VtztOE

So i wouldn't call it a rip off exactly..

Yeah, I also wouldn't call it a direct rip-off/sampling/whatever...

The are many songs with similiar sound, for example here's another:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXADy4fu7Og&feature=related

So it seems that they're just using typical house music elements that are oftenly applied in tracks done in this style, which is completely ok, since they're trying to do their own spin on the genre.

It's funny how everyone hates Scooter for trying out new trens and sounds and using existing sounds, but fail to see that most artists in the electronic scene does the same, more or less.

So true! And still they mostly only attack Scooter for it :S

Mainly cos Scooter are the only ones who rip off current artists...the rest tend to rip off older stuff. (even if it's just a few years, like a lot of the UK hardcore tracks that contain ripped melodies)

I don’t know if they are the only ones who do this, but I’m not surprised that if they rip something from a track that was released just two months ago (and I think they have ripped even fresher tracks), the original and usually not that known/underground artists are angry, that the Scooter guys are enjoying fame and success build upon the stolen and often uncredited ideas from their tracks. I completely condemn these practices by Scooter.

If they must, they should rip and sample either older forgotten classics or older unknown tracks and in both cases give them a new spin while at the same time promote the original artists and giving author credit where it's due.

again scooter this time have used less samples and from older tracks 70's, 80's

and i wouldnt say they are ripping artists this time, more like influence this time, anyone can do dubstep, its what you do with it that counts

Yes, it seems it's more influences this time instead of ripping. It seems to be less ripps on this album.

Bang Bang Club contains a part of New Order - Blue Monday.

(again it's better if they rip obscure tracks, as opposed to the best selling single never to reach no.1)

and the current tracks aswell, older more unknown tracks always make the best samples, its like reviving old songs

At this point, there's still fewer and older ripps than on UTROTT and possibly also JAOTW, I believe.

You could interpret "influences" in different ways, but now it seems the influences interpretations in this album will less disturb the "anti-ripping movement".

Yeah, it seems to be mostly influences and less ripps instead of mostly ripps and less influences.

Adding to the list of possible influences, I would say that Sex, Drugs and Rock’n’Roll was inspired by David Guetta ft. Rihanna - Who’s that chick?. The melody which underlies the whole Guetta song has some similarities with the melody in Sex. But it’s definitely not a direct rip-off, only similar. ;-)
