I'm on the other side. I think JAOTW had a variety, despite TQ? and ANM being almost the same song in 2 little different versions.
To my ears, UTROTT had a repetitiveness in the sound that I haven't heard in any other album. Too much of the same, too much concentrated on the hardstyle sound, much more than the jump sound on JAOTW.
To say it shorter - they used the jump sound to the max on JAOTW, but they overused the hardstyle sound on UTROTT. Not to mention the over-ripping/sampling.

Only 2 years after UTROTT, WTB... is the only song from it I really like. A few others like SOM comes close, but not that much.
So I'm glad they have a more variable sound this time, cos UTROTT was too much of the same, IMO.

Variety not to be taken litterally. Meaning, to my ears, a different sound over the album, compared to UTROTT.
To me, UTROTT had too much of just the same, while JAOTW at least had a little more different sound. I can't explain it.

Or the case just is that I overall like the jump songs more.

i found JAOTW was more the same, the claps, the jump beats, the hpv, the same kinda synths all through out the album

UTROTT was in ways similar, same basslines, the claps tand the synths, ok this one sounded more samey, but we did have a variety within,

Ok, maybe a better and easier way of explaining my view, is that I overall think the tracks on JAOTW are better than on UTROTT.
When TQ? came, it sounded so fresh, like something entirely new. But with JAH, I didn't feel that at all. New single/song, but it wasn't near as fresh as TQ?.

agree with traxx here, unfortanatly UTROTT followed JAOTW and it showed., but never the less UTROTT is a good album. as is JAOTW, as mike says, this album opened lots of new doors for scooter.

We won't able to agree on JAOTW vs. UTROTT

At least they made more of an effort with the instrumentals on JAOTW (and indeed the ripoffs, being a mix of old/new)...as opposed to UTROTT's collection of up-to-date hardstyle ripoffs with too much HP and autotune. And while it's true that a few of the JAOTW tracks sound the same, that's less than the 2/3 of UTROTT that sounds the same...

Overall I though JAOTW sounded more like a traditional Scooter album than UTROTT did.
We started in 1994....in 2012 we're still on the case!!!

agree but i find UTROTT a fresh album and a good one, minus the ripps,
now the new album is following UTROTT in terms of new sounds and not so typical scooter

Uhm.. I do not agree in this matter. Yes both JAOTW and UTROTT was theme albums. But UTROTT was MUCH better!! IMO, JAOTW was pretty goofy.

Just look at the Jumpstyle singles. 4 of 5 singles have HPV. The UTROTT singles had a much more variety.
