I agree in a way, Amazon can give a position for pre orders, but most people in Germany will buy it from a shop, thats when we will know for sure
I also assume that the sales of all 3 versions will be combined for the final chart position?

I understand selling music online was a big problem before and needed marketing but this Amazon chart position hunting sounds rather hysteric.

I think you're not right. We're just watching and trying to understand how many albums was pre-ordered (we can do it, especially with the Fan-Box, because we know how many items of it will be printed). What's hysterical in this? As I already said before, I don't give a damn about the charts, but they are very important for Scooter. And I love Scooter and want them to live many many years as a band. So... I HAVE to be interested in Scooter albums and singles be high in the charts. The modern music buisness is very harsh. No success = death.

Yes, the basic orders will be AFTER the album release, it's true. But why can't we be interested in the pre-orders chart? It's showing the interest to the band at minimal.

The amazon sales are looking really nice. But the should get the "normal" Germans in the music stores - that could make the different between TOP10 or TOP5, maybe.

That sound hysteric if anything. You know music for me is still art and should not be driven by money.

Ehhrmmm... maybe it's a language barier... dunno... but many times I said that I don't care about the charts. But Scooter cares. That's all. If we love Scooter, then we HAVE to hope for the charts nowadays. That's harsh, but true.

I agree with both of you - it is an art, but at the end of the day that art still has to pay enough to pay the bills - even artists need money to live, but also work for their art

arts was always driven by money, thats my guess!
or how should the "artist" survive otherwise?

another question is, how much individuality you're willing to drop for money.

For me music is art and I don't care about the commercial success. In the past there were garage bands which were playing their music for years and money was nothing for them. But today everything has changed. This is very sad. But I repeat, I LOVE Scooter, I want them to exist as long as possible as a band, That's why I'm trying to buy every their single, album, DVD etc. And THAT's why I'm interested in the band's charting. Hope now everythings is clear.

Maybe I'm naive but I do believe that artists from the beginning was paid only when they have delivered something unique and beautiful. Today's artists are not artists, they are businessmen and that is a big difference.
And we have more singers, bands and artists than we need, to be honest. Half of those with better quality would be enough and then they wouldn´t have to fight like they do today.
The whole entertainment industry is so self-destructive from an artistic point of view, so I do not even watch TV since 1994. I mean who the hell is interested in soap operas, big brothers and other "I don´t have a life of my own, so I look at others" s*hit. Not to mention the flood of all the low quality music that is pumping out like water from the tap.

But hey, this is only my opinion. There are lots of people who like watching big brother and soap operas and Lady Gaga and the like, my mother is one of them.

@ Scar... yes, it is a language barrier.

Absolutely agree.

Yeah, sadly it's like that nowedays :S ... and well, the big artists are BIG because of good business models to promote them, the music isn't important anymore, just a good promo business model and a bunch of cash, and boom, even cr*p can be BIG :S
