Quoted from ""Kelvo""

for me i like this song, but i would say the flop had many angles, one mainly being the lack of promo and the cd error in the shops, also i feel this song has a post behind the cow feel, it was a fresh idea, but still had the same stlye to the usual scooter tracks, im hoping DDE does well, i hope the new sound will prove to be a killer for a while

You may be right there about it being a flop due to their own mistakes and late/weak promotion, after all, a song can hardly become a hit if no one even knows it exists and if they do, they can't buy the single, because it's nowhere to be found. Maybe if they managed to avoid these things, TOO could well become much more sucessfull since it was a modern, catchy song done in a currently popular, mainstream musical style. And I'm also afraid, that DDE could end up the same fate...

But what I, as a fan of the TOO, wanted to point out, wasn't why it was a flop, but my appreciation of the fact, that after it collapsed in the charts, they didn't take the safe, so called "back to the roots" route, but stuck to the long awaited and much wished for (at least from one part of the fandom) experimatal/fresh/modern path they chose in the first place. Usually they do the opposite and play it safe.

Quoted from ""Kelvo""

this all reminds me of we are the greatest, one of the first ever scooter singles to be released in a different style

That was Break it Up . ;-) But even songs like No Fate, Rebell Yell or I'm Raving where in many aspects quite different than the typical Scooter production.

Close Your Eyes sample is online. Seems to be something like trance. This sounds pretty much oldschool Scooterish.

Close Your Eyes = pretty good! Sounding massive during HP. I have a feeling this could be an anthem like they say.

now this to me looks like its going to become the favourite of the album, nice work on close your eyes

BTW did anyone notice how the sample was cut, during hps lyrics, it suddenly cuts into the chorus, maybe their are bad language so it was remove from the sample

strange?

I have noticed that too. There is a skip between 19 and 20 second. So I hope it's really just a skip for the sample and not the final version since this would break the flow of HPs lyrics :D

These samples are not how they will sound on the album. They are cutting it so people can hear a lot of elements in the song.

Yeah i first thought that there's a mistake too but when you listen to the lyrics it could be wanted like that. "...you can join us if you CLOSE YOUR EYES...."

the official teasers are cut to show a bit of all parts of the track.
Compare the David Doesn't Eat teaser with the live video from yesterday: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XPB-OkWMFY

Close Your Eyes sounds great, only a pitty for the little cut, but if that was done only for the sample than all is ok. If the final track is like that, it would be very strange, so yeah, as some say, it's probably for the sample cut ;)

DId HP forget some lyrics in DDE, somehow it sounds a bit messy in some parts... well, soon we will know if he forgot or if it really is like that :D
