hope the album too does this, its beena while since scooter produced anything as good as the chaser and like hypa said, to me only state of mind comes close

and i agree that WBTN is one of scooter best produced albums of all time, only fault is that it really no hit potential,

Weren't Posse and Aiii shot the DJ hits? I wasn't a fan at the time and have only discovered the album retrospectively so that's a genuine question :)

We Bring the Noise (the song) I reckon would've been an excellent candidate for a third single, albeit in a remixed form. Sometimes the inclusion of electric guitars in some of Scooter's songs sounds contrived to me (like in The Revolution) but in this one it worked perfectly.

SOM is definatly the most recent Scooter song that still has the vibe and near the quality of TC, LHS and SB. That's a fact. Actually SOM at first listen reminded me of those great tracks of the past, and I LOVE it, I really do 8)
In a way looking at the JAOTW-album, the only track there that has atleast a little vibe of the tracks mentionned before in my posts is LUTS (New Version 2008 ), but that only slightly ;)

Totally agreed. State Of Mind, Sinead Remix, Discolights Remix and Ti Sento are the only 4th chapter tracks that come close to oldschool scooter.

yeah, but i would refer sinead as one of scooters newer attents at the house scene, but it is a good mix, sounded great live too, also i didnt think much of the disco lights remix either, mainly because i didnt like the song, but ti sento is a modern scooter classic, one for the history section

SOM is the best song from this chapter by far, and i agree with you on LUTS, but i find it a mid scooter track, however it is one of the best on the album,

yeah, but aiii shot the dj wasnt a massive hit, however happens to be a fan fav, other that the 2 singles, we bring the noise is the only other track to choose from for a single and i think it is a perfect album track, nothing more

agree, but i also think flopped is too harse, it is a good track and the fans love it

by the way this reminds me

i was just becoming a fan after ramp was out, in 2001,
and i always wondered what you as fans thought about aii shot the DJs flop in the charts, must have been a shock,

I also thought "Aiii shot the DJ" would reach the Top 20. Not Top10 (because it was the second single from WBTN and it was not as bomby as "Posse"), but at least Top 20 because of the happy&hard sound, the culty "Aiii", the cool electro-like-C-part, the funny video etc..
On the whole I think the first three chapters had seen more excellent singles whereas the fourth chapter has a lot of "'only' good" single releases ("Behind the Cow", "Lass uns tanzen", "Stuck on replay", "Friends Turbo",...).

yeah only the question? has really reached the heights of the old days in terms of chart success

i really hope scooter can make more top 10s,

the recent interview where hp mentioned the uk success and top 10s in the uk makes me think that their back to the roots could well be the 2001-2003 era coming in again

I'm not an expert in questions of production, but in my opinion (or in my ears ;) ) the sound quality of the fourth chapter albums and singles is not better than the sound quality of the third chapter albums and singles. I was surprised how fresh tracks like "Weekend", "Hello" or "Priviledged to Witness" still sound today.
There is a big difference in sound quality between the first and the second chapter, a small, but important quality step to the third chapter and most fourth chapter tracks are on the same level or even worse than the third chapter songs.

In my opinion the production quality of the first chapter tracks was better than almost anything in that genre released at the same time! And I still prefer this sound! Just listen to my favorite album, Wicked! What a RICH sound production, amazing!

Totally agree. 4th chapter tracks consist of lazy productions, lazy loop using and tons of samplers instead of real synths (software or hardware). If they had just TRIED they could have made something better. They don't seem to get that how GOOD the track sounds (dynamically) has a LOT to do with how much people will listen to it. Not just the song writing itself.

I heard the albums 'Under the Radar Over The Top' and 'We bring the Noise!' during playing Grand Theft Auto today. And I must say, both are working very well but 'Noise' got a better flow because it has more diversity instead 10 tracks in the same style (Only Second Skin & Mesmerized aren't Hardstyle on 'Radar').

So, if you ask me, a album like 'We bring the Noise!' would entertain me more. :)

both are good albums, and WBTN is a fine album

also agree with the production quality, it seems the 4th isnt as well made as the 3rd, and i agree that the 1st had some amazing tunes and a really good sound in those times

by the way, the production level is maybe higher than in the past but the quality seems not be okay. The Single Version of 'The Sound Above My Hair' sounds very noisy when everything is played (drums, bass, melody).

No Fate is also a timeless hit, and yet it failed too in the charts somehow..... sometimes it's hard to predict what the masses like, but one thing is sure, the fans love NF, just as most love AiiSTDJ :)

aii shot the DJ is awesome, but compare it with nessaja... the latter sounds just much more powerful , its full of tension, whereas ishotDJ sounds like some "groove" ... nearly chillOut-like... thats the problem , i guess

there no doubt that aiii shot the dj and no fate are great tracks,
i guess no fate was an unexpected track at the time, everyone expected a harder tune i guess, and aiii shot the dj i guess it was the ali g reference that possibly ruined its success

no fate came out at the time of euroDance so not that unexpected, bearing in mind that before already there has been relased im raving which is even more untypical 4 scooter.

as for i shot the DJ, i dont thing its the "wrong" image, but the track itself..

No Fate was a cover (like I'm Raving) so it's not that surprising that it didn't chart, but Aiii Shot The DJ was a full original track, which came out right at the apogee of eurodance and had everything to become a hit ! Just listen to the chorus synthline, it simply kicks ass, even the high pitched vocal is catchy, I don't understand why it failed to chart.

Concerning Nessaja, the synthline is great, the verses are ok but the high pitched vocal bridges are just a PAIN in the ears each time I hear them >< It just ruins all the song ! And this one became n°1...
