This seems to be the single most ridiculous release yet from Scooter. V.v.lazy. Not too dissimiliar to the original Friends, but not many changes either. Not enough to warrant a single release. Wont be buying this.

actually yes, although I like this version much more than the original Friends (I barely hear it), but still...

There is no club mix, no extended and no b-side. Just a Drum 'n Bass edit...
The reason for that is probably because they (maybe unexpected) dropped TOO, so it's Scooters fault.

I hope they get their things right next time and release TOO as single with the usual club/ex./rem/b-side stuff.

I like the Drum 'n' Bass mix the most :)

More and more I think the drum 'n' bass version is absolutely wicked. It's unlike anything I've heard, it combines two different styles and they fit. I can imagine it might work very well in clubs. I think the new album will bring them back on the map.

Agree that it doesn't feel like a proper single -- and I think it's so only namely. It's pretty much promotion for the movie. I think TOO or whatever the true single will be, will have a b-side and club mix.
 This is a signature.

Seriously loving the new version and the D&B mix seems like it will kick ass
Can't wait for the full release as this was one of my fave Scooter tracks anyway :)

Friends, though, was one of the worst tracks of the first chapter. Too childish.

Come on, guys, we knew this was gonna be a remake of Friends for this movie, on request. We knew it probably would be little changed.
It's understandable that you may be disappointed, but stop complaining, already. It won't bring you anywhere.

Like Manny says in the other FT topic:
It's a remake for a movie, you can't expect much from that. And why not see FT as an extra single?

We should see this FRIENDS TURBO single more as a sort o bonus single, an in between single, to make the waiting time for the real first single of the new 2011 a bit shorter. And in the end, the single is made entirely to promote the NEW KIDS movie, and it will do that job as far as I can hear. It was already clear since weeks that it would be a FRIENDS remake, and to the movie a freshened up happy hardcore tune that has once proven to be succesfull, fits like a glove, so does the title, because the movie is about a bunch of friends. And I'm glad we have more a sort of improvements and additions on the original FRIENDS, than real major changes. It keeps the soul of the original, and improves and freshens it up. So as a remake I still consider Scooter did an excellent job.

Some say that we don't need this new FT track, but why in that case many yet wanted a release of MYA 2010, because that would have also been a remake in the way FT was done I would say. So I think all that wishing for MYA 2010 made Scooter maybe also realize that fans would want a remake of an old classic as a single or album track. I'm not planning to attack anyone with this statement though. We all have our own taste and wishes, but I just wanted to point this out ;)

lol you all must have shrimps in your ears. the new version is TOTALLY different from the original, and totally awesome.
nowadays there isnt a similar fast hardcore tune out there.

but i find the d'n'b mix extremely disappointing. theres only a variated drumloop. so lame...

This seems to be the single most ridiculous release yet from Scooter. V.v.lazy. Not too dissimiliar to the original Friends, but not many changes either. Not enough to warrant a single release. Wont be buying this.

Lets hope TOO and the future releases are fresh and original. Not a money making opportunity like this, to take more money from fanatics fooled into buying a new Scooter release when really its just a re-release of a nigh on 20 year old tune.

Must ...try ... harder ... Scooter.

I also view this as a very nice "extra" release. It's warranted as a single release because it's the theme tune from a movie. It's not so much about a re-release of an old track as a new movie wanting a new version of a Scooter track as it's theme tune in my opinion, also in my opinion it's better than the original (which was not one of my favourite tracks). I will be buying it, and hope I can buy the drum and bass mix
The new tracks and the new album are still to com :)

I agree with Sandra, it's a nice "extra" for us all to have and, to me, it sounds fantastic. Hope they play it live in June. I reckon if they played it first to us all live in concerts, we would all be begging them to release it as a single as many people did with Hyper Hyper. :P

to similar to the old one.. if it´s not I´m a bit disappointed..

it was always guaranteed, as it was a re release which was edited, i was expecting this, i will admit thought, i never thought there was gonna be any new lyrics

I really like it, Autotune works surprisingly well on the HPV

my thoughts exactly, it works well, you could here this in stuck on replay too, but it seems better on friends turbo

just a little update to original version....I expected it to be much more different.

again, it is ment to be a re release in a updated verison

Especially the D'n'B mix! I think it's possible the new album will have some of that style

maybe, rick did say progressive, and drum n bass can be progressive, look at prodigy

Hope to hear this in Inferno

it is most likey to be played, they wont go through all this work just to leave it out, im thinking friends turbo live with the last part in DnB form

From the samples it sounds that it indeed can beat the original.

the original was always gonna be hard to beat, it was well produced IMO, but it seems the updated version to me also is better,

This remake sounds excellent. Scooter did as I expected, they were able to make a classic even better than the original. It sounds fresh and catchy and has respected the original from Scooter from the year 1995. I´m so happy !!!!

same here, i expected it to sound like this, so no real suprise, but i like it, should do well.

I suppose that the fact you didn´t liked the original that much, is the reason this remake is also not to your taste

to be honest i never really liked it so much either, but now, :D

They just did the same trick as with the "new" how much is the fish from the tour.
Just new drums, new bass, more H.P. shouts, and keep the rest the same.

well as said it was ment to be a re edit, not a new track., however, im glad there is some changes in it, but i kinda wanted it to sound as it did,
im guesing the difference between this re edit and fish is that it is gonna be released, so some changes were nessasary.

Anyone have a clue about which 2 versions will be on the physical 2-track single? As Friends Turbo (Movie Version) and Friends Turbo sounds the same, I expect 1 of those + Drum 'n' Bass Mix to be on the 2-track.

well im guesing on prices, the single is selling for 3.49, the full mp3 download is selling for 2.73, and that is for all 3, so maybe the single will be the same
if not i can see it bieng friends turbo and the dnb mix

This seems to be the single most ridiculous release yet from Scooter.

not really, it would have never happened if it wasnt a request, and AGAIN it is a re release, this was always expected, count yourself lucky there is some changes.

Well a whole album remake of The Beat Goes On would be better than Scooter trying to come up with new tunes. Friends, though, was one of the worst tracks of the first chapter. Too childish.

i agree with it being the worst, it aint a fav of mine either, but the re edit has made a welcome change, also slowly but surley scooter are re editing ATBGO
move your ass had a slight re edit in 2010, waiting for spring has been tranced up, endless summer got a similar re edit like friends turbo, hyper hyper got an awsome re edit and finaly friends, that is half the album so far.

I hope we get the Drum&bass mix live

me too, would blow us away, but i think the new friends with an dnb ending.

well alltogether i like the sound of it, the new fast bassdrum, autotune hpv, extra lyrics

the only bad points to me are they all sound the same, but it is early times yet, they could have different starts

and a major for me is i hoped hp would once again use the mega phone style on the lyrics.

I think FT sounds very good. I like the new lyrics. The instrumental part is kicking ass! I still hate the HPV.
The D'n'B mix is OK too, but I prefer FT.
