i think the cover looks good, and edgar was pretty close in the idea with the new kids version

i recon scooter will be on the back

now the real thing is what will it be like
will it be a strait re edit of friends, (like the re edit of HMItF)
or will it be changed, more lyrics, or the same,
also i know wonder who will do the hpv, ferris did the original, maybe mike :D, that is if there is any
and finaly what style will it be?

also i wonder if the only one could be the b side

im getting more and more exited, it seems everyday, we get some kinda news, next up the tracklist, followed by the samples and finally the video,

I'm really curious what Scooter have made of it, but I think and hope it's more than just a changed bassline. But well, it was a masterpiece as original, so I don't know what really to change to make it even better. Maybe there will be some extra HP lyrics or so, but I think the changes won't be major, but yet there will be changes enough to let it sound fresh and contemporary inkeeping the 90s happy hardcore vibe. The HPV could be re-recorded, or even could be sung by a lady's voice, I think the last because of the fact that Paul Elstaks Turbo also uses a ladies voice, and actually most tracks on the soundtrack use a ladies voice ;)

i hope so in a way

the bad thing about changing it is that you will lose the original feel to it
and i dont wanna see friends fade out of history
i hope in a way it is just a new version like the others so far, all the re edits have been better so far and i see the same result now
having a re release has its advantages for possible new remixes, and the clubmix if any will be the best way to experiment with the song with out destroying the original to much

be intresting to see what the b side will be as this could give us an insight of what is coming on the new album, it proberly wont but the way it is made to me normally give a feel of the new productions

It's really hard to guess what Scooter have done to Friends, but sometimes a little change can have an epic effect. Just compare HH '94 and HH 2004, not many changes, but what has been added made the track far better than it originally was. So I do hope FRIENDS TURBO will blow us away in a similar way :thumbup:

It's not weird, the movie is originally a dutch movie releases last year in the netherlands. It's been snynched to german and now being releases in Germany ;)

Just an idea; what about an Elstak mix of the Friends Turbo on the single? Wouldn't be impossible, if there has only been enough time.

At any rate, I too think that it will be an improvement, just like all the other reworks and updates they've done to tracks during the years. Probably it will sound massive. But I have a feeling it won't be happy hardcore -- nice as that might be -- but something else, a huge sound but with hh elements. I might be wrong, of course. The high-pitch voice might be recorded again, maybe even in a different style. Would be nice to hear Kamala or Nikk (but not pitched so up). Since they've bothered to do this, I really hope they've paid attention to this new version so that it will be worth releasing as a new release.


Also, damn, I was wishing the video were here already. :P Maybe tomorrow?

It has to be Happy Hardcore style due to the movie, an electro Friends wouldn't fit for example. Paul Elstaks track was also a sort of new millennium happy hardcore track, so Scooter's Friends Turbo will for sure be happy hardcore style, no doubt about it, otherwise it wouldn't fit to the movie.

A Paul Elstak remix would be a nice idea, but somehow I think we won;t get any remixes, but let's see, who knows :D

seeing that it's only a 2-track single (it sucks but it makes sense considering the price), maybe Friends Turbo is the main track here so they just removed Only One from the title, although it will be featured on the FT single, as a teaser for the new sound and the new album...just a speculation...
it could also be some other version of FT (extended, club), remix (unlikely) or a completely new b-side made for this single (because Only One may be more important then being another b-side, maybe it's meant to be a stand-alone single)...
