I can't remember Rick hinting at distorted vocals, who came up with this?

MEA a.k.a. AEM did the hint on the forum this week ;) Well, it's not sure if it was a hint, but it was a reaction on TFD's post about that he doesn't want a HPV refrain, and MEA said "What about a distorted vocal with lyrics from the early 90s" ;)

According to an interview done with HP by Czech news, the single will indeed be released in April!

Quoted

Announcer: (band history blah blah blah)... yesterday the band had a concert in Brno, and VIP news had an exclusive interview with them.

Announcer: A Carnaval of lights, female dancers, and people. That is how Friday's Scooter concert looked. 54 year old frontman H.P. Baxxter left no doubt that he could still make the crowd go insane.

H.P. : This is one of the reasons why we love to make music. Get the feeling from the crowd and at the same time, we enjoy a wicked party! It's plainly obvious to see from the beginning when you look at a crowd to see if the show will work out well, or not. But most of the time you know it will work out , and it will be a really enjoyable evening.

Announcer: This the band confirmed in Brno, and also that there were no new tracks played.

H.P. : The last album came out two years ago; we are still working very hard in the album each day.In April, the new single will come out, and the new Album will be out in August .

Announcer: The band has planned many activities during the rest of the year

H.P. : We are doing our biggest show ever in Germany, we are also doing music for a film. Then, April's single, and all the festivals we make and play. So it will be a pretty busy year.

Announcer: So, people who want another dose of Scooter must wait till June 26th, when the band is having their largest concert in Hamburg. (LOL, they got the date wrong :P ).

The reporter then announces herself, and the report ends.

Damn, I'm so excited about all those cool things...and the single in april will be the best present for my 24th birthday (11.04.). :)
P.S. Hahaha...what a funny mistake in the interview...it's written that H.P. is 54 years old! :D

from what I've heard so far, it seems that my worst fears will come true and that's Scooter releasing an electro/house single (as if Shake That wasn't bad already)...I just PRAY that the album is not another concept album like UTTROT and JAOTW, at least not electro/house album! that would definitely mean a rock bottom for Scooter, at least in my eyes...

It can't get worse than JAOTW and UTROTT. So i'm really looking forward to the new album. And Rick said that it's a bit slower than usual (or probably just slower than hardstyle) but still powerful. They don't want a boring house album. I'm sure.

And Rick said too that we will get 2 or 3 hardstyle and/or jumpstyle tracks. So it will never be 100% house + Rick said also it will be slower than the last ones, but still energetic.

They still haven't said anywhere that the album will be house or electro. House, I think, they have never even mentioned. "Electro" they mentioned along with "progressive", as influences (and that still doesn't mean much at all -- those are so broad words).
AND both HP and Rick have described this up-coming single as massive, I don't think they'd describe an electro house track in such terms. 8)
I simply don't think this album will be any nauseating or cheap electro house after all the time, effort, and experimenting they've gone through. They could have done such an album in a month.

Every single was called "massive". I don't believe any of their opinion about how great the single and album will be untill I listened to it.

I expect it to be an album that would fit in parts atleast to the latest fasion of club music, but am sure that Scooter give their own twist to that tracks, so it will be a fresh up to date Scooter sound, we might get a few surprises here and there, but like Rick said, the typical Scooter energy will be there, and that's one of the main points. But for sure we will hear many progressive and electro influenced songs, that's in fashion nowedays, and would give the Scooter sound a fresh vibe. But I'm sure they are carefull with how much electro sounds to use, to not make the album sound not Scooterish ;)

no jumpstyle and hardstyle singles but 2-3 album tracks in that style. probably 4 singles. so already 7 single track and nothing like 'like hype said' or 'seven bridges'. and probably lyrics all the way and 1 instrumental. or the hardstyletrack would be instrumental which won't be good anyway. they talk about 90s so it's a cover/rip but probably not as powerful as back than...

it's really time for the new single cause there are too many questions for everyone!

Well, in a way we have info about the album, but also no info. It's all very surficial info at the moment, but soon we should get the single that might give us a clue about what sort of music Scooter were describing in their latest interviews. I expect quite a musical surprise, a sound we all maybe didn't expected, like Shake That! back in the days ;)
