Honestly I never thought about dangers during big gigs. But after the love parade drama and the big problem in Helsinki I am happy all scooter concerts went well so far. Hope the Techno Inferno in June 25 will be as good managed as the JAOTW & UTROTT gig in Hamburg in 2008 and 2010.

Same here, after the loveparade drama it really made me realise that similar things also could happen on other shows or gigs. But as you say, JAOTW 2008 and UTROTT 2010 were very well managed by security and their sort of "general" that shouted comments to the queue. And as the Inferno is also in Hamburg, I think the security should be similar. But a good security and good venue is a real must if you want to have lot's of people inside it otherwise you get stuff like in Finland as we now know. Suddenly I like the "general" of Hambrg 2010 more, because that day I considered that guy a bit too harsh, but now I see why he had to show his presence and power to the queue ;)

yeah thats true. I remember everybody was a bit angry (as I was) when the "generals" screamed "Dont run, walk!" but everybody wanted to be in the first row. Now I fully understand the behavior of the security.

why didn't they choose a venue for up to 4.000 to 5.000 people?

Thank you for the full explanation :)

So its just a problem with the venue, that place needs to be sorted out...

Aganim: Well, that's what i'm also been wondering. Here in Finland we have lot's of other places to keep this sort of events, like icerings where the biggest events are usually held, like Hartwall Arena in Helsinki (maximum capacity for concerts 15 000 people) and HK Arena in Turku (maximum capacity of 11 820 people) and they are the 2 biggest places in Finland. In them should be enough space for everyone. It's not been publiced why a nightclub was chosen. I mean fans came all the way from sweden and liethuania (I met few there) so it was not just finnish fans. Although there are many of us.

Almanac: Yeah, that's right. Unfortunately the organizers of the gig made a big miscalculation of how many tickets they could sell and get away with. In todays webnews in Finland the organizer claimed that many people who bought a ticket didn't come just to see Scooter ---- Yeah, right ---- You buy a 30e ticket just to get in a restaurant and maybe drink some beer. Sounds bullshit to me. Everybody that night had bought a ticket to see Scooter performing, not to see the downstairs WC.

Yet again, band like Scooter doesn't belong in small clubs like Onnela (which has 2 floors and maximum capacity of 2700 people in whole club.) The place upstairs where Scooter performed has only room for 700-1500 people. When you sell 2700 tickets, you got yourself a problem when everybody wants something in return for their money and that's what gets the paying customers mad and fights ensue. Of course if you want to have a small clubnight, the prices would be skyhigh. I mean the athmosphere there would then be totally different than in a massive stadium. Sort of like a VIP night. Onnela didn't succeed in that. Too greedy organizers.

So ultimately it's probably the Finnish greedyness that is the problem. When you've got place which can carry 2700 people and you 'sell x2' more tickets than should... Voilá, there you have it.

Many people have send email to the organizers to demand their money back, but that doesn't help with the unseen concert. That's gone for good, no money can replace that. I feel just bad for those who came for a long way to see Scooter and didn't see a thing. What comes to my own gig experience that night, I didn't see a thing from the far back, only bright lights and music.

Festival is called RIIHIMÄKI ROCK and it's held at Riihimäki at 1.-2.7.2011 in the place called Messupuisto. I've never been there, so i don't know more. They begin to sell tickets at 25.2. Scooter is at stage friday 1.7.2011 accurate time it's not been told yet. Hoping that this one goes better than gig in Vantaa, which sucked. Thank god it's open air festival, so surely this time everyone will see the band.

It's true (at least if the organizer can be trusted -- and I think it can be):

http://www.riihimakirock.fi/RIIHIMAKIROCK/index.html

Anyway, I think I'll be there (if I've survived Inferno a few days before), I've missed too many Finland gigs already. As it's an outdoor festival and summer it attracts me...
 This is a signature.

And Riihimäki is very easy place to come by train or bus or so. The location is very good. About he festival itself I have no idea. Never been there (Riihimäki as a city I know even too well though... :D ) but should be ok... I've got friends that have been there many times. I don't live near to Riihimäki any more so I don't know so much about the festivals they're having there...
