In a way it's also easier to write lyrics by hand I suppose...one can scratch a bit and so on....and one can put it on piles, and one can atleast see what one has done during the day ;) I think most artists write by hand, atleast I often saw that. HP's not the only one in this ;) It's more relaxing I suppose and one cna do it on the beach or anywhere in fact, when one has a pencil and paper, and the right idea comes ;)

many fans would love to read things like "the third track is going to be huge. hp is very excited about the refrain... stay tuned. -r."

Erm... nope. 'Cause then everyone on the whole damn forum would be excited, and everything would be about the new track's refrain. People would start topics to come up with fictional lyrics, launch a poll about the whole thing, and hype it up so much that it would get such an anticipation like when God himself walked out of the Internet. All of this just 'cause someone stated that "H.P. is very excited". You people work this simple way. We all do.

edit: before you'd think, I'm absolutely not against being excited about new stuff (I always bounce on my a55 the last days before release) :) but I don't want some Facebook updating staff to control when we have to be excited. It's very easy to make a group of people (like us) go mad with proper psychology and social engineering ;)

That's a fact. Give us a clever hint, and our hearts will jump all over the place....so true :D

Exactly. Like the news about progressive & house elements ;) It may only mean a few eletronic plucks in the tracks. Yet who didn't have euphoria (or nightmares :D) after that?

:D Hah, true, but all of that happens anyway whenever a new album is getting closer!

but I don't want some Facebook updating staff to control when we have to be excited. It's very easy to make a group of people (like us) go mad with proper psychology and social engineering ;)

I don't want that either, I want the guys themselves to write the things. And if that counts as "mind controlling" then I don't oppose it. A line has to be drawn somewhere, after all.

Yeah, I think it's easier to write lyrics and rhymes by hand, and I think I would do it that way too. Easier to shape on the paper and one can do it anywhere. But wasn't it HP who found jumpstyle from youtube? So I wouldn't say that he doesn't use computers at all (you don't have to love computers to use them, I dislike them too but use them just the same). Plus, I don't think it would be that much a sacrifice if he wrote in twitter every once in a while -- Rick or Michael could do it too, or all of them decide together what to write.

Many people were shocked by the news, and got the "darkest" ideas about how the sound would be....a mass panic :D :D But luckily also some were in mass euphoria :D .... this really showed what a tiny bit of info can do, and the ideas went wild :D

A good example indeed... If I was an artist I would drop such hints just to make those reactions happen. :D And they could get some new ideas from fans that way, too! ("Hey, here's an idea, let's make half of the album electro house like these guys fear!") I hope they will read this topic and maybe start to think about dropping us some news... 8)

As an artist it would for sure be funny to read what a little announcement can cause, and one could check if the direction one would like to be going into would be appreciated by the fans :D :D And as you say, some fans might give tips that could really be usefull to get new ideas as an artist.

Although I only criticized her unwillingness to familiarize herself properly with our side of the debate. That, in turn, let to somewhat of a tantrum on her part. I don't wanna add fuel to the fire or anything but I felt she reacted rather immaturely. My initial response only highlighted her mistake in failing to see what we're actually asking Scooter to do with social networking platforms. It's a mistake that has been repeated frequently, and it doesn't seem as if you fully understand what those of us you're misunderstanding are trying to say.

We're not asking for something so intimate as to what colour H.P's underwear is today... I mean, it's just ridiculous to EVEN think that's what we're suggesting.
Bullshit, private Powler!

So now, you beat me I'm quit, and I'll leave the forum for an indefinite time. ;( Cool! Congrats, you are a winner! Hey!
At the moment: Here is enough space for broken dreams! ;( ;( ;(

I'd rather have the band update the official web page a little more often rather than updating on" social" websites

It's true. Rick was interviewed in Bulgaria, and he told us that the style will be progressive and electro.

Back to the topic, they COULD write news on Facebook. When Scooter came to Hungary last year, they had an interview.

Quoted

HP: Rick sleeps through the whole day, Michael plays with his iPhone and hanging on his facebook account, and...
Michael: And you always look for old cars on the internet!

Well, text is not exactly the same, but there's nothing to talk about, they are simply too lazy to write news.

As I recall, he said the sound is inspired by those genres, not that it is those genres. :!: And at any rate, I wouldn't take anything said at so early phase too seriously, since things change and I think the end result will be much more diversity than just inspiration from those genres.

Anyone can use facebook and twitter, I don't think anyone thinks the guys don't have the technical know-how of how to use sites that are designed to be so easy that anyone can use them... They aren't hopelessly stupid. :D Except in the respect that they don't realize the potential of it. But then again they might, and they might just want to rely on their old strategies. Or then simply not care about anything since things are going well enough as it is.

Watch out, Rick only said there will be prog & electro ELEMENTS, not that their style would be any of those. You don't want people here to commit suicide, don't you :P

They don't have to care about it. They have their own management staff who control the whole career of the band. Don't have daydreams about the three guys coming up with the ideas - every concept comes from their production marketing crew. Of course, they are the ones who decide wether to take steps or not, but if the management says "hey, this time electro stuff is the sh1t!", be sure to expect a lot of electro influences in forthcoming Scooter tracks.

That's simply bullsh*t. No way they'd accept such way of working, and no way any artist could work under such conditions. Something like this might apply to some brainless American celebrity/singer (and I don't call them artists) but definitely not to a real band like Scooter. It's just ridiculous. Sure, Jens has recommended them a song at times (Stuck On Replay if I remember right :cursing: ) but not he or any shadowy completely-unknown / hidden-in-background team is controlling them.
