Best single from Under The Radar Over The Top

What is the best single from UTROTT?

A total of 31 Votes have been submitted.

32%

J'Adore Hardcore (10)

39%

Ti Sento (12)

26%

The Sound Above My Hair (8)

3%

Stuck On Replay (1)

I guess now that Scooter are working on new material, the UTROTT era is over. So I suppose it's time to decide what our favourite single is ;)

Each single has pros and cons for me, here are mine:

J'Adore Hardcore:
Pros:
Wicked single, easily the hardest UTROTT single
Great crowd chorus
Megastylez remix is amazing
Dushbag is a really great chillout track 8)
Cons:
Too much sampling, but it's still good
The dance is harder to learn than jumpstyle :P

Ti Sento:
Pros:
Very cool sample from Antonella Ruggiero
Different from regular Scooter style, but still great single
Scarborough Reloaded is really one of the best Scooter tracks ever 8o
Cons:
The remixes aren't too good, club mix is OK though
The track is an acquired taste, one needs to get used to it

The Sound Above My Hair:
Pros:
Very cool sound, unique, and hard!
Awesome crowd "Whooaaa!" sample 8)
AMAZING B-Side, one of my favourite 4th chapter tracks for sure
Cons:
A bit to simple
Electro remix isn't even electro, it's just strange :P

Stuck On Replay
Pros:
Nice dance track
Great lyrics by H.P. 8)
I like the changes from the album version :D
P.U.C.K. is really wicked
Cons:
The melody is once again sampled, but it's a great melody, so I'm kind of in the middle on this one
No remixes at all, only a cut version of Metropolis and the same old Ti Sento
The H.P.V. is a bit harsh on my ears

Overall, I have decided to vote for TSAMH. The electro mix is really the only thing holding it down, Lucullus is my favourite B-Side, and of course the track itself is WICKED!!!!!!

It's very hard to choose, I think. But let's see:

J'adore Hardcore is great, I think. It has got a very special summer feeling for me. I like the main melody of the track and the part after the chorus.
The auto-tune parts fit the song well.
I can say the same about the club mix and the extended. The remixes are ok.
Dushbag is nice, with cool piano melody and a J'adorable C-part. Sometimes, after listening to hard tracks, it's too slow.
Video is cool, nice place to shoot vids :) 9/10

Ti Sento is very well done. Auto-Tune parts are just awesome and the melody of the C-part. I don't like the female vocals that much.
Club mix is ok, extended is very good.
Scarborough Reloaded is the best track on the single. One of the best Scooter tracks.
Video is awesome. It has got a unique style. 9/10

The Sound Above My Hair is good. Album version is better, but it's great to hear it live.
Club Mix is great, sounds a bit drunken :P
Extended is nice, I think.
And Lucullus is another bomb attack.
Video is not so good. It's boring to see the hard smiling crowd through more than a minute. I don't like when crowd is showed too much. And those random German ladies are ugly.
They should put in Karolina, Giedre, Gabija and Tam (or Irma) 7/10

Stuck On Replay good, though the HPV is a bit cheesy.
Club Mix is the best from the single, with that melody during the whole track. I just love the deeeep vocals in it :D
Extended shows the single's atmosphere just as the club mix. The atmosphere...I can't write down it with words, but I think you know what I mean.
P.U.C.K. is great, with the scattered vocals and all.
Vid is boring. Too much hockey scans and nothing special at all. 7/10 (only because of the atmosphere)

So, for me they are JH and TS. Can't decide :P
Feel the energy inside!

Ti Sento for me :) then J'adore then SOR and to be honest I don't really like TSAMH but its not the worst least favourable Scooter single ever in my opinion that's She's The Sun or and Apache Rocks The Bottom.

I would have chosen SOR if it had the full club/extended mix, but J'adore Hardcore is a great single in my opinion.

Whilst it's by far the most negatively received single from the album, Stuck On Replay is still my personal favourite. The synths, the HPV and the catchy melody made me feel like this track is another one of those underrated and underexposed pieces that had the potential to accomplish so much more. It was monstrously let down by the omission of the five minute extended version, which was presumably to make way for Ti Sento and Metropolis (they shouldn't have been there). And there was also the rather tedious video being nothing more than a randomized hockey footage compilation. It was all just rushed and failed on so many levels. But it shouldn't have done, and it annoys me a little.

Yeah, the tour version is just darling. And the club mix is a hoot and a half. It should have been just a little longer to lengthen the awesome sound and listening experience. But it is still pretty darn fantastic in its final form. So even while it's my most cherished bit of the album and still somewhat delicious subsequent single release, it wasn't without its many little flaws. And it's a shame the Hockey Championship didn't do more to promote it. However I feel the single itself let itself down in a way. :(

Well, time to inject the facts.

J'adore Hardcore

A bit special, in the way of telling how the sound on the album worked out. It's good and hard, though it's grew a bit boring on me.
The Club and Extended Mixes are nice, but the Club Mix could have been without the deep male voice.
Dushbag is awesome, I think the first real touch of the old days. The piano, the sounds from the very start - good stuff

The video is cool, though again, too much HP and too little Rick and Michael.
The cover is boring, showing only HP once again...

7/10

Ti Sento
This is very good! Good sounds, beat, melodies, and the autotune effect works nice. The female vocals are ok, but a bit annoying over time, I think. The video is the first good one for ages, having a story.
The Extended Mix is great, one of the best for a long time. Scarb. Reloaded is an awesome B-side, the best track on the whole single.

The VIP Room Club Mix sucks. This is the bad spot on the single.
The cover is nice, but somehow also a bit boring.

9/10

The Sound Above My Hair
A good track, with HP finally singing again. The album version is nice, hard and fast. But again, it lacks something, to make it one of those songs I'll forever love. The Extended Mix is nice.
The Electro Mix... well, once again a Club Mix that sucks...
Lucullus is a very good B-side, I think again the best track on the single.

The club mix, together with only 2-track single released - those are the negative spots.
The cover is a bit boring too, but the Scottish theme is nice.

7/10

Stuck On Replay
Now this is a very good song. I like the lyrics, and the atmosphere is good. P.U.C.K. is also a very good B-side, the guys have really done a good job with the B-sides during the UTROTT era.
Both the Club Mix and the Extended Mix are good, though all too short, those released.

It could have been the best single from the album, but...
The HPV sucks - too metallic and "artificial", it just sounds so fake and not real, somehow. If it was like the HPV in WTB..., or a female voice, it could have been so much better.
The video is boring. The only good things with it is more Rick and Michael, and a nice atmosphere.
The cover is also boring. Nice thing with the IIHC logo on it, though.

6/10

So, Ti Sento is to me the best single.

TSAMH

9

Monday, August 16th 2010, 3:59pm

1. Ti Sento
Wonderful chorus which was also a new chorus style in a Scooter track, good mixture of jumpstyle, hardstyle and trance, sound effects that seemed fresh, great video with a story, good B-Side
2. J'Adore Hardcore
very good track, good production, but: the chorus is too flat and was already used in "The sh... that killed Elvis" + Micky Krauses "Dup Dup"
the refrains in "Maria" and "Rock Bottom" had more power
3. The sound above my hair
a bit different from the typical tracks because HP sings with autotune, nice bagpipe mellow, nice atmosphere (in the video as well), but a bit too repetitive; only 2 tracks on the maxi CD
4. Stuck on replay
the maxi CD contained a lot of things and was great, but the radio edit of "SOR" was disappointing: a trance melody in the background+ some new sound effects are okay, but you could have made far more of this track (Kamala-chorus, a new special part and so on)
On the whole: The only single that really convinced me was "Ti Sento". When watching the video for the first time I felt the spirit of this track and wanted to listen to it over and over again. TSTE e. g. had three single releases that "touched" me in that way: Weekend, Maria, The Night.

I'm a huge TSAMH lover, but still I would say that TI SENTO is the best single of the album. It's such a great track, and is in a way a bit experimental, and the collaboration was really a fresh idea this time. So I voted for TI SENTO as #1, followed by TSAMH & JAH both on a mutual #2 place, and on #3 is SOR ;) ...The live version on tour would go to the #2 position though, that one is awesome 8)

If I had to put them in chronological order from best to worst, it'd look like this;

1. Stuck On Replay
2. Ti Sento
3. J'adore Hardcore
4.The Sound Above My Hair

If we're going to evaluate the best single based on the content of the physical package itself, then The Sound Above My Hair is categorically the worst. Being only released as a 2 track CD single was one of the many reasons this track performed so poorly in the charts. The digital single in its entirety was let down by the abysmal Electro Mix, monotonous and unexciting club mix, and finally a very unsatisfying and unstimulating extended mix. Lucullus was a b-side I never understood the hype around. I guess it just isn't my cup of tea. And even with that all aside, TSAMH is still a track I find grossly disappointing and should never have been tampered with.

Stuck On Replay offers the greatest range of tracks, despite the shortness of the extended and club pieces. The tour version and the five minute extended mix compensate for its shortcomings. Or, at least they should do.

Ti Sento's video is probably the most elaborate of them all. It isn't the usual HP in your face and jump thing (I forgot the name of the dance! Whoopsie), so it offers a fair degree of change. You could say it's a breathe of fresh air, and a reminder that Scooter can be a creative bunch if they really want to be. Didn't like the extended though, as that just seemed to be recycled if my memory serves me correctly.

with hello ist JAH the best single ever made

15

Tuesday, August 17th 2010, 2:47am

i choose ti sento, such a well made track with some strong trance and very fresh,
also TSAMH was aslo very well made too, but for me the bagpipes let it down
i like JAH but to me it is a little rough and still resembles the jumpstyle ere, plus the samples wereheavy, although i had no clue what they were or if they were untill every one here found it out, but the worst bit for me was how it was nearly the same as TSTKE, sort of downed the track somewhat,

finally, where to beging with SOR, a good hard track, but to sample heavy, and i know the stuck on you well, i hate samples i know, to me ruins a track if it is too familier,
the hpv should have been changed as most of us say, as well as the synths, and a c part should have been added, in all this track was rushed, shame reall yas it had big potential, i think the clubmix hpv part would have been better in the single, it would have added some good trance to it

in all the videos wernt so bad, TS and TSAMH were fantastic, with TS being a big highlight, one of scooters best videos ever,
and as said the b sides were very good,

I think "Ti Sento" has been underestimated a bit because of the trouble with Technoboy.
On youtube I listened to "Technoboy Ti Sento (Original Mix)" and the original track from Mathia Bazar and I have to say:
Throughout the whole UTROTT-album Scooter ripped a lot from hardstyle artists like Technoboy, but Scooter's Ti Sento is very different from Technoboy's Ti Sento. Except the chorus itself and a few effects there is nothing really similar to Technoboy's version. Scooter's Ti Sento isn't even a pure hardstyle track, it's more jumpstyle and trance. And Technboboy himself covered the chorus nearly 1:1 from Mathia Bazar, even the background effects are nearly the same! Considering this there is not much that Scooter have ripped from Techoboy in "Ti Sento". And if you have the "okay" from the original artist and if the original artist even wants to play a role in your video - why asking Technoboy for permission?

On the whole UTROTT - too much ripping from hardstyle artists, but Technoboy's attacks against Scooter's "Ti Sento" are not okay.

The UTROTT era has seen some excellent b-sides, I think. I wish all the album tracks had been of the same quality. Some experimental mixes, which is good as well in my book. Too bad they released some wrong singles! This is how I'd order the singles (mostly based on the radio edit):
1. Ti Sento
2. The Sound Above My Hair
3. J'Adore Hardcore
4. Stuck On Replay

Ti Sento goes first because this track is nicely experimental. It's also sort of grand. It has the best video, one of Scooter's best, and the collaboration with the original singer was great. It surprised me on many levels. The b-side is well-made, too -- nice that they went and re-recorded the vocals for it!

The Sound Above My Hair goes second, although it could just as well be J'Adore Hardcore taking that place, I had to "flip a coin". I still like the album version of this track more, but the video is nice, and the b-side is a killer!

J'Adore Hardcore is an odd track, at times I've liked it and at times I've disliked it. I like its name a lot. I think it sounds somewhat different from the rest of the album (along with Ti Sento). I'm always happy to hear the J'Adore Hardcore line because I think it's so cool that a fan got to say the words.

Stuck On Replay goes last because I hate the high-pitched chorus so much. This song is a disaster. It would be pretty nice with a different chorus, because the beats and HP vocals are great. Fortunately there's P.U.C.K., which is my favourite of the UTROTT b-sides.
 This is a signature.

My rang list of the UTROTT singles would be:

1. Ti Sento - Definitely the best single choice for me as it's very fresh and powerful. I wonder how it would've charted, if they had released it as the first single from UTROTT. I also like the contentof the single. A great Extended Mix and I also like the much critized Club Mix. The B-Side's good, too, though not one of my favourites.

2. The Sound Above My Hair - I don't really know what to say to this one....I absolutely LOVE the album version. This song just gives me that kinda nostalgic, but also euphoric feeling...I can't even really describe it, but it makes me damn happy :) So when I first heard the single version I was shocked. I kinda got used to it, but still I think they could've made it soooo much better. I also don't get why they had to release it so early after Ti Sento, and, to me personally even worse, just in a 2-track-version? Sorry but WTF were they thinking? would've loved it to have the awesome Extended version on an official CD. The Electro Mix is...well I think it's okay. The only thing that makes this at least a bit better is the absolutely superb B-Side Lucullus. I wish they would've played that one on tour instead of Scarborough Reloaded. To me Lucullus is way better. One of my favourite Scooter tracks

3. Stuck On Replay - I can't stand the album version at all, but somehow the Single Version got me. It's sounds more powerful and I really like the "he say, she say..."-part. Unfortunately the bad release policy had the worst effect here. I don' get why the had to release it months before the start of the ice hockey tournament. Plus the release of the shortened Extended Version and the short mix is simply a shame. If they really had to put Ti Sento and Metropolis on thesingle, then why didn't they release 2 version of the single? One with the normal Extended Version and a longer Club Mix + the B-Side, and the other one with Ti Sento and Metropolis. Sorry, but with this release policy they really f'ucked up this time (same goes for the TSAMH 2-track release). SOR really had the potential to become a TopTen hit, but they just didn't use it.

4. J'adore Hardcore - I don't know, but to me this song has never been anything more than a standard Scooter tune. It just doesn't have anything special and the "dup dup dup" part...it's just overused. So to me it's no surprise that, even though it was released asthe first single, it wasn't a huge success. JAH is to me, what I'm YourPusher is to the guys. I guess that's the way I can describe it best :D But I have to say that at least the live version has got more energy.

but Technoboy's attacks against Scooter's "Ti Sento" are not okay.

i agree, technoboy has no right, he may have sampled the track first but scooter got permission from the orignal artists, the single is nothing like technoboy song, but i would go as far as to say that scooter where likely imspired by technoboys version when scooter decided to do hardstyle, in a way i see technoboy being a little jelous of scooters top 10 success with ti sento, and the number 2 album, which was IMSPIRED by hardstyle artists, it seems to me it was an attack on scooter mainly because of scooters success with the albums number 2 possition and ti sento being a top 10

also to this point i personly think that the last two singles only being top 40 also had something to do with this whole hardstyle ripping, people may have disliked this whole ripping thinng which became pretty big online, and may have effected the single sales of SOR and TSAMH, but i mainly think it has to do with the release times of those singles
