In my opinion:
best chances - Spain
very good chances - the Netherlands, Brazil, England
good chances - Germany, Italy, France, Portugal
outsider chances - Ghana or Cote d'Ivore

I'd probably say Brazil vs. Spain in the final with Spain as the winner. I feel 50% Danish, 25% Chinese and 25% Spanish. As Denmark's chances are incredibly slim and China did not qualify, my bet will be Spain.

I'm not into football, especially because these days it's not what used to be 2-30 years ago. Today is probably the biggest money maker machine, i'ts all about money and the "sport feeling" is going down. Fell free to disagree, this is only my opinion. But for my general knowledge, i will watch the final and the semi finals:P

England won't win now that Ferdinand's crocked.

IMO Ferdinand wasn't promising that much before he got crocked though ...

I think Germany can maybe even do better without Michael Ballack. There is a big histery because of his injurity, but as a team Germany will be able to make good matches without him. He's even a bit overestimated - England has two similar players (Lampard + Gerrard) and both have more offensive potential.
What do you Englishmen think about Ballack and Germany's chances without him?

The German team do well in every tournament they enter, even without Ballack they will make it atleast to the Quarter Finals after jut edging thorugh in a difficult group.

I think Serbia will be a suprise team in the World Cup, but Brazil will win it.

Germany have always been a very strong side, and Ballack has always been an excellent player. They WILL miss him but I think they have enough quality to cope.

@UKDave- I was thinking more down to the fact that he was the captain and probably laid lots of foundations with the side before they left. Gerrard doesn't feel like a leader to me. Its a shame that Terry did what he did because I think he'd have made a good captain.

I'm at work tonight for the England game and we don't even have a working TV. Someone lost the remote and lost half the channels when digital switchover happened so all we have is Dave, QVC and Sky Sports News. Does anyone know if the game will be shown live on the internet like BBC or ITV websites?

Not in 2000 and 2004 - we failed in a cruel way back then.

It's streamed live on itv.com mate - if you have an iphone you can download the ITV app and watch it on there aswell, but I had alot of buffering yesterday when watching South Africa v Mexico at work. Might just of been because it was the first game and ITV weren't prepared for the demand.

What a mistake by the English keeper. But nevertheless England will come through their group.
Today Germany vs. Australia. Australia is hard to play, but we have a lot no-so-well-known players with a lot of potential and technical skills (Özil, Marin, Cacau...)

Joe Hart should of been in goal yesterday and why Capello brought on SWP instead of Cole i'll never know. Carragher looked a red card waiting to happen.
