Excessive use of high-pitched voice.

Hello, our dear Scooter.

Perhaps, we are just expressing our opinion, but we want to be heard. Besides, we think that we are not lonely in our wishes to the favorite band.
It is a fact, that Scooter have earned lots of popularity, so people buy up your music automatically... But don't you see, that you use high-pitched voice too much? It makes tracks very similar one to another and as a result the majority of ordinary listeners has an opinion that all tracks of the group are the same and Scooter is not such a cool band as before.

Also high-pitched voice is not so attractive as before, so there is a question - why are you use it so often? Frequently so-called high-pitched voice frightens off people from listening to your music.
The group fills sound holes with a high-pitched voice as the band has answered in one of the interviews. But after all you can take the real female vocal (for example - Jigga-Jigga, Ratty's Revenge, Like Hypa Said), possibly east vocal (something like Space Cowboy, Chinese Whispers) or opera singing (The Chaser, Habanera) or another vocal samples. It is possible to develop an instrumental theme without a refrain somehow.

Of course, we don't want you to refuse from using a high-pitched voice absolutely. Tracks like Weekend, I'm lonely, Aiii Shot The DJ, Endless Summer and some other tracks are difficult to imagine without it. Sometimes high-pitched voice sounds nice, but only sometimes. 1-2 tracks with a high-pitched voice on an album is still normal, but when half of the album and half of singles have high-pitched voice... In our opinion it is too much. We really want to wish you more rational use of the high-pitched voice, the further variety in music, good luck, creative success and new ideas.

P.S.: This letter has been created at the desire of many fans.

I have to agree with that. Too much high-pitched voice nowadays. And Scooter, we want an album with sound like BTTHWJ, WBTN or TSTE ;)

I also agree. I love the high pitched voice in occasional tracks (WTB, JAOTW, Nessaja) but I think Scooter should stick to producing great melodies of their own :)

I also agree with the statement. I have nothing against high pitched voices, but 2 or 3 on an album would be enough and I would also prefer female vocals like in Jigga Jigga or Ti Sento to the use of the hpv. But it's a fact some tracks need a hpv, like for example See Me Feel Me, and there it sounds better than a female vocal, so it depends on the track where to use HPV and where not. But in general a HPV is cool, as long as it's not overused, that's a fact. ;)

As we know, after exit ATBGO use high-pitched voice has come to naught and again its use has renewed only with release of single Posse (I need you on the floor). Then it began to be shown in increasing frequency. With exit MTG the group took an original break in global use high-pitched voice and on MTG there was only one track in which it was used. Then album WGTLLN has followed? There there were four tracks in which was used high-pitched voice, in TUAO again there was one. Since album JAOTW use high-pitched voice unfortunately became simply global. Personally I have already become bored of tracks in which the normal, not changed vocal would be applied. Further, as well as it has been noticed above, it would be desirable to hear tracks in the spirit of Like Hypa Said, The Chaser, Ratty ` s Revenge, Jigga - Jigga!, Scarborough Affair. As, personally I would be happy, if the group has written down some tracks with use of east vocal.

Yeah, JAOTW had way too much high-pitched vocals and UTROTT too.
I'd be happy with less HPV, less female vocals and more male (although I like HPV, female vocals are just not my cup of tea).

If we could get more like "Ti Sento" where we have famous singers, that would be great!

singing in high pitch.

Singing in falseto didn't do the Beegees any harm, just accept that high pitch singing is part of the Scooter sound. ;)

Its spark seems to have long since fizzled out. The HPV component certainly doesn't have the same memorably enchanting affect it used to have, and it's actually becoming fairly obvious that this formula is becoming more and more ineffectual with every release. It's been a tremendously good run though. Scooter fans should never forget 'The Night', 'The Logical Song', or 'Nessaja', as they've deployed the somewhat risky venture of appealing to people in that way and they were undeniably superb. But yes, it's become apparent that the success of those classics perhaps fueled the ongoing conviction that those warm and fuzzy refrains are received well, when the opposite is in fact becoming true.

I'm much more in favor of the ever so sweeter choruses of Jigga Jigga and Sunrise (Here I am), as the female vocals work so chillingly well in those tracks. I also strongly believe that the original chorus in 'Where The Beats...' would've been better suited with a female vocalist. But don't get me wrong, I'm in love with the HPV they're so fond of. Using it a little more sparingly though certainly wouldn't hurt anyone; preferably once or twice on a new album release to work towards capturing the magic that has been lost to its abundant presence on every record.

You're totally right. The magic would come back again, the magic that now got a bit lost because of the excessive use of the HPV. I still do like the tracks, just as you, but wouldn't mind somewhat less HPVoices, that's a fact. I don't hate the HPV or so, but for the diversity one would need again an album with less HPVoices ;)

I don't like hpv too. Of course, some tracks can't be imagined without hpw (Priveleged to Witness, Ramp, Friends)
But nowadays the situation with it is simply annoying.

Does anyone really actually sing the parts for the high-pitched voice, and then RIck changes / warps it to be higher in the studio? Or is the high pitched voice completely produced in the studio / machine made??

Most of the time Rick sings the high-pitched stuff or his wife, Nikk.
And I'm not sure in that, but if I'm right, Michael also sang one, and the guys often ask other women to sing the vocals, like Kamala Adan.

That would be a very interesting studio session to sit in on... Watching / listening to Rick and MIchael singing those vocals, no matter what the pitch :P ;) :D
