There have been a few artists here and there that have affected me emotionally, at least to a point that it slips me into a transfixed daze of allure and astonishment. Some of them have managed to both pull at the heart strings and even bring a tear to my eye. These tracks are the most memorable because of the sheer emotional affect they inflict upon us-- giving it a great deal of replay value later. And while these tracks certainly aren't a rarity in the music world, most of them are frankly missing one vital component that gives them that all important push. Up until recently, I'd never stumbled upon music that was able to sound remotely life-like (something that was capable of capturing life's essence through sound). That was until I was introduced to the latest pop sensation, Adam Young (A.K.A, Owl City).
This talented young man from Minnesota has astounded the world, taking the charts by storm with his infamous debut single 'Fireflies' and the accompanying album 'Ocean Eyes'. This marvelous album has already reached Silver status, and more impressively, 'Fireflies' was quickly certified Gold and remained at the Number 1 spot of the charts for three consecutive weeks in the UK. Evidently, this legendary young musician is generating a legacy with what a handful of critics are ironically criticizing relentlessly. All sorts of theories are being thrown around about how Adam was able to accomplish this, but all of them fail to take into account the sheer genius behind him.
His music seems to inexplicably capture this harnessed innocence that's just not present in anything else. It's the catchy synthpop sound, the heavenly melodic aura, along with the beautiful lyrics that make me want to cherish life that much more. It's the kind of music that would turn the cynics stomachs completely upside down, as handling it would come as nothing short of a challenge. I'd advise those of you who see the world in an unusually negative light to avoid him at all costs. It might just save you all the cringing!![]()
My only regret was not being introduced to this unrivaled brilliance sooner.

I agree. But it's not like "wow!", like it's with Scooter.
(And I don't care about that.)
This is a signature.
It is such a great feeling and I'm happy to read that you've found the band that you love so much May's-Expedition.
but the reason I didn't check it out earlier was because I somehow thought it had something to do with Pokemon.
It is a somewhat indescribable feeling when you stumble upon something that has such a tremendously positive affect on you. It's like I've been looking for this wonderful act my entire life, which again sounds a little bizarre considering it was only months ago that I became familiar with him. All I can is that I'm incredibly lucky to have found Owl City, as it really has filled a void that I wasn't even aware existed anymore.

Fireflies
is kinda cute and catchy, but the song got brutally overplayed on radio
that now whenever it comes on I've got to change the station.
*May
I think we can agree that this depicts my gratefulness more than adequately: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LDKIwEVrhc
