Many Scooter fans are Rammstein fans, and vice versa, so why not? Till & H.P. would make a really good duet team too!

Hi girls and guys in here, it's been a long time since I last posted sth. here (reasons for my absence in the user topics soon if sb. is interested...), but I thought, this thread about a forthcoming album release could be a good possibility for me to re-enter the discussions here.

As we know from former releases, Rick and Michael read through this forum and they take to heart what we write here in a way. So I really hope that also this time, they will recognize that House and Electro-House is not what most of the Scooter fans prefer. I have to admit that I will buy the album anyway, no matter what genre it is, but that's another point.
I absolutely do not like the actual House music, which is played in nearly every disco these days. It is so slow, lame, has no energy and it is too glamourous, if you know what I mean. It hasn't got anything to do with what once was called Rave. If the doorman of a club where in the past the greatest rave parties took place today says to you, that you're not dressed neat enough, then sth. goes wrong imho.
And what's up with all the DJs that spread uplifting music some years ago? The same, I'm afraid. Just one example: I loved Starsplash from 2001 until 2006 or so... I went to severeal parties where they were announced and went crazy on their hard trance music. But today: Some weeks ago Franky Tunes (aka Starsplash aka Topmodelz) was at a local club and was really looking forward seeing him perform again. But he really disappointed me as he just played terribly boring Electro House. Even his own old tracks like "Wonderful Days" were only played in an Electro version. I left the dancefloor and got me a drink...
So, what I want to say with this is: I do hope, Scooter won't forget who they are and where they come from. They don't stand for glamourous parties with slow beats and girls with handbags on the dancefloor, if you know what I mean They should produce another inferno!

Those were days in 2001-2003 (in the 90s I was too young for partying ) when you could go crazy to the sounds of "Wonderful Days", "Because the Night", "Maria" or "Nessaja". It was pure enthusiastic, high-energetic fun. And acts like Scooter, Mark'Oh or Starsplash were standing for this kind of uplifting party-sound.
But today: slow, complex, but monotoneous beats, no real melodies and if there are melodies they are interrupted by the house/electro beat in a violent way or skipped by the DJs in discos (they often play only the beats of a song and mix over to the next song when the melody/chorus should begin). I'd even prefer some hip hop tracks to this house stuff that is played in the discos over and over again (and I would have never thought that I'd even prefer more hip hop instead of a style belonging to electronical music!). I don't have any house in my blood. If I went to discos in former days I felt the desire to move to the trance/hands up!-sounds. If I go to a disco these days I sit around over a quite long time, the beats are boring, the floor is empty, only a few girls shaking their asses and handbags to the monotoneous house beats and then, later in the evening, I start "dancing" more by duty and less by desire and then I go home. And the girls who shaked their asses in 2003 to the sound of "Because the Night" shake their asses to the sound to house music.
If I want a real party I often go to rock events these days which are still reckless and wild if you know what I mean.

I think jump- and hardstyle would have been the next step in the development of happy hardcore (at first it was hh, in the early 00s it was a mixture of hh-sounds with modern deep bass and from 2006/2007 on it should have been jump- or hardstyle). Scooter were successful with it, but they - different from 2001 with "Posse" - didn't cause a successful wave. Starsplash e. g. were not that successful with jumpstyle/hardstyle even if they tried to be. So artists like Mark'Oh or Starsplash concentrate on (electro) house which doesn't really fit to them and which is not as successful as their happy hardcore/dance tracks were in the 90s/early 00s. And I fear the same will be the case with house-producing Scooter.

good stuff, a good way to re enter the forum, well said, it seems that scooter dod well with jump and h-style, but as said it never really took of, i find this style a little plain, compaired to previos trends

lets see what happens next, as it does seem house is getting very popular, and a lot of top artists choose this style now

I really hope Scooter won't come up with an house album. I never been fan of jump/hardstyle...but if i have to choose between these 3, hm....hardstyle baby!!
But the best would be (at least i think so) trance and techno. And somebody above mentioned drums and guitar riff's. Hell yeah, i would like similar instrumentals like Devil Drums and guitar riff's in a collaboration with Jeff Mantas. I'm dreaming since 2006 for a collaboration between Scooter and Mantas.....just imagine another FIRE as their new single, top 10 single

I think jump- and hardstyle never really reached the masses because they are just a rougher form of dance/happy hardcore/hands up! etc. Further these styles are a bit "narrow" because you use always a similar kind of bassdrum. There are not enough aspects that are new or that allow a wider variation.
The re-animation of the happy hardcore sound in 2001-2003 was more successful because the slower, but deeper bass gave more power to the tracks. When I listened to "Posse" for the first time, I was overwhelmed by the power and energy the track had. And you had more variation in creating tracks. There were tracks that were closer to the happy hardcore sound ("Ramp!", "Never stop that feeling 2001"), tracks that had that modern deep bass ("Wonderful Days 2001", "Posse"), dance tracks that contained more melodies and were closer to pop and vocal trance ("Nessaja", "Stuck on you",/"Words" (both 2004 by Mark'Oh), "Fly away", "Here I am") and tracks that went already into the direction of hardstyle.

I don't mind what style Scooter do because I am sure I will like it but please NO HOUSE! Even though I would probably buy the album anyway. But I hope they don't do a house album because for me house is boring.

@ Scar: Great picture!! I didn't know this photo before - is there anything about it in the forum? Who are the people (apart from H.P. and Simone)? Is this man H.P.'s father? looks quite young...

@ Franz: good idea! For years I'd love to hear them experimenting with some new sounds in the studio and like to hear those tracks they created but then didn't put them on an album...

All in all: I've never been really disappointed by Scooter yet and I bet I won't be this time. We'll see...
When H.P. said, it won't be as fast and hard as the last releases, it doesn't automatically mean, that it will be House, I think. What if Scooter try to relaunch some New Wave sounds or sth. like that? Everything would be better than Electro House
