I imagine a shark living in the sea, an animal who's tears cannot be seen, because it lives in the ocean![]()
When you think about the other lyrics in the song it could fit to the album making process and to the band itself very well. IMO. But I would be very curious to hear the official explanation from Till Lindemann for these lyrics. Hm, I didn't think about that - it seems like a good explanation for the lyricsI see Haifisch as a metafor for the band itself. Like they were telling about themselves as they are a bit scary band for some people (like a shark) but they still can cry or be sad or lonely. They had pretty hard times when making this album so I somehow think that they are telling about the process and about themselves in the song.
The funniest thing is that Till also doesn't tell the other band members the meanings of the lyrics. Richard said he asked Till once many years ago and told him what he thought about the meaning of a song and Till just laughed and told him that he's very wrong. That would make perfect sense IMO. But as I said I'd really like to hear the story behind the lyrics from Lindemann itself. But it would fit him very well to tell about their own feelings this way as they can be considered as a some kind of "shark" that doesn't mean anything bad but still many people hate/are scared about it.![]()
EDIT: Ok, Alucard had find the explanation. So I was right. Ok, that was really the first thing that popped into my mind when thinking about the lyrics. Haifisch is a very good song. Also the lyrics are a bit softer.![]()

It's a bit funny. But maybe he wants that everyone can give their own meanings to the lyrics. The lyrics are in any cese very hard to understand completely if you don't speak very good German and Lindemann's style to write them doesn't make it any easier... But he's a smart guy I think and it would be really interesting to hear what he really means with some texts. They have so many meanings though.
