I think TUV could have been good, with some changes. But you're proably right...

imangenary battle would have been my next choise and i think its a better version of behind the cow

Definately it is the better version of BTC, and if it would have been released instead of BTC, I think it would have brought Scooter more succes than BTC did. But nevertheless I still consider BTC to be a great track, but IB is just that little bit better 8)

With the exception of Lass Uns Tanzen, I think Scooter usually deliberate to release the single that requires just that little bit of extra work. Granted, it doesn't always work this way, as we saw with Apache Rocks The Bottom and Suavemente-- but one could certainly use it a generality. This also excludes the single releases that are promoted before the album, such as Behind The Cow, Shake That, J'adore Hardcore and Ti Sento etc. Aside from that, we see a definite pattern in the tracks they all unanimously select to modify into a single release. On Mind The Gap, we wanted to see The Chaser given the opportunity to battle it out in the charts, but you know as well as I know that that track was just perfect the way it was. Scooter really couldn't do enough to it to justify investing immense amounts of time to change it. The quality of the musical piece could have been compromised. According to the interview on TUAO, they're on a tight schedule as it is, so it's amazing that they're even capable of assembling pieces of such beauty.

With the Stadium Techno Experience, we saw The NIght get its chance to be edited into a gorgeous single track with the potential to dominate the charts. The album version sounded invariably incomplete in my opinion, and required that extra ingredient to turn it into a hit single. Unfortunately, as you've all delightfully pointed out, TUAO didn't really have anything on it that required any extra input. Imaginary Battle, The Sh!t That Killed Elvis, Does The Fish Have Chips?, Ratty's Revenge etc. were absolutely astonishing. What could they really have done with these hits? Perhaps making an album so rich in diversity and quality is too risky if it doesn't reach a wider audience. It'd be wise to leave some tracks just that little bit incomplete to justify its selection as a single release. It was a terrific album! Maybe that was the problem in some bizarre way? :S

Whatever the case, I don't think it's correct to say there was no 'superhit' on the album. As far as I'm concerned, they were simply too magnificent to warrant any major alteration. And we can't consider the charts as a reliable place to adjudicate the quality of an album, for it's usually acts that we all collectively detest that receive the grandest reception. Put it down to bad luck, misfortune or whatever... The fact of the matter is, TUAO was beautiful. Still, #6 isn't a bad position by any means.

That's how I see it anyway. :P

And Behind the Cow is awesome.

Looking at the released singles one could indeed say that. The 2nd and 3rd single releases from albums were always improved and made more exciting than the previously released track on the albums. The improvements and alterration made the tracks just that little bit better. In for example STS the changes weren't very big, but enough to make the track even better than it already was, it got the right spices to make it sound perfect 8)

I couldn't agree more, it's an excellent album with indeed tracks that couldn't possibly be improved, because by trying to improve some they could loose some of their brilliance ;)

Precisely. Tracks like Scarborough Affair are too valuable to warrent any major alteration for a single release. TUAO just excelled in every possible area, and that's obviously why selecting a track that requires that extra bit of work is not to be found on this piece. I'm glad they didn't give in to the demands and requests of forum members a while back, as we could very well have seen one of the many superb musical pieces being desecrated by the need to live up to expectations. I know HP found Lass Uns Tanzen to be among his favourites, but I personally wouldn't have selected this one for separate CD distribution. There's not much they could do though to be fair.

I still say that "The S*it That Killed Elvis" should have been a single in place of "Lass Uns Tanzen".
