Growing appreciation for this album

Since the release of UTTROT I have had a growing appreciation for this album. Not that I think UTROTT's a bad album, but nobody can deny that it is extremely commercial. This album on the other hand seems much more creative and experimental. Lass Uns Tanzen was a type of Scooter single we hadn't heard before. East Sands Anthem was also suitably strange but still very nice. There are also numerous different styles on the album: from electro-rock to electro-house and trance. On the other hand UTROTT is solely a hardstyle album. Most of the tracks are kind of similar with similar structures, beats and melodies. What do other people think?

I always loved the TUAO album, it was for a very long time my favourite Scooter album of all time. Now it's on the 2nd place, because Wicked has got to the 1st place now and UTROTT is on the 3rd place, but it might move up to the 2nd place ;)

I always apreciated the TUAO album and it was very creative and experimental in my opinion, with great tracks and sounds. But Scooter don't consider this to be a good album, because while writing it they didn't knew which way to go, but nevertheless I love the TUAO album and will always love it

How do you know they didn't like it?
I know that Scooter said in an interview that it was like Sheffield in that it was an album without a specific idea. That doesn't mean they didn't like it though. In the interview with the band that came on the Australian Tour Edition, they seem to be really proud of it. They all agreed that all the tracks were really strong.

Well yes, you're right, they didn't say they don't like it, but still I have the feeling they're not entirely happy with it, because on the last big tour they only played LUT and no other tracks from the album, no BTC etc....so it seems they are not entirely happy with it, otherwise they should have played it on tour I recon, or atleast should have played a few tracks on tour ;)

I like TUAO, it has many great tracks :P

I think The United Vibe and The Sh!t That Killed Elvis would have been better and more successful singles, and maybe raised the album up and made it a bit more successful.

I think TUAO shows the dark side of Scooter - it's IMO the album with the most dark sounding atmosphere.

TUAO is my fav Scooter album closely followed by UTROTT. The only song I'm not a big fan of is "Behind The Cow".

Agreed. That's exactly how I see this album too. But yes, it is a good album. But it ain't very easy album to listen. It's a bit like Age of love. It's experimental and interesting. ;)

UFO Phenomena is another great one

Scooter should make an electro-house album I reckon. They're clearly good at it as demonstrated by this track, Lass Uns Tanzen and Te Queiro (one of the best b-sides in my opinion).

Te Quiero is in my top 5 B-sides :)

I've liked TUAO from the start - some tracks more than others, but all in all, liked them.

Actually I quite like this one. The piano melody is really nice and I like that Indian voice in the background. I don't even mind the Fatman Scoop part. Okay, it's a little weird, but not THE weirdest thing Scooter's ever done. Actually after listening to Behind The Cow again I decided to listen to some Fatman Scoop stuff and I noticed TQIWITQ samples the screaming voices from It Takes Two (I don't know if it's originally from this though).

I don't like TUAO, that's why I never bought it, the only tracks I like from these album are: East sands anthem, The sh!t that killed Elvis and Lass uns tanzen, but just partially.I listened to most of the songs only once long time ago and I disliked them in the beginning, so I never replayed them, because what I don't like in the beginning, I'll never like (concerning the music). So today I don't know how most of album songs sound like, but I don't regret my decision.

I think TUAO is almost perfect, but only almost. It has a great diversity of styles, there are differences in the tracks' contsructions and almost each track is on a high level. In points like diversity it can even beat my all-time-favourite TSTE. But: TUAO has no real killer-hit-track. There is no superhit on it (like Weekend on TSTE, Posse on WBTN, FHS+The Revolution on BTTHJ and so on), almost each track is very good, but no one is real supadupa. You saw this problem when Scooter released singles from TUAO: there were only LUT and BTC as singles, other tracks wouldn't have been really suitable for a single release - TUV is too much like a weaker Rock Bottom; RR and SA like weaker Jigga Jiggas etc.. The only possibilities would have been TSTKE (with more Bloodhound Gang in it) and maybe Imaginary Battle.

that is mostlyperfect there mr hyper, all the key points marked, and i agree with you 100%
a good album, one of the best albums offering a lot of variety, like you say,
no real bombs, i was never a fan of TSTKE but i agree with the idea of a more bigger feature with the bloodhound gang, and imangenary battle would have been my next choise and i think its a better version of behind the cow
