If we'd get more instrumentals like Transcendental, Habanera (no voice...), Time And Space, maybe Aii SHot The DJ (Extended, without vocals), I don't careFor me it's the opposite, too much instrumentals make a CD boring, HP tracks never make me bored, and on UTROTT are much HP tracks![]()
How can you say that the album isvery poor if you give most of the sons 7 or higher? 7 and 8 are very high grades.Well.. I'm very, very disappointed. In fact, that's an understatement. Those of you who were on the board a few years ago will remember my very vocal displeasure regarding WGTLLN.. This album is just as bad, if not worse. Let's see..
J'adore Hardcore - 8/10 - Suffers from the tried and tested formula they seem to have used for the last few years now, but still a decent track because of the raw power it has. Decent powerful if unremarkable verses, the "darts" sample in the chorus is the same as TSTKE and pretty lazy tbh, but the C-Part is amazing, the kinda thing they always seem to be capable of. The instrumental breakdown gives me shivers, but overall this falls just short of being a classic, primarily because of the overriding laziness apparent in the track, which is sadly an issue throughout the entire album.
Ti Sento - 8/10 - Again decent, and in terms of creativity far better than JH - an interesting TGIWITQ-esque song with lots of things going on in the background. Unfortunately, the chorus, whilst melodic, does drag on for a bit and to cut out half of the second verse to get it in is a bit dissapointing. Again, a flawed but typical Scooter track.
State Of Mind - 7/10 - With stupid amounts of HPV in this song based on the samples I was fearing the worst, but it's all right. The first verse is bland, a throwaway, but the mixture of ambient and explosive power in the chorus is fantastic. The biggest let down in this song however is the sheer fact that the song does not change one bit and merely repeats itself. Again an example of blatant laziness.
Where The Beats - 8/10 - This song is very, very similar to State Of Mind, the only difference being it is marginally better. The verses are far, far better and very different to the kind of style the band normally employ, but ultimately it seems to be lacking something, the kinda thing that so many Scooter tracks to be amazing. Whilst the uplifting chorus does go a long way in doing this, once again it falls just short of being a classic.
Bit A Bad Boy - 7/10 - By now I'm starting to notice a pattern - the previous three tracks have all sounded exactly the same. The verses sound bland, unimaginative, as if the band just put it there to just fill something in, and the melody which seemed hard and powerful in State Of Mind is used AGAIN, with minor changes, and is repeated far too often. The HPV part with the crowd singing in is a rare blip of creativity, but this can't save the song from being decidedly average.
The Sound Above My Hair - 9/10- Now this is more f*cking like it. Seven tracks in and the first decent Scooter track, sadly a record for me. Immediately what stands out from this song is that it's NOT hardstyle, and a perfect example of what the band can do if they don't conform to trends. Immediately the powerful, hard instrumental backing comes in, sadly missed after so long. The chrous is amazing as well, HP's vocoder-aided voice being followed by a dreamy trance backing. Unfortunately, like most tracks on the album, it does tend to repeat itself, barely changing, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.
See Your Smile - 4/10 - Oh dear. This track is simply awful. A monotone, boring verse followed by everything that's bad about the HPV - a cheesy, pseudo-happy-hardcore tune that sounds hideously out of place in the already mediocre track. The melody which follows is once again bland and uninspiring and repeated far too often, all of this combining to make one of their worst tracks ever.
Clic Clac - 5/10 - What the hell? This song just p*sses me off. It's just a childish, blaring wall of noise with a very forgettable chorus. It's worse than "Whistling Dave" on the previous album.. And that's saying something.
Second Skin - 8/10 - Thank god, another traditional Scooter track after those two abominations. Whilst obviously a basic rock-to-dance cover, the effects used are very interesting and show that the Scooter spirit still remains. Whilst not setting the heather alight, this song is calm and relaxing. The almost complete change halfway through, whilst introducing many trance elements is again relaxing.
Stuck On Replay - 5/10- This is SOM, WTB, BABB, SYS all over again, and bad, once again. Just take everything I said about SYS and paste it here, the only difference being that the verse is slightly better, and not a bunch of monotone cr*p. Disappointing.
Metropolis - 9/10 - Ah, the traditional trance track. This can always be counted on to show the true Scooter spirit, the one they've had for years and years. A subtle yet powerful backing opens the track, followed by the ambient part with the female voice singing softly over, the breakdown follows and the track climaxes in everything previously heard refined. Excellent.
Overall, this album is very poor, lazy and bland, and I hope to god that they don't make yet another trend-based album after this or I'll be sorry to say that my Scooter-fandom may be coming to an end.
but not the best album ever! The should work harder,to release something like WBTNI agree, UTROTT is for sure the best 4th chapter album! Best of the decade. The Album is one of the best in their history, TUAO was my favorite album but now I got a new favorite. The beats of the songs and the refarins are amazingly beautiful. Great album!
