I don't like the repeating lyrics in Ti Sento...
"24 hours a day
twelve months a year
its all about the sound
youre about to hear"
this just gets repeated to often. one time after the intro, one time before the brake and again in the c-part...

A lot of the lyrics are repeated in the album, well 2 times in the track, not 3 times as in Ti Sento, wich really annoys me in Ti Sento, I can live with two times repeating on a couple of songs, but still it happens a bit too much on the album, but it's not annoying.

In State Of MInd:
2 times this:
If you wanna rock now
Let me know
put your hands up now
and let's go
scream if you feel it
Hands up, you deal it
everybody now bouncing up and down.

In Where The Beats:
2 times this:

We gonna take you to another dimension
I speak to the music, let's play
we got crews on the way

In Bit A Bad Boy:
2 times this:

Take A good with the bad
the rock (?) with the smooth
You got everything to gain
and nothing to loose

See Your Smile
2 times the same H.P. part
(gotta gotta get down.... and so on)

Stuck On Replay
2 times this:

He say, she say turn it up to replay
it's time, today get big like a dj
He say, she say turn it up to replay
try it today in a diferent way

and also, in Where The Beats... H.P. says: "I changed my life to a life of rhyme" and in Bit A Bad Boy he says: "I turned my life to a life of rhyme" wich is also a kind of repeating.

First things that comes on my mind after hearing the album - too much HPV again, autotune effect is overused as I've already said, too many similar tracks with same structure and childish hardstyle melodies (tracks 4,5,6,8 & 11)...that's why I have a feeling I'm hearing JAOTW part 2 - hardstyle edition...and what's most important - with every new album (including this one), Scooter is continuing to lose their "special touch" and their individuality...

1. Stealth - well, intro is intro, there's really no point in discussing or rating it...
2. J'adore Hardcore - this track would be pretty cool if there's no Chase The Sun/dup-dup parts (I still think that Maria is one of the worst things that happened to Scooter, although that single attracted (sadly) many new fans) and if that main melody was made by Scooter (if someone says that it's only inspired by Pitcher's track he/she needs to get his/hers ears checked ASAP!!) - but unfortunately it's a really big IF...but I like to hear the club mix from time to time...
3. Ti Sento - probably the best track from UTROTT for me, although many fans hate it...i dunno why, it has a nice & catchy female vocals & horus, solid beats, although it has a jumpstylish main melody, but overall it's ok in my book...club mix was one of the biggest disappointments in Scooter's history though...
4. State Of Mind - nice beats, violins & refrain sounds interesting (thank god it's not HPV...), melody is not bad but nothing special...overall, it's good but not good enough, certainly not epic as many fans say....
5. Where The Beats... - interesting melodies, I like the main melody too, because it reminds me of old happy hc tracks, but HPV part is way too long and annoying! not a bad track...
6. Bit A Bad Boy - sorry but this really sounds like State Of Mind Part 2...melody has exactly the same structure as the main melody in SOM, only the tonality is changed so it sounds a little bit different/happier than SOM...also, I dont like HPV part, too long and cheesy, sounds like it's taken from some ballad...
7. Sound Above My Hair - this track had SO MUCH potential but after hearing it in full length i can't but notice that it kinda feels really rushed! first, the beat starts too soon, right from the beginning - they should start it slow with some kicks and then develop it step by step as they always do, and it woud be a smashing trance track...why do they have to make it so short and rushed instead? second thing i dont like is that main melody feels rushed in some parts too, and by reading some posts I see I'm not the only one who noticed that...but all this aside, it's still my 2nd best track on UTROTT and I really hope they will improve it and release it as single, because it really has potential to be a hit!
8. See Your Smile - worst track on the album with no doubt...ultra cheesy HPV + it has already been covered couple of times and I cant stand that cheese hardstyle melody at all...
9. Clic Clac - the cheesiness continues...hardstyle instrumental with cheesy melody that makes me wanna cut my ears off...as I wrote somewhere, it's Whistling Dave Part 2...
10. Second Skin - the beat kinda reminds me of Moby's Go...I have nothing against experimenting if it's done with a style and this track is definitely far better than Marian which I didnt like at all...Second Skin has some interesting parts & melodies (although they feel rushed in some parts) and it gives kinda melancholic feeling...on the other hand, H.P.'s singing & lyrics feel kinda weird in some parts...I dont know, I still have to hear it couple of times to make the final conclusion, but it definitely has some potential...
11. Stuck On Replay - the cheesiness strikes again - SOR is 2nd worst track on the album, not far behind SYS...again, cheesy HPV refrain, cheesy melody...heard it once, as SYS & CC, and it's enough for me!
12. Metropolis - instrumental trance track for the end, as it's usually the case with Scooter albums...the samples sounded pretty promising (although that melody before the main part sounds way too familiar...it's definitely ripped from some well known trance tune...), but they were ending right when the main melody was about to kick in...now that I hear it in full length I see that main melody is nothing special, I expected a bit more...it's kinda too long and you get that feeling like they didnt know how to develop it so they're just dragging it on & on...overall, not a bad track but could be better, it's a real shame that they leave the best trance instrumentals for b-sides...

Last words - I really liked Ti Sento & Sound Above My Hair (besides it's obvious flaws...), but they are far from perfect...and waaay under these on my list are Where The Beats.... & Metropolis....and under these, tracks that I like at least a little bit - State Of Mind and maybe Second Skin...so, you could say that UTROTT is better then JAOTW and that wasnt really hard to accomplish...but sadly, it's not far from it - it basically follows the same formula of concept album, only this time it's copy/paste hardstyle, and dont let me even start about covering please....the fact is, that for these two years of waiting, they certainly had enough time and they COULD produce much much better album...couple of tracks are worth listening and that's it, it will be forgotten soon, at least for me...

I hesitated to call it like this, I'd rather call it a break ^^

the reactions/review so far:
after a period of "Vorfreude" (when you look foward to sth.) there are the first listeners who are disappointed. that's quite normal, after this period of first listening people will start to regard the album more objective, soe tracks will get better after some time of listening, some will get on people's nerves.
i myself expect a good party album with some catchy tracks and a few surpises here and there, nothing less, nothing more - with this expectation i was not disappointed of the last few scooter albums, some suprised me in a positive way (WGTLLN, TUAO) only MTG was under my expectations.

Once again, complaining... if you don't like a track, why the hell listen to it? Just leave it...

There's for sure things they could have done different, but it's up to them, not us, to decide - and they've made it this way for a purpose - they said themselves that they're satisfied with the album, so why not respect that...

If there's one topic you really should expect some complaining in, it's this one. Not much point in reviewing an album and leave out all the parts you don't like, is there?

MY REVIEW:
01 Stealth:
Interesting intro, fit's to the radar them on the cover, they are e-spying and pic up some Russian voices, sounds cool.
Rating: 8/10

02 J'adore Hardcore:
Don't we all adore hardcore?
Rating: 8,5/10

03 Ti Sento:
A very special track, I really love it. Great meldoy's, nice vocals, great video, what can I say more?
Rating: 9/10

04 State Of Mind:
What a surprising unexpected start, again something fresh and new. The chorus is epic, it gives you shivers, and I love the HP singing style shouts. The track is extremely powerfull, wow! Nice mix of trance tunes with a hardstyle beat IMO. Great work !!! "Would you die for the rhytm?"
Rating: 9/10

05 Where The Beats:
"Reverent H, The Elephant God" , the coolest and maybe even the strangest lyric ever!!!! The HPV sounds very cute but sings that it would like to be a "hostile dancer", funny contrast. The HP verses are awesome in this track. A great track, nice melodies and a good vibe. Very powerfull and melodical and joyfull, but also a bit sad somehow. The C-part sounds also interesting, and again something unexpected, a bit in rock style somehow if you ask me, the C-part that is ;) Also like the sample that is inspired from the Black Eyed Peas track, sounds great in this track! The lyrics are great too.
Rating: 8/10

06 Bit A Bad Boy:
Great lyrics, the track really flows very well. The chorus is also interesting, it's partly HPV, partly normal voice and partly crowd voice, great idea. The C-part is also a great addition to the track, it let's you dream a bit, cool. It would be great if this would be the next single, I really hope so, this track fits for a single like a glove on a hand !!! Super lyrics again.
Rating: 9/10

07 The Sound Above My Hair:
Interesting start, like from some radio program or so, funny and refreshing. The track is Epic, I almost can't describe in words how good it is. Listen yourself and you will agree!
Rating: 10/10

08 See Your Smile:
A happy joyfull track, but the chorus melody is so cheesy. It sounds nice, but it's so extremely cheesy, but yet it's uplifting. I like the HP vocal parts, they are a bit in Gigi d'Agostino style somehow, cool. Nice happy track.
Rating: 6/ 10

09 Clic Clac:
I never thought I would say this, but I love this instrumental, and yet consider the meldoy to be the cheesiest ever made, but still the track somehow worked on me. It's interesting to have an instrumental with crowd noise. I also like the part where the melody is played in "Game boy" style
Rating: 8/10

10 Second Skin:
it's epic, it's even better than I expected it to be. It's 15/10 for me, sooooo great !!!!!!!!!!!!! I adore this track, woooow !!!!!!! It's the best cover version Scooter ever made !!! Wow !!! and HP's voice is great in it, + the melody's, epci, epic, epic !!!!
Rating: 15/10 (yes it is indeed !!!)

11 Stuck On Replay:
It's got a cheesy chorus, but still somehow the track works. And the HP lyrics are great !!! It probably will be the next single, not the best choice though... Overall the track sounds nice, but nothing more.
Rating: 7/10

12 Metropolis:
Nice instrumental, but not the best Scooter ever made, but a very good one. Nice melody's and effects.
Rating: 7,5 /10
H.P.'s "The Voice" - "The Myth" > He stands out all above the rest, blonder than the best! :D

Right. As usual, I have no idea about styles, or what obscure or well known track they’ve covered/ripped. Apart from Scooter, I never, or close enough to it, listen to this kind of music. Not hardstyle, softstyle, jumpstyle, trance, techno, nothing. As such, I won’t even mention anything about style as far as it’s possible, and I can’t make any comparisons except for other Scooter albums. As such, this is just what I think, and I may not have the knowledge about all the technicalities as some of you f*ckers, but as sure as hell now what I f*cking like. Alright, that’s out of the f*cking way.

Not much to say about the intro. Stealth is short, I kinda like the voice, and it’s a smooth transition into the the next track. Can’t ask for much more than that. Some of the older intros almost give me goosebumps though, such as Keyser Soze, but that is probably just the nostalgia talking. J’adore Hardcore is.. You know what? This is what I can’t f*cking stand. Dup dup dup this and dup dup dup that. F*ck it. I find it hard to believe that any of the older fans, from the first or second chapter, find this even remotely decent by now. It got old after Maria, just let it die. I guess the “newer” fans love it, though, since they’ve got no goddamn perspective. Yes. My taste is better than yours, deal with it. Crappy lyrics, and a boring melody makes this one of the forgettable tracks on the album.
Two singles following each other, Ti Sento is the better of the two. Not by much, though. I found it to be decent enough when I watched the video, but I must have been a good mood that day. The chorus is pretty good, but it’s too much of it. One or two times would have been enough. On the same note, there’s no need to repeat the lyrics three times, especially not with the damn auto-tune the last time which does not fit in the song. At all. No f*cking HPV is a big plus though. In conclusion, if I were to watch the video again I’d do it without sound.
State of Mind is better than both of the previous, though that’s not saying much. I like the melody, and the chorus is calm and relaxing. A nice contrast to the rest of the song. I like the melody as well, and the lyrics aren’t as self-centered as they have been these last few years. Which is a good thing. This would have been a lot better without any H.P at all though. More instrumentals, less is more, let the silence reign and so on.
Where the beats. HPV. Kill it with fire. Way too happy and upbeat. Feels like a filler. Might have been decent without the HPV, but as it is, it’s horrific, terrible and feels useless. And, just for those reasons, this will probably be the next single.
Bit a Bad Boy. I don’t know, but State of Mind, Where the Beats and this one feels a bit too similar. I mean, an instrumental in between would have been a good idea, I think. The chorus in this one is better than in the one before though. By now, the bass is starting to sound a bit repetitive as well. This is probably the best use of HPV on the album. Overall, this feels a bit harder than the ones before it. That might be my imagination but, regardless, it’s better than Where the Beats, and again, the HPV actually fits.

About halfway there, and so far, despite how negative I seem, I’ve been pleasantly surprised since I’d have expected, as was the case with JAOTW, to find every damn song to be awful. That’s not the case, State of Mind, and Bit a Bad Boy are at least decent and listenable.

I had high hopes for this one, the Sound Above My Hair, after listening to the samples. I was hoping for something like I’m Raving. Sadly, it doesn’t quite live up to my expectations. It would have been good with a bit more variation, and not so heavy on the auto-tune. Still, while the lyrics are just repeating over and over, I quite like them. Would have been better with more lyrics and if it was slower. One that really stands out anyway, in a good way. Could have been so much better though. What a shame.
Of course, they had to follow that one up with See Your Smile. This would have fit right in on JAOTW. It’s everything I despise about the fourth chapter. The HPV is absolutely unbearable.
The ninth song, Clic Clac, is the first instrumental. The ninth. That’s just not right. And, to make things worse, it’s not even good. Sounds like a mixture between Whistling Dave and the Hardcore Massive. Not much else to say, really.
Second Skin, on the other hand, is something different. I’m not sure I would have liked this song in another environment, but by now, when I’ve been waiting for something different for almost the entire album it’s like an oasis. Somewhat similar to Dancing in the Moonlight, and that is by no means a bad thing.
Unfortunately, the second to last track, is an unwelcome reminder that it’s 2009 and we’re living in HPV-land. Stuck on Replay is just as bad as Where the Beats, and I found myself going back to Second Skin over and over again, rather than finish this one. There’s just too much HPV, there’s nothing redeeming in it, at all. Again, this is all I dislike about the fourth chapter.
The last track, Metropolis, is not bad. Unfortunately, the singing ruins it for me. It reminds me of Sunrise, but it comes up wanting in every single way. Still, there’s no HPV and no H.P, which is a good thing. I always used to like the tracks with H.P the most, but there are nine songs with either HPV or H.P and that’s just too much.

In general, way too much f*cking HPV, one track, or possibly two, is really enough. They overuse the auto-tuning, too few instrumentals and I still don’t like the effect on H.P’s voice. Still, I gotta admit it’s better than JAOTW. Probably better than TUAO as well. I’d go so far as to say this is the best album since TSTE. Again, that’s not saying much, since all of the albums in between have been absolutely f*cking useless. I’m still hoping for something a bit darker and grittier though. This album, and Second Skin in particular, shows that there is still some small hope for the future. I’m not saying I want them to keep making songs like that, just that it shows they still can make something different and surprising. That’s something increasingly important.

I will only review 4 tracks, because the other stuff on that album I think are quiet average, some are just terrible.

Bit A Bad Boy - that's some interesting effect there on the HPV, combined with the crowd voices it sounda pretty epic, I really like it!

The Sound Above My Hair - aweomse HP performance on this one, really love his vocals on this one!
Although it could be not so rushed as someone said above, a slower and harder beat would be better, but it's still nice!

Second Skin - Sounds pretty oldschool Scooter, it's actually an incredible track, which I happen to love, because it reminds me of the second chapter!!!

Metropolis - Yay, Trance! It's overall nothing special, but it has a decent beat and if they had different vocals it would be great!
Slipping sideways, silver stars collide
And fade away just like our love that died
And there is nowhere in this universe to hide
From you tonight...

This thread needs a sticky.

Despite the similarities between JAOTW and UTROTT, there is one major difference...this album didn't dispel the low opinion I got from the samples:

01 - Better than the last intro but worse than the previous 3.
02 - This version isn't so bad, certainly better than the single version.
03 - Not too bad despite the JAOTW breakdown being used again, nice use of the female vocal.
04 - Can't be fussed with this one, nothing special.
05 - Stolen melody aside, the hpv is one of the better ones on here and it's a little better than the tracks immediately either side of it.
06 - Move along, nothing to see here.
07 - This one marks a (temporary) upturn. Could be more melodic outside the choruses, but on the whole a bit better than the average fare in the first half.
08 - Despite the cheese factor I don't think it's too bad actually. Nice mix of vocal and instrumental.
09 - Why does everyone hate this so much, it's a great track! Nice and hard with a catchy melody...even though it tries to resemble Whistling Dave at the end it's easily the winner for me.
10 - Marian is certainly better than this, but I found it to flow ok and it stands out from a quality point of view.
11 - Nothing special here...this sort of track belongs among the singles in the first half.
12 - The only good thing about this track is that they at least put a 2nd instrumental on. Main melody fails and it's not a patch on the trancers they did prior to it.

And there we go...although I've only just listened to it for the first time it only has 1 better-than-average track on (the lowest ever) and I can't see it becoming anything more than the worst Scooter album.
We started in 1994....in 2012 we're still on the case!!!

State Of Mind is not so good as I expected (to simple lyrics) And yeah, after readind your reviews guys, The Sound Above My Hair is the most apreciated song
