Especially Cascada... :wacko:

Clic clac is a huge track! Funny and makes you dance and smile. ;) That's the main porpose of the whole music from Scooter ain't it? ;)

who mentioned them? :)
they ARE cheesy, but it's not the point here...the topic is about Scooter last album and last couple of posts were about Clic Clac...and if that melody isn't über-cheesy and commercial I don't know what is.

It's one of the best instrumentals from Scooter! :P Come on, all the stuff from Scooter is commercial! The single tracks are MUCH more commercial than Clic clac!!!!!!! :whistling:

The single tracks are MUCH more commercial than Clic clac!!!!!!!
And expectantly no doubt!

I honestly don't understand this argument at all... ?(

Their singles and album tracks have to be commercial in order to facilitate record sales. Trying to undermine them because of the natural manner in which commercialism works is preposterous. It's almost equatable to not wanting Scooter to be successful. They have to monitor the trends in order to ensure their music appeals to potential customers. Maybe I'm missing something within this little discussion, but I honestly can't see the logic in Eyeball_Pauls submissions at all.

Unless you want them to remain favourably isolated amongst an esoteric cult of fanatics, what are you trying to convey? In order to expand their enterprise-- get themselves known more and more globally -- they need to be as commercial as possible. Even with this detectable element that seems to be producing the following unwarranted distaste, I can still hear Scooter within the tracks-- if that makes sense. Admittedly, I'm not the biggest fan of their recent work, but that's not to say that I don't like it. There are some really powerful pieces on the album.

A succesfull band has to be a little commercial in order to get the succes they have. And Scooter for sure isn't a very commercial sounding band, because if they were, they would not make tracks in a style that isn't common in the charts nowadays. They do their own thing, and ad a bit commercial flavour to it, and that's all. They did it always, but the commercial flavour was not so noticable as with other bands from the same genre. Scooter follow trends, but only trends in their genre. And even there they follow what fit's best to them and Scooterisze the trends to make them their own.

This appears to be another discrepancy of semantics. Scooter are adhering to commercialism by definition-- leaving no room for dispute. If this grand trio weren't releasing tracks with the intention to appeal to a wide demographic, the majority of us wouldn't likely be here discussing important issues in relation to the band at all. Theoretically, we would've never of heard of them. There's no point in trying to circumvent this standardized reality, for you're only shooting yourselves in the foot. Granted, Scooter insert their own workable recipes into the samples they compile for a new album release, but even if they didn't undertake the wonderful efforts they go to to patent the track just a little for our liking, they'd still be commercial.

This 'debate' makes no sense.

Eyeball_Paul;
I just say that those are more cheesy than Scooter. My opinion about CC is that it's a great track, and whether the melody are cheesy or not, I love the track :P

Where did I say that it's bad to be commercial? Nowhere. :rolleyes: I just said that the singles are more commercial than album tracks like Clic clac. If they weren't we surely wouldn't ever have heard from Scooter!

Clic clac is a great track which is made just for fun. It's full of pure joy. It's not very massive track but you can hear very clearly that this track is made for pleasure. It's not made for money. So it's not commercial that way. Scooter won't get money out of tracks like Clic clac. But for me it doesn't matter if the track is commercial or not. I like what I like.

relax guys, i was just expressing my opinion....if you like the track it's ok....i'm just saying that the melody is annoying for me because it's very cheesy...also, what's commercial isn't necessary cheesy...and also there are many levels of cheesiness, and as I've said, the CC melody is über-cheesy, EVEN too much cheesy for Scooter...

but they like to make these kind of tracks once in a while, so I guess we'll have to deal with it...some other examples of über-cheesiness in Scooter tracks: Whistling Dave, United Vibe, Take A Break...

I see also no cheesyness in those two tracks. A cheesy track is for example "Last Minute" , but for sure not these two indeed ;)
