Help - satellite TV - how can I get German channels?

I could do with some advice please.

When I had ordinary, good old analogue Sky TV I could get a good selection of German channels, then some time ago we changed to Sky Digital (before I was such a big Scooter fan).

I really want those German Channels back now - what do I need - do I need to go back to Sky Analogue and Astra?, and if so can you even still buy analogue decoders?

Any advice / ideas welcome.......please :)

My dad kept our old sky box connected without the card in and it picks up a selected number of overseas channels including viva and viva plus for free. You should still be able to buy a-n-a-l-o-g-u-e :D boxes.

Good question .... I think we left our old dish on the roof to pick up the old sky.

You need to buy a new digital receiver (not a Sky receiver though and costing about £100) and have the old Sky dish pointing towards the old satellite that used to pick up Sky. It will probably need a new LNB now though, so that it can receive digital TV, but they're only about £30 or so I think.

So simple, even I have done it, although you'll need to find a specialist satellite dealer - let me know Sandra, if you're going to "take the plunge"! :)

About a n a l o g u e, I don't think you can buy new a n a l o g u e receivers anymore, unless you can find one second hand from somewhere if you don't have your old one.

Sandra: Which satellite sends VIVA to Europe? I have a complete database of dish-alignment to 1500 satellites on the planet ;)
