I dislike the part between 0.27 and about 1.08 on the original LUTS.
But overall, even though the new version are good, I like the old a bit better cos it's harder 8)

now that my computer has decided to work properly with downloads and youtube, ive finally had a chance to listen to this...in all honesty it is the worst scooter song ive ever heard. until now there wasnt a song by scooter that i didnt like in some way. the vocals that HP has in this song are pathetic and its just sounds lazy. i mean seriously what the fuck is party party party e.t.c. or east is easter repeated a million times over.....very bad move scooter :(, you would think that they would rework the song to make it better on a new version of the album, instead they completely ruined it. the original is a million times better than this.

After the first listening it seems I'll like it.
Dozens of new H.P. wisdoms

What is he singing? East is at eastern?

"East at Easter"

Maybe it has something to do with the following
http://www.simpleminds.org/sm/songs/sitr/eae1.htm

In that song the lyrics "East at Easter" are also preasent and the sentence "Lighten Up the sky". It's a message against all war etc in the world.

Its a very poorly produced song.

Drumloop from sample CD, not own percussion.
Vocals from Sample CD, not own.
Long boring parts with not much going on.
Completely borrowed melody.

Lazy.

The original is much better, but only because the original is THAT good. I like the new version as well, particularly the chorus refrain and HP's lyrics. They should have written an entirely new melody though, so it didn't feel like the original had been plundered.

The lyrics of "Lighten Up The Sky" (new version 2008 ) were already introduced on the Lass Uns Tanzen club tour 2007, including the main melody. I noticed that today after seeing this video ;) Also parts of the lyrics to TQIWITQ were introduced there 8)

Yeah, I think they just played Torrent from Dave 202, then H.P started to M.C-ing on it :). So I think this is the backstory of this moment.

I've listened to it alot lately, and I've become addicted to it.
Only negative thing is that the "party party party" is overused, imo. I quickly become tired of it.

This is one of the best scooter songs in years. It reminds me of the early days when the songs was longer and lyrics more random than the later rap style.

I like the New Version more than the Old Album Version. And yes, it had the potential to be a Single. :)
