I heard a rumour that Scooter are from Sheffield, England.

I heard a rumour that Scooter are from Sheffield, England.

I know they are from Hamburg, Germany, but apart from the album name Sheffield, have they got any links what so ever with the City Of Sheffield in England??

And does anybody know why they called their album Sheffield?

From what I heard HP had an uncle from Sheffield and went there a few times. I also heard that uncle had the name Baxxter. But I'm not sure lol

They are NOT from Sheffield!

I've heard that rumour about H.P.'s uncle Baxxter too, but also that they've got nothing to do with that English city of Sheffield.

This has to do something with KLF, I remember reading somewhere that the city of Sheffield was also mentioned in one of their songs. So this may explain all that Sheffield hype, e.g. the album, record label and "Dave from Sheffield", "Sheffield's gonna rock you once again" and so on.

In the VIVA show about their eraly days and success H.P. have explained this with Baxxter and Dave from Sheffield.

As child in school they would ask which job they will learn, H.P. have said singer. A girl from his class ask which name he will take, he say H.P. so he would called from the teacher, then they mean Geerdes would not fit well, the girl ask why not Baxxter and so he have had the name.

About Dave from Sheffield, they have meet someone who say that he is Dave from Sheffield, seems that they found it funny and so he take later the name.

No, the original 'Sheffield Dave' has nothing to do with Scooter at all, it's just that HP used the name with which the Dave from the UK introduced himself to HP. :wink:
HP met an English guy during his vacation, and the guy introduced himself as Sheffield Dave , and HP thought that the name 'Sheffield Dave' sounds nice, and HP Baxxter used it in the future (2000) as one of his nicknames for the 'Sheffield' album, because he considered that the name he remembered sounded cool as a nickname for himself, so he used it. And it also fitted well to the album title :wink:

So the original 'Sheffield Dave' has nothing to do with Scooter at all, it's just that HP used the name with which the guy,Dave from the UK, introduced himself to HP. Because HP thought that it sounded cool as a nickname for himself :wink:

That's the guy who introduced himself as Sheffield Dave, because he lives in Sheffield and is called Dave (that's what HP said once in an interview).
