Quoted from ""The Curmudgeon""

Here's a tip; before you have a hysterical hissy fit over my review and write a page long rant about it - why not try READING my review first.

an onslaught from a band that, by all that is good and holy, should surely have been a one-hit wonder, but instead have survived and bombarded us with track after track that ALL SOUND THE SAME.

I never said Scooter were a one-hit wonder. I said by rights they SHOULD be, but have continued to be succesful and continued to release songs and albums.

But of course, you obviously just saw the words "Scooter" and "one hit wonder" and immediatly started with your "OMG u r wrong. they hve sold out clubland nd hv hd lots of hits lol" garbage.

Do people actually think before they type anymore?

of course i read it  , one quote- ha ha!, well done...

i suppose really we should thank you, like scooter have said, once the critics stop they stop... i just don't like calling you a critic because i didn't see a point in your review other than you was maybe trying to look big... i dont know :?

oh well... you have made me smile today with your, erm, interesting comments on the forum :)

Are scooter original, no. Do H.P's lyrics make any sense, no. Is it fun, ridiculous music? Yes. That being said I enjoy scooter and I see nothing about me that is being tricked or fooled into liking it. I think you have a common misconception that all scooter fans are 14, which you couldn't be any more wrong.

It is all subjective, and you pretend as though you are some sort of elitest music god. Get over yourself.

I have an LP out full of IDM downtempo electroacoustic tracks. I listen to minimal techno, jazz, indie pop, and avant garde music like matthew dear.

So yes, I guess I have no taste in music and fit the bill as your typical scooter fan. You are so way off base....

I guess I have no taste in music either :D

Oh man... Was that supposed to be a review of an album? It looked rather a general complaining about Scooter...What has I was Made For Loving You to do with I'm Lonely, for example? It looks like you just used it to get one reason more to whine about. How can buying Scooter records make me idiot? If I stop buying, will I still be an idiot or will I become ''normal'' again?

But HOW do Scooter get away with it? Surely someone, somewhere must have realised that this talentless band of chancers have flogged their one trick ponies to death?

Quoted from ""martynlfc""

They 'get away with it' and have sucess because they have fans, legions of them, who love they're music and the band. The demand is there for the music, I take it you didn't catch the Clubland Tour, with thousands of people traveling to see Scooter and other artists?

Agree 100%, fans are the backing behind everything be it music, sport, you name it!
The Clubland tour proved how appreciated Scooter are in the K, ok so some may not be in the know with the newest material....i mean they've been away from the country for 4 yrs now-so that'd explain it. Don't think we'd be already looking at a second single release, 3 wks from the JAOTW album if it hadn't been for the massive reception during the tour. Onwards & upwards! 8)

How anyone has the nerve to presume their taste in music is any better than anyone elses is a fool. We are all individual and, as such, have an individual tastes in music.

I resent being called a variety of names and having thoughts cast on my character type because I dare to admit being a huge Scooter fan. What next.......?? Perhaps because I eat white bread I am lesser human being than someone who prefers wholemeal? Choice is a freedom we all should enjoy!

You Curmudgeon, in my humble opinion, have the same outlook as the group of youths who recently were sent to jail here in the UK for kicking a Goth Girl to death and putting her Goth boyfriend in intensive care simply because they were different and did not subscribe to their opinons on clothing or music! Why do so many people get off on the "I'm better than you", type thinking? For god sake grow up. We all have a right to our own thoughs, likes and dislikes and to be honest they should be of no concern to anyone else, never mind using those thoughts to provoke and annoy a response out of those who may not share the same ideals and doing it so blatantly on a forum where you are bound to get a hostile response. You don't like Scooter fine.........no skin off my nose. But why chose a place like this forum to blatantly peddle your negative thoughts and attack those who beg to differ? Infact I would go as far as to say this is what you were hoping to achieve, getting everyone annoyed! I accept you have as much right to your beliefs as I do mine but I don't ram my thoughts down your neck in the manner you are here, with name calling and general annnoying.

Before you launch yourself into another torrent of name calling and general provocation, don't bother this is the only reply I shall be making to you.

Oh, and just for the record I am a 41 year old woman who is a professional in her career. I have obtained several certificates in higher education . I am not an unmarried mother nor could you label me a " Chav". My music tastes are varied from Classical to all dance music and I think every type of music has a valued place in anyones life, be it to uplift them, relax them or just to let them freak out for a moment. And WHO the hell are you to tell anyone any different or judge anyones character or worth by their music choices? Grow up and live and let live. Just because someone has a different veiw point to yourself it doesn't make their view point any less valid. What really gets my back up is when the insults on intelligence and charater start coming into it........the I am better than you culture........pppphhhhaaa!!!
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

I could not have said it better myself

Please stay away from this guys site - he's just trying to get a bit of action there - why should we give a toss on his views on music we love?

...but more to the point why should he waste his time writing about something he doesn't like and them post a link to it here unless he's just looking for trouble?

Of course no music appeals to everyone, and everyone is welcome to their opinion - but anyone who says his opinion, (in something that is after all a matter of personal taste and is very subjective) is better or more important than someone elses has a rather distorted view of his / her own importance.

In short - you are welcome to your views - we have ours, we read yours - I personally don't give a damn what you think :) ...neither it seems do quite a few of the album buying UK public this week either :)

If you don't like it then don't buy it, don't listen to it and find something better to do than visit the fan forum of a band when you are just out to critise the band and its fans.

..... btw - I am also not a child, I am educated, well qualiied and successful in my life - and I am able to decide for myself what I enjoy listening to :)
I would never critise anyone for liking different music to me, or ever tell them that my opinion / taste is better than theirs, neither would I value any human being in the world less than any other no matter what their background, age, nationality or personal circumstance was - being different is what makes human beings so special no-one should try to belittle others who are not the same, and I pity anyone who thinks he / she is better than others.

I have just made my final post on that poor excuse for a forum. Not being rude at all, just letting my feelings be known.

I quite enjoyed the review.
Not that I agree with all of it, but it almost made me giggle at least.

And it's not really a review of the album, is it?

You win a prize. It's called the "Sense of Humour" award. Well done.

Anyway, you gotta love the fact that almost every one of you dullards has hit me with the "be free to listen to what you want" and "don't judge others" and just because I write a negative review of a Scooter record, I pretty much get labelled as no better than a murderer.

Which, by the way, is fairly ironic, because those two bastards that DID kill that "Goth" (and I use that term loosely) girl - well, take a wild stab in the dark in what records they possibly own. If it were a choice between, say, Marilyn Manson's "Beautiful People" and Scooter's "Logical Song", what do you imagine they prefer?

I came on here to see if I could be given a VALID defence of Scooter's music, and do you know what I've got? From THREE pages (so far) of evidence, I've been led to this conclusion..

Scooter is "fun, nonsense music."

Lyrics aren't important.

Yes, admittedly, "some" of the songs sound the same.

As well as blah blah about freedom of choice and who do you think you are blah, but I would say that's pretty much it, yes? So, let's recap what The Curmudgeon's review said..

Scooter's music is generic, repetitive, badly written nonsense.

I think we're all in agreement now, don't you?

You want a valid defence for music? What on earth does that even mean? We don't have to sit here and defend anything, which we won't. Why should we? It's not up to us to change the opinions of someone else, if you don't like Scooter, fine. You've made that clear now, thanks for that. Was there anything else?

Also, why be so over dramatic? "I pretty much get labelled as no better than a murderer". Here I thought that you atleast were a sensible and thoughtful human being, but that line says the opposite. That line basically shows you to be over dramatic and just daft.

I dont think we need to defend anything...

I think the guys would laugh at your review to be honest, whatever anyone says they are a very succesful band, with fans and haters... More achievments than you can count and numerous awards!

you've got a amateur looking forum posting 'reviews'...
OK - i can kind of seeing whatgives you the right to judge us all :)

Of course it's not easy - you've got to get the rights to all the samples of the songs you steal first. That must take aaaages.

And as for the dimbulb calling me "over-dramatic" at the murder comment, I was merely responding to someone saying I was no better than the two guys who murdered that "Goth" girl.

But, of course, you would have known that if you hadn't just jumped on the "Bash Curmudgeon" bandwagon and hammered out your ignorant, poorly written arguement, wouldn't you?

Stealing samples? Lol w0t. Listen to the music that I put out (www.myspace.com/cityraintunes)/ I synthesize all the samples myself and build all the melodies myself. It is electronic music, but of course it is only "techno shit" as you so intellectually put it.
