Saab has face lifted there 9-5. So i doubt it would be a saab. And why a saab with german licenseplates?

BTW, I droved to volvo in linköping and I tested the new V70 with the 2.4D engine. I asked if they had a T6 but they didnt

It was a nice car to drive

Sure it was, such a big diesel engine drives great :P :P A diesel has so much power !!! that´s why my MG ZR is also a diesel version. The top speed is a litle less than that from the petrol version, but driving on the road it´s much faster when speeding up, it has much more torque than the petrol version. So you will be faster in the city and on the 4 lanes highway

Robinboda, that car looks like a Saab to me, looking at the curve of the back window, don't know the technical term! That's what it looks like to me, but looking at the body work, it sort of looked like a BMW to me. That said, the lights and the wheels just don't look like they would fit with a standard BMW.

Nice Lotus  (I think! )

Yes it looks like a saab at the front. But I still doubt it would be a saab.

Can you see what kind a car it is by the licenseplate? Here in sweden we could just send a sms to the Swedish Road Administration with the licensenumber and get information about the car.

The licensenumber is M * XX 3091

The real reason just might be that they don't want to show the real look of the car yet

In Germany the new V70 is available since late 2006 and it is not looking like the front of a BMW. but you are right on the picture it looks like the typical front face of a BMW 1Series / 3 Series.

And the reason is no wonder. There were only testing the new model then.

yes that article is almost two years old. They covered the car so people wouldn´t see what it really looked like. I think most of the car producers are doing the same thing.

Indeed, much even cover the car in such a way that it looks like a car from another manufactorer, sometimes they even put logo's on them from other manufactorers so that now one recognises the car instantly. Or so that they think another manufactorer is testing his car. Sometimes they also use a mule, so that it looks that a normal car is driving on the road, but if you look closer you see that the car is a bit streched or the wheel arches are a bit to big. That's becuase they testing another car, or engine underneeth the mule of a well known car

It reminds me a bit of Scooter 'undercover' project names which they had to make the single a bigger succes in the club. It was also sort of a mule  :P
