Yes.. Here in sweden an GL is just an cheap car. Now days there are no GL. Volvo changed from 850 GL to 850 SE.

But you mean that all the volvos in germany has extra equipment? Or are there an other 740 who is cheaper than GL?

I'm not sure know whether I understand your question:

When buying a Volvo in Germany and you Take the Sumum Edition (SE a.k.a GL in germany) you get the best of the best. So you can decide between a cheap Volvo or an expensive one.

According my Info:

Volvo Kinetic: cheapest Version, almost no extras
Volvo Momentum: normal price, Some extras but not all
Volvo Sumum (SE): most expenisve version, Almost all Extras

I think when looking in the www for buying a Volvo 740 in germany you find cheap ones without extras as well as expenisve ones with almost all extras.

Is this the answer to you question or do you mean something other?

Well I meant the 740 GL. Here in sweden it is the cheapest and non luxury 740 you can get. I just wondered if there is a 740 model in germany who is not that luxury as the GL.. if you know what I mean.

In germany are 740's that are as cheap as the 740GL in sweden. The 740's in germany without any extras do not have letters at the end of 740.
When seeing a cheap 740 in germany without any extras the only thing you are able to read is Volvo 740.

So, when a Volvo 740 in germany is marked with Volvo 740 on the Car Boot you know that this is the basic version, without any extras.

Those got nothing to do with older models. SE means Special Edition and it has not been used in years now. Summum is the best and after that there still is Executive for S 80 and XC 90 :)

And even with Kinetic there is for example AAC :P

No, I never had a Volvo because I got my Driver License in 2004 and my first car has been this one: Suzuki Baleno Sedan GL

And in 2006 I had a crash. A jeep totally destroyed my car but it was not my fault. Since that day I never bought a car again. I rented cars at sixt. This summer I will buy a new car. Either an used Volvo V40 or this one:

Suzuki Liana Sedan

In the future, when I am something between 30 and 40 I will buy a volvo for sure. As I want to have a new (not used) one I have to collect more money. At the moment I got not enough Money for a 40.000€ - Volvo :x

There are much VOLVO enthousiasts amongst the Scooter fans I see
I myself am an enthousisast of British car's, especially MG-Rover :P That's why I've got the MG ZR
But I have to say that the recent Volvo's look great, in the past (the 80's) I didn't liked them very much, but now they have very nice models  But to like or not to like is naturally just a matter of taste, other's don't like older British car's very much.....

I dunno what an Omega is... Don't think we have them here in Australia. But I think the American version of Holden is Pontiac. Don't quote me on that. Yeah I love Holdens too. Love my car. BUT I wish I could have THIS car...

@ Transcore

Holden is a sister company of General Motors and German Opel Manufacture Opel is also a Sister of General Motors. Holden sells some Opel Cars unter the name Holden as well as slightlöy modified Opel Cars as Holden

For example:

The original German Opel Corsa. In Australia this car is called Holden Barina and when I am right the australian Holden Version is slightly modified. olden also produces own cars but ost of them are based on Opel Cars.

I would prefer the "A Litle Nicer" Omega, because the normal one is a bit boring, my dad had one in the past, so I know what I'm speaking about

If I had the money I would buy an Aston Martin or a Bentley, I love their models, all of them :P :P
An MG ZT 260 V8 would also be nice, with the American Ford Mustang Engine, modified by the MG-Rover engineers :P :P

Anyone who knows what car this is?
I saw it earlier today on road E4 heading north.'

Sorry but i have no pics on the car at the front.. I was having enough to concentrate on my driving.. :) But it looked like a mercedes benz. But maybe it´s a new VW or Bmw?

And why are the germans in sweden off all places?

It looks like a Mercedes indeed from the side, but this can be a mule, so it could be also a VW underneeth it, because of the tail lights. They are VW like

It could also be a succesor of the SAAB 9.5  And than Sweden would fit
