I could.... but perhaps even a forum-wide Castlevania discussion would be cool. :)

Castlevania IV on the SNES was a good one! Great musics, graphics.
The next one on the N64 and PS1 were good too...after that, the games have always been bad.

agreed, but the real surprising part is how quickly I am used to it now. Anyways, I still say Metal Gear is probably the greatest series ever.

Many people would agree with you.
But a Star Ocean game has not disappointed me yet! *thumbs-up*

However, my favourite series of all time would be the Mega Man series. It's a shame what Capcom's doing to it now... I just don't pay attention to new MM games anymore...

And every one of use will be dead and buried by the time the original MM series actually ties in and explains how X came to trully be and all. The main thing that has been pissing me off with the MM series, is its continuety issues. You have very little clue what happened between the original and X, so I have no idea what happened to Bass, the same with between Mega Man X and Mega Man Zero, and what has trully made it worse, is the MegaMan ZX, which gets rid of all characters completely exept in words. the XZ series just plain sucks.

Im kinda psyched about the new Dead or Alive game coming up though.

Bass started a frogurt franchise. I have Mega Man Zero 1 & 2, and honestly, I have no current intention to finish them. They seem purposely difficult; no extra lives, no continues... I also think MM got worse when you were given ratings for your actions. Crap.

I like extremely hard games, keeps you sharp. I mean, come on. How obsessed did YOU get when you were attempting to get to Gutsman inthe first game?

I agree with the ranking system. hate it.

I like games that pose a challenge, but a REASONABLE challenge. As for Gutsman, well, I don't remember playing the original on NES -- I remember Mega Man 2 through 5. But now I have the MMAC for PS2, so I can replay the original. But I don't care as much for Mega Man 1... it's those fortress stages that bug me ... it's like Capcom WANTS us to fail.

Give me Mega Man 3! w00t!

You know, the difficulty of MegaMan games are pretty old now. I guess someone just said, "Hey, lets make every game extremely hard" ...but don't you feel a rush when you do beat it?

That's how I felt when I finished Mega Man X6 earlier this year.
But the rush was also brought on by the joy of not having to play a s**tty game like that any longer.

My lengthy review of Mega Man X6 speaks wonders:
