It is said that H.P once said that it is now Scooter's policy to change the 3rd member every 4 years to keep ideas fresh. Ferris did 4 years. Axel did 4 years. Logic dictates that Jay will do 4 as well. Nothing's certain but it's a possibility.

Jay is a kind of "decoration" for the band. Rick does the music, H.P. does the lyrics. Scooter would still be Scooter even if Tiesto or Oakenfold would be their 3rd member. Jay's contract with Scooter lasts till 2006. That's a fact.

That's how i understand the situation too. Jay is the 'icing on the cake', if you will.

Yeah. Like i said, the 3rd member helps dictate the 'overall direction' of the group. With Jay, Scooter have gone down a more 'classy trance' route. As Imre said, the 3rd member doesn't change Scooter's main focus ... i.e rough, commercial techno ... but Jay has had an effect on the direction and style of album tracks and b-sides.

Possibly. I don't see why not. HHC is on the rise again.

I really do think that the next member of Scooter has to be a really radical choice. What Scooter are doing with Jay is great but i think, to keep Scooter fresh, by 2007 Scooter will need a radical shift in direction.

Maybe they could try Tomcraft style 'electro techno' or Scot Project style hard trance or mabye even Hixxy style 'modern hhc'. Just something to attract the attention of the dance fans that continue to ignore Scooter.

And it is also so that jay said that he's not in scooter for just for years, like the other two.
I hope he meant it, cause i like the music with Jay the most!

What make you sure? :(

It was not planned that Ferris must go.
There was a bit trouble because Ferris would make at this time more this soft Pop music and maybe he would try to stand more in the middle from the band.
They have said it in interviews, so it was better that they go different ways.
For me his own songs was not such great.
By Axel maybe was a bit different problems.
I like his solo singles very much. :D
Maybe it was chance that both have happend after 4 years.

I don't think that Jay is so crazy about to make his own music and go away. :D

Britt: We'll see. Jay's contract with Scooter lasts until 2006, that's sure and we can't do anything about it. Time will tell if they gonna renew it. Jay is very friendly, he's a cool guy - I have nothing against him :)

I personally would like to see Jay stay for longer than 4 years.... I'm loving this 'Like Hypa Said/The Chaser/Soultrain/Trance-Atlantic' style that Jay has brought into the band and i think this style will eventually win over a lot of haterz. Jay's a cool guy and he's slotted into the band perfectly.

But on the other hand, i would like to see at least 1 more member change before the band ends. I can't really explain why but i just think the change will be needed eventually.
