Seems like Pet Shop Boys got infected by the Scooter virus anyway

Listen to this new single from Pet Shop Boys .

Immediately when the song starts, it kinda reminds of Dreams (Scooter) (from 0:46) in the background, don't you think?

I was just waiting for the rhythm to be similar, but they've "cut the tempo in half", probably not to make it too similar. Too bad actually, I think it would be better with more drum'n'bass rhythm like in Dreams.

I also played the tracks simultaneously, and the BPM is exactly the same.

This is not a big deal and I don't care - Scooter does this kind of stuff all the time. But it's funny the few times it goes the other way around, especially when you know they sent Dreams to Pet Shop Boys before the album release, to ask them to do the vocals on the refrain.

I don't think they were inspired by Scooter at all. It's a rhythm that has been around for over 30 years

I'm not talking about the "invention" of playing something really fast like that, but the melody is very similar, so I think it's totally obvious that they asked their producers to listen to "that Scooter track they sent us". And the BPM is the same, and the tracks"fit" upon eachother. How much more obvious can it get?

But yeah, maybe you have to listen in a headset to hear it clearly, it goes almost exactly like in "Dreams".

Can't believe none of you can hear it. You are aware that they sent Dreams to PSB, right ?

The songs are totally different, I agree. I'm talking about the synth part in the background, not so easy to hear maybe. It's very similar as the synth part in Dreams starting at 0:46.

Well, I already explained what I'm talking about. If you don't hear it, you don't hear it. But it's there!

I think the PSB song is more likely 87 BPM, which is exactly the half of 174 so it's still easy to mix
