Is it Just me who actually really like the big mash up?

Just thought i'd make this thread because i've seen a lot of people dont really like The Big Mash Up, but i seem to really enjoy this album, and wondered if it was just me. i think there are some very decent tracks on there that are better than some of their previous stuff, copyright to me is fantastic and one of my favourite tracks of the album, along with summer dream. Its not as good as some of the older albums i have to admit, Excess all areas (live album) being my favourite at the moment, but i personally think its one of their best albums.

I like half of the album, the rest is more average.
My good half is

- David Doesn't Eat
- Beyond The Invisible
- Sugary Dip
- It's A Biz
- Close Your Eyes
- The Only One
- Sex And Drugs And Rock 'n' Roll
- Bang Bang Club

I don't count Friends Turbo as an album track, as it says "bonus", so there remain 7 tracks I see as average or below.

They probably are the best tracks on the album, beyond the invisible and sugary dip are fantastic, but copyright is one of my favourites though :)

You're not alone, I also like it very much. I always love such experimental and unexpected styles and sounds. And well, TBMU sounds fresh and uptodate, and thats also a cool aspect of it 8) Ofcourse I wouldnt mind a happy hardcore or rave revival for the next album, but not because TBMU isnt a good sound, just because I like that ancient styles. But I wont be dissapointed with another TBMU-style album as next album. I'm open to new sounds, and Scooter did introduce quite alot with TBMU :)

That is exactly what i thought, when i brought the album i was expecting some happy hardcore e.t.c on the album, but when i listened to the album a couple of times i thought it was brilliant, it was different to hear a new style and i liked every track on the album, along with copyright, one people dont mention much i find myself listening to summer dream a lot. Its just some people say that its like the worst album scooter have ever made and its terrible e.t.c

Sort of agree with Bjarke. I don't like every track, some tracks I think are a bit weak, but some are real bangers like Dreams, The Only One, Copyright, and Bang Bang Club. I like the experimental side and all that, so I can't really define what I don't like. ?( I sort of feel they could have done better on some stuff. But it was great to get so many songs.
 This is a signature.

your not alone, i like this one alot, mainly for its experimental sounds, and i am a big drum n bass fan too, so when scooter do music like that and the dubstep which is like DnB, i love it,

its a good album, but i think the tracks dont sound so good live, however the live BTI was mental

for me i love
DDE, D, BTI, SD, CYE, C, SADARAR, BBC, i find the rest pretty good too and i find it hard to pick out a track that i dont like.

but as said i would like to see scooter take a harder classic route next, but TBMU has its values and its own right as a good album,

also agree with TUAO, i never skip a track, to me this album is like a trip into scooters many styles they used to this point and they mixed them together to make a great album, it also started the work with others run they have done since then and bought back scooters creative side by experimenting again.

Cheers everyone for their thoughts, and Kelvo, i have to agree with you there about the tracks not sounding so good live, When i watched on youtube when they first done DDE, it werent the same enjoyement as you still have when One Always Hardcore, or my favourite The Leading Horse. :)

I was pleasantly surprised by this album, I didn't get it until a couple of months after it was released and was expecting the worst based on the reviews (and the preview clips on Amazon), however, I can honestly say I love TBMU and I really don't understand what all the haters are moaning about.

Exactly What i said G-WWBB i knew the released tracks were brilliant (DDE, CB, TOO, IAB) and then like you said the reviews of it was saying how rubbish it was, how rubbish the songs are e.t.c. Then when i got it, every track on there is brilliant. Personally one of my favourite albums by Scooter :)
