everything is moving to fast, why cant they slow it down a bit
This is a signature. I'm fed up with all those things too, and in addition I keep raging about the user interface of mobiles. I simply hate them. No matter what phone I try the interface is slow, unresponsive, f*cking unreliable, full of bugs that appear soon in use. Of course it's clear why; they have so many different, pointless layers there, software in each is written fast as hell, testing minimal. I remember with joy the old Nokias (the only ones that are good from that brand) where stuff was written in assembly (and maybe some C) and it was throughoutly tested. It worked so well. (At least this is what I remember, time might have polished my memory of all the ugly stuff but I think they were much better then.)

Two words: controlled obsolescence
I have an urge to spit each time I hear Apple's name. They import top quality hardware for their gizmos, their software is fair and reliable. An iPhone could last at least 10 years without any need of repair. Yet they make minimum advances to their models each year, forcing the customers to buy the new one for the same price they paid for their current model less than a year ago. And the worst of all, they are constantly implying that if you don't have the latest one, you're a loser. Apple clearly has the most disgusting marketing strategy in the world. Unfortunately it works, thanks to the incredible amount of moronic snobs out there.

This is the main reason I'm against Apple and iPhone.
Look at iPhone 4, it had it's specs - about a year later, or maybe not even that, iPhone 4S came out, and it had a stiff cost despite not offering more than an upgraded screen and ditto camera. No, I'm not tempted by the "fabulous" iPhone.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Xcover S5690 in December, and I think it's miles better. Maybe not technically, but it's dust and water proof to a certain degree, and can handle a meeting with the floor if you drop it.
I don't use the more fancy apps and stuff for a phone anyway, so it's more than enough for me.
