Scooters recent demise

Scooter's recent demise
Hello folks,

there is no doubt, Scooter is in a downfall since the end of JAOTW. Everybody should realise it, even the hardest Scooter fans out there. Many fans say the reason is the lack of promo and stuff but this is nothing than an untenable theorie.

I am afraid scooter will cease it's music business, sooner than someone might expect, due to the lack of success but I hope the won't. I miss the time of The Stadium Techno Experience, the time of BTTHWJ (perhaps there best album release ever). The last album I liked very much is TUAO but after this everything went down in my opinion. Never was fan of JAOTW nor UTROTT or their current album TBMU.

I am just a usual music listener with no experience in producing music but I think the only chance to get them back on charts for just one more time is to stop releasing albums and singles frequently. They should leave the business for a certain time in order to produce something unique, something like TSTE or BTTHWJ. I think a big matter of therr current loss of success is the time and money pressure in nowadays music business. No time for some deep tracks, no time for creating new ideas but this is just my opinion.

Best regards, Steffen (The-Flying-Dutchman)

@ Rick J. Jordan. Beste Grüße aus Nürnberg. Wäre gern bei the TBMU Tour dabei gewesen.

Whatever the success of recent releases no-one can deny they can attract a large audience for live shows, as we have seen this past couple of weeks during the tour.
Maybe their focus now is more on live performances than new stuff - they have quite a few more concerts coming up in the next few weeks, and with the internet and illegal downloading of music live shows must be financially better than single releases.
As long as they keep performing live and playing great tracks from the time 1994 - now, they will never die and will attract fans from all the stages of their musical career :)
It will be interesting though to see the direction for the next album. I have faith in the Scooter magic :)

mhh, i remember h.p. stated once they earn almost no money with live gigs. should be a +/- 0$ business.

Ahh - I had not seen that, and I don't know the economics of the music industry, but I think to make money from music releases they will need to sell quite a few and chart success will be important if this is the main income.

+1, i agree sandra i really am interested to see what scooter will do next, with the later part of UTROTT failing, they decided to go with the current formula and go with trends, i feel this time scooter went in over their heads, everyone knows scooter for the rough and radical styles they have done, TBMU never had that, so i hope scooter see the mistake and go with something they know they can work with.

anyway every band has a low point in their career, even the biggest ones, so i see this as scooter's low point, i just hope scooter can come back to the top again,

but as sandra says, they can still sell tours out, so they are still very much on top, they just need to impact the charts again,
as we have seen from the recent tour, the new stuff from TBMU just wasnt what people wanted to here,
i can see in the future these tracks wont get played on tours

And Scooter have got their Posse - a worldwide and very varied lot of people who have loved them for many years and will continue to do so :)

as i sadi before the chart do matter, the higher they climb the more they sell, which makes money
i recall hp saying a while back that they dont use lots of pyro today because they cant afford it

the recent show kinda prove it, the stage for me wasnt as impressive as the 2010 tours, and the fact rick used his own visuals rather than have a company do it is also a bad sign

like i said, one bomb and it will all flip around

I too believe they can make a massive return, they just need to take a break and make a new faster, harder Scooter.

Sadly, the modern music biz seem to be all about fast productions and quick money.
Passion for music and talent to make it seem to mean little or nothing today.

They could have the chance of their life if they manage to make something awesome to present around the time of German X-Factor.

so true, i think this might be what hp may have had in mind when he agreed to it, good publicity for scooter, a promo chance and of course he was picked for scooter's success

It would be great if the guys could land another album with the success of JAOTW.
3 top 10 singles from 1 album.

mhh, i remember h.p. stated once they earn almost no money with live gigs. should be a +/- 0$ business.

What really? I can't believe this and I don't even remember any H.P. statement. The only thing I can remember is Rick stating that they don't have much of the DVD/Blu-Ray releases of the live shows (encore, excess, hamburg 2010, inferno) and that releasing DVDs is more or less +/- business.

HP said that their manager sometimes stoppes them to put too much pyros into their shows because that is expensive and there has to be some money left for Rick, Michael and the Reverend himself. If they don't make money with tours and gigs then why the hell are they still around? Everything that came after UTROTT bombed, TBMU underperformed and they bought a lot of new stuff for their studio in 2011. Noone can do that without earning money...

Quoted from "The-Flying-Dutchman"

They should leave the business for a certain time in order to produce something unique, something like TSTE or BTTHWJ.

Agreed, but they don't necessarily have to leave for a few years. That would just lower chances of coming out big again because Scooter is not a band where anyone would care if they made a comeback. To be honest I think an album like TSTE wouldn't take as long to produce as TBMU did (on which they worked for more than 1 year).

We'll see what they do after TBMU tour is finished. Maybe they take a few weeks off and we get some exciting news afterwards.

After my last concerts experiences during the current tour I can only laugh really loud about this topic. Sorry Steffen :P
I hate such phrases like: they should produce sth. unique like........ X( X( Das kotzt mich an!

Kurz was anderes: Folgende Dinge stimmen mich derzeit besonders erfreut:
- Rick spielt sogar wieder Piano parts
