How do you do it live?

Technical question,

how do you set up a great live show like that?
which parts do you play live and how do you solve the rest?
I saw a laptop in your keyboard setup,
do you take care of the audio only or do you trigger the visuals as well?
which part of equipment (synth,laptop,sequencer,..) is the most important in the Scooter setup?

keep up the good work, hope to catch ya live soon! :)

likely no but i can say that some live music is played on the keyboards, the laptops use som ekind of apple system to play the music and the visuals are done by a technical crew which are hired by scooter

I think only Rick does any live 'bits', probably one or two of the keyboards are connected to 'mainstage' which is apple software that comes with Logic studio and very basically is to quickly use and manage software instruments live so he's probably got a bank of presets saved for the show

They like to drop in a few chords between tracks, and that's all. Almost nothing is live now :(

the most important thing to me is that the lyrics are live and not from a "casette player" and scooters are live.

well 100%

and rick will add live synths through out the tracks, mainly the older ones these days,
also scooter do re edit songs for love shows and also add on parts to make the experience different,

so their is still a lot of live play going on here, but i will agree, scooter dont do as much as they did in the past

Well, I've watched Hamburg Gig form 2010 and Rick plays lots of melodies.... And Mike often tips his keyboard as well, but it always seems like his finger movements has nothing to do with the actuall sound that is played at that moment :D

I wanted to do a compilation of all the moments they fail while pretending to play (starting too late etc.) but it would be mean.

To me the worst third member at pretending to play was Axel :D

They don't even try to play the right melodie. They are punching the keyboard like Dieter Bohlen punched his guitar at Modern Talking. :D

For me nothing can top the extra live playing of Rebell Yell Live-the track on R&T&D. Piece of art.
P.S. Is there a video of them perfirming it?

scooter playing live is the best, especially when they add parts to the tracks

Agree! I remember a few shows from viva back in the 90's where scooter performed Rebel yell and Rick played like a wildman. I could'nt find the video i was looking for, but he also plays live her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGR-Hpgt0Bs I don't know about Ferris though.
