yeah so far all the promo has been good for CB apart from some key missed opertunities, but for me the late video is the worst they could do, it should be out now

They are aiming for a Christmas-time hit as it seems, but if that's wise? Because many bands are aiming for a christmas hit, just as Wham! probably again for the 1000th year :D But Scooter have VIcky in the package, so that might help just that little bit to make it into a Christmas-time hit. Let's see, I do hope for the sake of Scooter that they will succeed, and turn the tide again of the unsuccesful singles period! They need that, to remain focussed on the future and to push the album back into the charts again!

I think the earlier the video is out there the better, it gives people time to get the track under their skin so that they want to buy it when it's released. I know chart positions can go up and down at anytime, but the chart entry position is important I think, and there are only 8(?) days to buy it between release and when the chart entry position is known. I 'm not a marketing expert, but I would have thought it would be better for people to hear it before its available to buy, so when they see it in the shops they know it and want to buy it that first weekend, instead of not knowing how it sounds

+1!

The entry position is very important - because a chartbreaking single gets more attention from the public media and the (club/radio) DJs from the very beginning. If a single enters #Top10 many people from clubs and the media think: "Hey, this is a song people want to listen to." and thus they will play it more often. But if a single enters on a low position people from the media/the clubs may think that it's not really wanted and thus they will play it only a few times or won't even add it to their playlists.

I would have shot the video before announcing a release date, so that uploading the video could be done 2-3 weeks before the release date. That would be a more wise decision to make sure they would get up the videos earlier.

Who knows. It seems the chart success isn't important to them anymore - or they just wanna test out how well they can do with minimal promo.

They can't be so stupid to think their music can sell without promo! They need to change something immediately!

The 2 reasons I can think of, is what I wrote in my previous post. Curious to see how well the singles and the album could do with minimal promo, or don't care about the charts anymore. It doesn't make sense, but...

But they certainly care about money, and this way they will not get it. ;)

I understand if they had give a try with 2 or 3 singles, but now they should recognize that minimal or chaotic promo doesn't work at all. What appears strange to me: They don't seem to be worried in interviews etc.. If a single wasn't that successful in former days, they showed that they were not satisfied with it very soon (Remember: "I'm your pusher" and the whole "Sheffield"-era even if it was more successful than today's releases). But today they seem to be so careless as if they don't even know the bad chart positions. I would be really curious to hear some kind of statement by Scooter concerning their recent release and promotion policy.

It's indeed all a bit mysterious, true .... but I think they dont talk too much about failed single succes, to atleast keep a good image alive of the succesful Scooter. Hosts of interviews always refer to the most 10 singles ever in Germany and succes after succes, and Scooter just go on with the talk, to atleast "enjoy" the moment, and to feel good there. But I'm sure when the host would say something about the bad succes, they would give an answer, but the hosts just dont approach that theme, because in a way, the info-paper they get seems to only include the positive aspects of the Scooter career. But Scooter in a way tell they did a risk with the new sound, because they told not all fans like the new style, and that their fans have to get used to the tempo for DDE for example. But when the host doesnt go further into the subject, Scooter intelligently stay silent, to remain having a good image ;)

It sounds logical, that they go with the flow when the talk is positive, and don't go further into the negative things.
Wise, but they have to reconsider their current promo and release policy. Cos it sucks

the promotion has since around the time the album came out, to be precise, 1 week after when scooter asked the fans what they think should be the next , hoping the fans alone can bring in a top 20 hit,

other than that the promo has been really good, if you consider the last few singles, but a late video could destroy all hope of a top 10 now
