Scooter asked Pet Shop Boys to sing vocals for....

Yesterday, 14-11-2011, as you might know Scooter were on the TV Total show on Pro7. During that interview HP told that they asked the Pet Shop Boys to sing the vocals for DREAMS, they sent their "Scooter" version of DREAMS to the Pet Shop Boys, and they told Scooter that that "Scooter" version was already great so no need for their Pet Shop Boys vocals that would sing the same chorus as the studio singer does in Scooter's track :D
HP also told that "Unser Leute", so "Our people" (=fans) had to get used to moving in the crowd to DDE. And the host, Stefan Raab, joked that the fans instead of headbanging quick, they now have to do it with some delay. And they all laughed :D
Also HP told that Scooter are no great songwriters like some are, they have always been super and tallented remixers and so on, and "steal" already parts of other tracks from the very beginning of their career and also never ever intended to do it differently. And well, HP told that people always complain about it, so they thought "Let's put it in the title of the new album so that it's clear for all how we work" :D
HP also told that Scooter are indeed a famous band abroad. When people think about a German band, they say Rammstein, The Scorpions and Scooter, he told :D And after the host asked if there are really not more German famous bands, HP told "Well, and Modern Talking ofcourse...hahaha" :D
Nothing about C'est Bleu was mentionned, no release date, even no talk about Vicky Leandros. They played a part of the DDE video there, and the crowd kept on clapping after it, they almost couldn't stop clapping :D Oh yes, I also spotted Christiane from the forum in the crowd :D

source of! I know there are fans of Pet Shop Boys who love scooter! I also knew that scooter appreciates the music of Pet Shop Boys! This scooter will be great if could do a duet with the Pet Shop Boys ;) on (dreams)I signed right away, being a fan of scooter and Pet Shop Boys I'm super happy! and yes I will see the singer Neil Tennant of PSB singing the chorus! the Pet Shop Boys are always of great melodies, beautiful music absolutely incomparable with other artists! I hope that Neil and Chris will agree! This will be absolutely fabulous;) :)

Interesting info, cheers... Too bad the Boys didn't agree. Would've been great. But can't understand why they asked them for Dreams? Or did they have some different chorus there before?
 This is a signature.

Too bad that Pet Shop Boys declined the collaboration, but I still look forward to their collaboration with Scooter in upcoming releases, because like Peter Scotland wrote - PSB have really great tracks  . They are higly awarded and good chart-toppers, what makes them a perfect bend to make a collaboration with. @Pet Shop Boys - please accept Scooter invitations in the future releases. :whistling: @Scooter - don't give up trying ;)

Scooter wanted The Pet Shop Boys to sing the chorus the guy in Dreams sings, and the PSB wanted to do that, but told to Scooter that the studio singer Scooter had for the chorus was already great, so they couldnt improve it by singing it themselves so to speak. That's what I understood from it ;) So NOT a PSB cover or so, they would be used as singers of the Dream chorus we now also hear ;)

I EDITED MY FIRST POST IN THIS TOPIC, BECAUSE IT SEEMS IT WAS NOT TOTALLY CLEAR WHAT I WANTED TO TELL> IT'S FIXED NOW I HOPE :D

Wow, really a cool info! :)
Many nice things are now "revealed".

Btw...regarding this thing with Pet Shop Boys, unfortunately it was probably something like this:
Scooter sent a demo of "Dreams" to PSB and asked them if they could sing a chorus. They thought: "Wtf?! There's no chance we will sing in a Scooter track. They make horrible music. But, let's not be rude." So, they answered to Scooter: "Hey, nice track, no need for our vocals. Those refrain vocals are already very good. Thanks."

I bet it was like that! Because, why should they refuse to sing the chorus, even if the already recorded chorus is maybe better? No sense at all to refuse that, except if they hate Scooter. Well, my opinion only...

Btw, I'm a big fan of PSB and have been on their concert. Great duo! But, as personalities they know to be quite hard sometimes, so that's why I wrote this above.
We don't need a knife, we don't need a gun...all we need is Scooter and some fun! :)

Could be like you say, but I do hope it was really meant like they said it, and not just said the "kind" way to don't make Scooter angry ;) But well, we will never know that, unless you will ask the PSB on your next concert :D

Yes thanks for the info Ed, personally always liked the Pet Shop Boys since they started, but the Scooter totally took ove in my musical love by far, but a collaboration between the two would have been very nice :)

I like their cover of U2's Where The Streets Have No Name, but I dislike the "you're just too good to be true" song covered with it.
At least I've only seen WTSHNN together with the other one.

If single-covered, it would have been one of my favourite songs.

Actually it was quite a surprise for me to hear that Scooter actually planned to do something together with The Pet Shop Boys. I never thought we almost might have had such a big and famous act in a Scooter song. But it seems we can expect maybe some collaboration surprises in the future with bands we never thought they would collaborate with Scooter. Would for sure have been quite interesting if the PSB actually did sing the DREAMS chorus, for sure it would have made a single release possible, and again would have gained some more promo + would for sure have sounded great with the PSB voice :) Well, sadly it didn't happen, but the fact it was planned might suggest we will get some surprises in the future, chorus surprises that is :)

I like the way Scooter started to collaborate with famous bands/singers! :)
We had several nice collaborations for now...and I honestly hope that we will have more of them in the near future.

If it doesn't work with PSB, they should try to collaborate with Depeche Mode, Simple Minds, Thomas Anders or Dieter Bohlen (ex Modern Talking), Maxi Jazz (ex Faithless) etc. :D

Well, I don't think they really hate Scooter. They respect what Scooter do and they do like some tracks (F**k the Millennium i.e.) but u could right, that they don't wanna singing the vocals for it. May, I think they are affraid that singing in a scooter track could be damage their image.
But don't worry, they also declined it doing vocals on a track from the german artist Schiller.
Don't have to be beautiful...but it helps
