Nevertheless it's a fact that the promo around DDE and TBMU have been on the bottom.
How do they expect to sell good and get good chart positions when they don't promote?

agree, but they can only work with what they have as sandra says,

but id say 15 for the album, which as said, wasnt the greatest of promo, did really well, the single was always gonna fail, but i hoped for a higher spot, the whole experiment and same day release didnt help to much i think

lets all hope for a successful stay in the charts and some more success with the next few singles

next up, c'est bleu, and the albums chart length, be interesting to see if the album climbs when the next hit is out

True, they have to work with what they have, and if they don't have much they don't have much.

He's got a point. It seems they're getting out of ideas for new stuff, and go more and more towards quick releases.

What makes you think like that? The TBMU wasn't a quick release when we look at the fact the last album was released in autumn 2009. And speaking for myself, the new TBMU album sounds damn creative and fresh, so I wouldn't say they are getting out of ideas, because how on earth would they in that case be able to make such an experimental and refreshing album like TBMU is? ;)

You got a point. I don't know how long they have worked on TBMU, from the start. I just have a feeling that the musical and creative quality of the songs have fallen since JAOTW, like chart positions and sales numbers have become more important, maybe more than making the music.

JAOTW was a quick release, just 9 months after TUAO. The overall production quality is mirrored by that, simple sounding songs in a simple sounding style. It's got many good songs, but I feel the quality is more poor than before.
UTROTT, to me, sounds like a continuing in that track. Hardstyle sounds almost as cheap/thin to me as jumpstyle does, at least the way Scooter used it. + on this album, the songs sound more similar to my ears.
But I think most hardstyle songs sound too similar, too little different, becaise of the monotone sound.

TBMU is an improvement, but working with famous singers gives me the impression sometimes that they do it to sell.
If not, couldn't they just have found someone unknown, with an amazing voice, to sing?
Since UTROTT, the songs have also sounded more rushed, like the music were forced out instead of creativity flowing. It might just be me, I seem very pessimistic these days, but I have that feeling.

Rick and Michael said in the RTL chart they worked 1.5 years on the album. So they started a bit after UTROTT tour 2009.

that would be true, i recall hp saying on an interview in august 2010 the album was in the planning stages and no tracks were complete enough yet, by march 2011 we found out that 7 tracks were finished,

so it is a true statement

Was it finished before TOO? Cos in that case, it could have been logical to release CB as the first single :whistling:

I think it was, when it was one of the first tracks that was made for the new album. But probably they postponed the release of CB also due to the fact the album release was postponed due to style change so to speak ;) But in a way they could have released it instead of DDE to really push the album sales with all those extra promo due to Vicky ;)

Yes, even releasing CB as 2nd single on the same day as TBMU could turn the good way.
Look at Ti Sento and UTROTT - same day, single went #10 and album went #2. Famous guest singer.

Exactly Traxx ;) But it seems they had also a very good feeling DDE would do very well, and well, maybe at first prefered to show the nation the new sound, and kept CB as "emergency single" just in case DDE wouldnt work that well, because they were sure CB would turn the tide so to speak, if needed ;)

The gap between JAH and TS were smaller, about 1 month. TOO was released 4,5 months before DDE

What I don't understand:
A few months ago HP said that they had tried to produce electro house, but that this proved to be the wrong direction. He even said that they had worked in the wrong direction for more than a year.

So I thought they made the elctro house tracks at first, noticed that this wasn't their "cup of tea" and thus produced the more classical tracks like "C'est bleu", "Close your eyes" or "Summer Dream". This would also explain the huge amount of tracks on the new album: The album was ready to be released in August with 12 or 13 tracks (if you count the intro) - but Scooter weren't satisfied with it and went back to their roots by producing the few jumpstyle/hardstyle/happy trance tracks on the album.

But after this information I'm wondering right now wether their statement ("house is not our cup of tea, we want to go back to the roots") was just a joke.

I don't get it, too. Maybe they don't know it already ;)
