Close Your Eyes

I was listening to the first part of "Close Your Eyes" with H.P.'s vocals... am I crazy or does H.P. sound like he has cotton in his mouth? I thought it was very strange to hear vocals of that unusual quality...

He's screaming like he did not hear himself. Or like he's drunk.

He sounds a bit like he recorded this song after 20 concerts of non-stop screaming in a row :D
or just tries to hard to match the key

Well this one is recorded with a normal microfoon and not with the Green Bullet mic. If I'm right Summer Dream is the only track that HP use his Green Bullet.

Maybe thats you mean??

That could very well be true. It sounds like he's trying to shout while eating marshmallows. Maybe it's just me -- sounds like some people here don't hear what I hear... oh well, good song, still.

That's interesting, too. That probably means that "Summer Dream" was the first song recorded for the new album. I can see why they may not have been happy with the end result if all the songs sounded just like that one. But all the other songs' vocals sound okay to me, whether he used the Bullet Mic or not.

I see what you mean, there's this hoarseness to his voice in this song. I thought it could be some effect, or then he just had a cigarette break and went straight to the recording room (or was smoking in it). As said, all the other vocals sound different. Although I don't think CYE sounds bad, it's one of my favourites, even with this vocal strangeness.
 This is a signature.

I listened to the song this morning and the voice seemed more normal this time around, though still a bit different than that of the other songs... maybe I'm just hearing things...

Well, HP's voice in the track might be a bit less powerful than on other older songs with clear voice. I think that's what you hear, the little percentage of loss of voice due to smoking or so. But I don't hear it really, only maybe a little tiny bit. But well, CYE is definately a bomb, love it! :)

hahaha and feel the energy inside

i love this one, this to me is the best on the album, has that BTTHWJ build to it, and for is in league with my super trance line

since 2003's like hypa said, scooter have made a bomb that stands out the most

TSTE - like hypa said - love the beats and the female vocals, great trance
MTG - the chaser - this is literately immortal
WGTLLN - Privileged to witness - what a good trance tune, only wish the vocals not hpv
TUAO - Scarborough affair - again some good trance, and one of the last to sound this way, also one of the best ever c part
JAOTW - i'm lonely (single) - only one to be a single from my list, but feel the trance
UTROTT - state of mind - so well made, only wish it was longer and a full trance tune, wicked choise of sample
TBMU - close our eyes - this is a wonderful tune, so trancey, yet their is house in it, well made

i cant go before TSTE because my faves were not in this trance like line, buti have always had a stand out tune for all albums
here the rest

ATBGO - beautifal vibes - the first time i herd this iwas like 'nice DnB elements' and loving the hpv sample, feel the old skool
OHH - experience - what a tune, nothing more to say only again nice use of DnB
W! - when i was a young boy - love the relaxed feel to it, the piano's are world class and the DnB is just wicked
AOL - Hit the drum - i love this one so much, to me it is the last scooter song to sound like this in its happy hardcore sound.
NTTC - expecting more from ratty - what a nice tune in the chorus, love the rap style lyrics
BTTHWJ - Watch out - you will never ever beat this one, the c part RAMP style sound is like the sound of a techno god, you cant beat this build up
S - She's The Sun - by far the most realistic soft and meaningful song i have ever herd, this is by far the best song scooter have ever produced, simply a piece of art
WBTN - Posse (i need you on the floor) - this album is the only one for me that never had that special stand out song, maybe because i love posse so much, but i never could pick a stand out song.

really, i find this one a really good one, a little on the softer side, considering the time it was released, but their are some great tracks their, both singles are good, especially fire, i love dancing in the moonlight and hit the drum, return of the future and leave in silence are great tracks and dont waste no time and tonight are simply the perfect experimental tunes.

the only tracks i dont like as much are she said

The Age Of Love, Fire, Hit The Drum and Leave In Silence are the only tracks I find good. The rest is of a style and sound I don't like.
